Prime location to watch Bald Eagles, Deer, Turkey, River Otters, Exotic Ducks in Winter... and Swim, Fish, Boat in the Summer!

Home surrounded by 100's of acres of farmland; giving tremendous privacy. Country feeling, yet only 10 miles to I-70 and St. Peters/St. Charles. ...for those of you who don't need, and aren't looking for, luxury hotel amenities, but are looking instead for a nice, comfortable, vacation getaway in a nice log cabin setting.

The cabin is in a beautiful, remote location right on the river. The cabin itself is very nice and decorated appropriately for the location. It is quite comfortable and homey and stocked well with what we needed. The patio was by far my favorite spot. Communication with the host was a challenge. We didn't receive check-in instruction, and I didn't receive answers to any of my messages requesting instructions. Once my husband called directly, he was able to reach the host and get the needed information. As a few others mentioned, although the lower areas of the cabin were clean, anything high was quite dusty and the light fixtures need cleaned of bugs. I understand this problem, as we also live in the country, however if a cleaning service is being hired they could do a more adequate job. In addition, you must carry out all of your trash. Even if there is no trash service to this remote location, it would be more convenient and acceptable to have a tote or small dumpster at the gate where garage could be disposed of as guest leave. Even with these few issues, our stay was quite enjoyable.

brief winter getaway

Booked property hoping for normal mild January, unfortunately was significantly colder and limited to indoor usage. House was perfect and bigger than pictured, porch is 3 season and outdoor stove was unable to use but didn't need and actually protected the house to keep it warmer . saw 14 bald eagles and 4 coyotes across the slough on the island. Will book during warmer weather to utilize the outdoor areas. Last mile is gravel farm roads but still 17 minutes to the interstate.

Girls weekend

Another wonderful girls weekend is now in the books! The river cabin is beautiful, comfortable and so convenient for all of us. We saw eagles and deer. Watched the barges and pleasure boats cruising the river. The stone patio is a great place to sit and relax and watch nature!Can’t wait tin next year!

Get away!

Such a fun location! A relaxing venue with everything we needed. The cabin was perfect for our family weekend. Very comfortable and decorated so perfectly. Coffee on the patio watching fish jumping and ducks flying. The Mississippi River is so serene!

Relaxing getaway

Property was just as pictured! Our family had a great time relaxing and fishing. Not far from St. Louis so we were able to explore while also having the most relaxing and serene cabin to return to.

Unbelievable retreat

I can't thank the owners enough, to allow others to enjoy thia magnificent property. The cabin has all the amenities you could ask for. The beds were comfortable and we got great sleep. The furniture in the living areas was soft and comfy and great to sink into after a long day. We loved sitting on the patio watching the wildlife and the occasional boat pass by. There are more fish right off shore than you can imagine. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. The best part is the peace and quiet you experience while there. There is not another house in sight and it really allows you to relax. The hosts did a fantastic job of giving us directions and having everything ready for our stay. We highly recommend this wonderful property. Thank you again for sharing this with others.

Tristate Gathering

We were lucky enough to have four generations stay for the weekend; from IL, IN and MI. The pictures didn’t do this cabin justice - it was clean and higher quality than we expected. Watching the river flow and all of the wildlife around was the best part. And the shaded patio made it possible in the summer heat and rainstorms. We fished as well and caught some bass and catfish right off the dock. We had to run the water a bit to flush some of the initial smelly water out, but that didn’t take long. And the bunk bed was a tiny bit wobbly and noisy for sleepers that toss and turn. Overall, great place! We hope to come back for the next family graduation party.

Comfortable rustic cabin by the river

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin, and it met all of our needs as we were staying in the area a few days leading up to our son’s wedding. We used the outdoor grill and the kitchen - we found everything to be in working order, I was even pleasantly surprised to find a ninja blender which came in handy. There was plenty of space allowing the groomsmen to get ready and take some outdoor photos on the porch & back patio by the river. Celia was very quick to respond to messages. Would recommend for anyone who doesn’t mind staying in a location that’s off the beaten path.

Incredible Cabin on the Mississippi River

This is a hidden gem. Well off the beaten path, down a gravel road, beautiful and peaceful. The cabin is eclectic and cozy - with modern amenities (air-conditioning, and wi-fi). It is right on the Mississippi with incredible views. We saw abundant wild-life. It was just me and my Mom, but a family would have a great time! Definitely will visit again!

Quiet, secluded cabin

Cabin location was ideal. Plenty of space for all guests. Cabin needs some deep cleaning and updates (upstairs tub does not work). Overall it was a nice getaway!

Very private great fishing

Very beautiful private property with no neighbors for miles. We enjoyed our stay , the owners were very accommodating and friendly. We caught lots of catfish during our stay it was alot of fun.

Honeymoon Getaway

Beautiful! The cabin was very nice. Right on the river. We enjoyed watching the eagles and the eagle's nest right across the river from the back patio..we'll be visiting again this summer.

business trip

This trip was wonderful from start to finish. Our group normally stay in a couple hotel rooms but this was a great change of pace that allowed us to get away from the city and enjoy staying and eating in. The house is equipped with anything and everything needed for our stay. The host communication was excellent. The directions and owner expectations were spot on and very helpful. The host was also super easy to work with when we wanted to add an extra night. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Another great weekend

We had our annual girls weekend at this beautiful River cabin. Very comfortable and the location is perfect! We saw deer swimming across the river in the morning and an eagle circling the sky. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets! The owner is very gracious and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back next year!

We bought this wonderful log home as our family get-away, close to home, about 15 years ago. We have so many wonderful family memories with our kids growing up, adventures out on the river (swimming, boating, waterskiing), entertaining friends... Our kids are now grown and we were not using our lovely cabin as much, so we decided to share it with other people so that they can create and enjoy fun memories of vacations as well. If you want a peaceful setting, winter or summer, this is it! Nature surrounds the cabin and is fun to watch from the deck. Bald Eagles and Golden eagles abound Dec-Feb! Deer visit year-round. Fishing is fun in the summer too....or just relax and barbeque on the deck with the fabulous view.
