A wonderful quiet place to stay in the country on a small lake. Plenty of room for are family of 10. The back deck was our favorite spot. Well maintained and the owner was easy to work with.

Great place! Fantastic location lots of fun had by our family and friends. The house was well equipped with catering facilities and delious coffee. The washing / dryer facilities the best we have had since we started our trip. Unfortunately we did not have time to use the sauna, but it was nice knowing it was available.

Charity is a great host. The place is a superb location for those visiting Denali. It is a long drive to Denali's main entrance but Talkeenta is a much livelier town than any other closer to Denali. The proximity to the lake and the sauna are really nice additions.

Alaska Family Trip

It work really well for are family of 9. We drove to Denali from here, enjoyed the town Talkeetna, the brewery near by and were able to come back to a nice relaxing comfortable place on the lake.

My wife and I along with additional family rented the lake house for a week. House and area were as advertised. Very nice, clean and well stocked home. Charity was very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend. great location. About 10 minute drive to Talkneeta, which is really cool town.

Nice place by a little lake

The house comfortably fit our group of 8. It is fairly close to a grocery store, not too far from Talkeetna, and is on a little lake where we saw moose. The house was clean, well-stocked, and has plenty of parking.

Perfect Getaway!

This house had everything we needed for a family trip to Talkeetna. The house was clean and we appreciated all of the little things that helped make it a home. We loved congregating on the porch for coffee each morning looking out at the lake. Thank you!

No stress home

It's always nice when family members from different parts of the world meet after travel (and delays) and home is the last thing you need to think about once there. It was everything we needed to be comfortable and some more. Beautiful location and view but very homie and cozy as well. Every care was taken to think of anything a guest of all types may need. And if you need something or not happy with, just text or call the listing manager who was always on point with the communication. Check in was a breeze with clear communication and so was check out.

Great Location for Family

Property is "as advertised". It was great for our family. House is well stocked. Quiet neighborhood with separation from neighbors. Full size washer and dryer helped cut down on the packing for the trip. 2 Kayaks were great for the kids to get outside. Caught a couple nice trout with the fishing pole and net. Thanks for the mosquito repellent- came in handy for evenings on the deck and dock. Close to Denali Brewing for pizza and beer. Thanks for a good stay.

Winter weekend getaway

We stayed for just a weekend as two families with elementry age kids and dogs (4 parents, 5 kids). We lucked out to get nice winter temperatures about 25F. Everyone enjoyed sledding down the hill from the house to the lake. We brought kicksleds to use on the road and that was fun too. The neighborhood is quiet without much traffic at all. Our dogs got to meet some of the neighborhood dogs and had a great time playing with them (very friendly also). The house was clean and as pictured. We really appreciated the bed configuration that let kids be in the room with parents as the kids prefer that in new places. The two upstairs bedrooms are really large, especially the room with the king and two doubles. Talkeetna offers some good food options even in winter, great pizza at the Denali Brewing tasting room and burgers/Phillies at the burger barn. I will look at booking this house again next time we want to go to Talkeetna.

Relaxing Lake Cabin

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It was very nicely decorated and had all the amenities we needed. The rooms were perfect, with comfy beds and TVs for the younger adults to play video games and watch movies when we weren't exploring the beautiful area. We did not use the lake since ourntime was short and we had a full schedule, but the provided kayaks, paddles and life jackets are an amazing plus for the property. The lakeside deck was wonderful, with a swing chair, deck furniture tonseat several people, and a grill. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessary cooking supplies, some basic needs like oils, seasonings, condiments, foils and zip lock bags. The only drawback was the large quantities of mosquitoes in this particular area. Theybseemed to know we were insode and the congregated outside the door just waiting gor us to come out. We did really appreciate thenthoughtfulness of the host and manager to leave multiple devices and options for mosquito control to allow you to enjoy the deck and lake. Wish we had extra time to use them. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and the rental experience. We would stay ahain if the opportunity arose. Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with is for our stay!

Wonderful “Home Base” for Our Time in Talkeetna

This home was the perfect home base for our multigenerational family of five. It was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. The location is serene and very convenient for exploring Talkeetna and the surrounding area. Charity is a fabulous host and exceptional communicator. Our only regret is we didn’t have enough time to take advantage of the kayaks! This was by far our favorite place we stayed in Alaska.

Wonderful Family Weekend

We had a lovely family trip at the Sunshine Lake Retreat! The house was inviting and cozy with many thoughtful additions that helped to make our trip more comfortable. The beds were very comfortable in every room. The bedrooms upstairs were large enough to accommodate different family groups(with kiddos). The kitchen was very well equipped to cook some big family meals. We spent time playing at the lake every day and enjoyed the beautiful lake views from the house. *Bonus* The house is very close to Denali Brewing for some delicious food and drinks. Charity provided clear directions and was very responsive and kind to any inquiries we had. We had a wonderful time making memories at this lovely house and would definitely make another trip!
