Looking for a romantic getaway, or a cozy vacay with the family? This two-bedroom condo features upscale elegance and stunning views of the lake. This condo will accommodate just you and your honey, or your family of six. Featuring a king suite on the walk-in level, two twins in the upstairs guest room, and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the upstairs living area, Lake Side is sure to please the whole family! Downstairs, the main living space is equipped with a gas log stacked-stone fireplace and books for guests to enjoy. Pair a priceless view of the lake with some mountain rocking chairs and this back porch is one of the most serene spots in Bear Lake Reserve. If you're looking for more fast-paced fun, the Lake Club is conveniently just down the hill!
Bear Lake Reserve:
Found in the Tuckasegee Valley in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains is Bear Lake Reserve, a master-planned 2,100 acre gated resort bordering Bear Creek Lake. Bear Lake Reserve guests have access to all the private amenities offered by the resort, including a 9-hole Nicklaus Design® golf course with a 40-mile panoramic view of the Smokies, MatchPoint Resorts Tennis, and 17 miles of maintained hiking and walking trails to spot waterfalls and mountain wildlife.

The luxuriously appointed Lake Club offers guests access to the lakeside pools, waterslide, hot tubs, private beach, gym and sauna, multiple lounges, on-site restaurant and bar, as well as a library and indoor theater. Guests of Bear Lake Reserve can also arrange equipment rentals ranging from mountain bikes to pontoon boats via the Lake Club. Take advantage of the many family activities offered, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids. Bear Creek Lake itself is 497 acres with 13 miles of shoreline to explore.

​​​​​​​Effective May 1st, upon arrival at the Greeter's Cottage, all guests of Bear Lake Reserve will be responsible for paying a Resort Preservation Fee. This fee will be $30/day (with the maximum fee per stay being $150 or 5 days) and will be charged upon check in. This is our 4th year visiting Bear Lake and 2nd time staying in this home. The home was extremely comfortable and the view is fantastic.

Bear lake family getaway

Condo was great overall. Could stand to use some updating, especially the cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc. Very firm mattresses. But THE VIEW and proximity to the lake was what we came for and it did not disappoint. Lake Lodge: We’ve been to Bear Lake many times and always enjoyed the Lake Lodge. This time it seemed to be showing a lot of wear and tear. Garbage piled up, broken chairs and umbrella stands, and the staff were inexperienced. Food and drinks were sub par. Sad.

What a view

It was better than we expected. The location on the mountain was ideal. The view from the porch was breathtaking. We had everything we needed and more in the kitchen. The unit was clean and well appointed. I can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful place to unplug

The condo is perfectly situated next to the lake house, and is a lovely home, however the 4.7 mile drive through the mountains is not for the faint of heart. It is black bear country so we were leary to hike and since it was spring the bumble bees were everywhere which was a bit unsettling on the balcony. Despite the bears, bees and insane road - it was a lovely stay.

Absolutely wonderful!

This is our 2nd visit to Bear Rock and had a great time! The house was clean, comfortable, and we enjoyed the views! The kitchen had basically everything we needed---would have like a Keurig single cup coffee machine, but we managed---and had what we needed to make meals. It is a short drive to the Lake House where we spent most of our time. I would not recommend walking--- even though it looks like a short walk--- due to the terrain. At night, there were lots of games at the house that we had fun playing. I forgot about the movie room at the lake house and we didn't think to reserve it. We definitely will next time! The beds were incredibly comfortable! I am still giving this a 5 star because the one negative I do have is on the Reserve's side and not the host's: We were there in mid August; so, still summertime. We had one day where the poolside bar and food were available. The other four days, we had to go inside---which requires that you put on clothing and shoes---soaking wet from the pool if we wanted to get anything. Plus, they wouldn't bring the food or drinks down to us. The coffee bar also wasn't open except for one of the days; we were told we'd have to find someone in the morning to make a drink and open the store. We also had to find someone to clean the pool before we could get in it. Since the Lake Club is 99% of why we came, it was a bummer than not all of the amenities were available and that customer service was no longer a priority.

Can I have a few more days please!

This was a beautiful place and this rental had everything we needed! Make sure if you don't plan to eat every meal at the club house to bring some groceries in... You couldn't ask for a more beautiful view and amenities, but it comes with steep, narrow roads which keeps me locked in place until the confidence in driving them sets in. I would have loved to get a few more days in this peaceful secluded escape! We hope to return (with groceries!)

Great location

The condo is clean, well equipped with an excellent view! A couple min drive from the lake club (we were hoping to walk there but given the roads in the area and 2 small children decided driving was safer). Location near the club made dining out, swimming, boat rental and beach time very turn key which is exactly what we were hoping for! We plan to return this time next year!

Spend a wonderful week high up in the clouds

We chose this unit to get out of the heat, not knowing the area. The unit is lovely, great views, quiet, restful with everything you need. The pictures and description are accurate. The facilities are amazing. There is a full service restaurant, wonderful services, boat rentals, beach access, golf and tennis. The unit is about 40 minutes to the closest town, which is very small, therefore, make sure you pick up any supplies you need before checking in as the road out is a small two lane through the mountains, so you won’t want to be driving it too often. (The 4 stars in that category reflect the travel needed to go out to dinner or the market)

Beautiful view

Great condo with fantastic views of the lake. Condo had everything that we needed and it’s conveniently located near the club house. The only FYI I will add is about the beds- they are all very firm. We will plan to return.

Great place to unwind

Thank you. The condo was beautiful and well-maintained. The location in regard to the pool and other amenities was excellent, and the We did have an issue with not being able to connect to the wi-fi and television. We were not able to get this corrected despite trying several different passwords. This may be something to update on your paperwork for the next guests. Additionally, I am not sure if there was supposed to be a land line available in the house or not, Of so, it was not present. This was not an huge issue, but given the lack of cell service and wi-fi, it made communication challenging. Again, this was not a huge problem but may be something to correct for the next guests. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return. If there are any special promotions that arise in the future, we would love to be notified of those. Have a great rest of the summer.
