Beached houseboat with lots of character and deck jacuzzi

Welcome to Dexter Run Farms.
This Beached Houseboat with a lower sleep cabin is located on our remote 300-acre farm in the colorful countryside of Meigs Co, Ohio. The boat sits on its own hillside location with an open yard, surrounded by woods, cow fields and lots of wildlife. The boat is fully furnished with 3 separate sleeping quarters and plenty of deck space. An efficiency galley kitchen gives you the chance to create easy meals or snacks to enjoy while sitting outside. There is an outdoor grill or fire pit with a cooking grate. Explore our many miles of hiking trails that lead throughout our farmstead or just sit and relax in the jacuzzi. The shared Pond is just 3/4 of a mile on the other side of the hill.

Our summer nights surely WOW our guests with the starry nights and lightening bugs.

Explore our local Farmer's Markets, several historic towns with shopping, antiquing, artisans and good eateries. This place offers the perfect setting to create special memories here in our little slice of paradise.

Peaceful and beautiful

The property was beautiful! Loved being so close to the cows. Boat is just as pictured and we had a great time grilling between the rain showers.

I’m the Captain Now

We had a really nice stay! My child loved the “no-grown-ups-allowed secret room” (lower bedroom) and playing Captain of the boat. The kitchen had everything you need; I was able to cook full meals using the griddle provided.

We loved every single thing about staying here! My girls 6 & 8 both said “best vacations yet” & “I want to live here when I grow up” so couldn’t ask for anything better! We Will def be back.

We loved it!

Adam was friendly, helpful, and ensured we had everything we would need to enjoy our stay. Our group absolutely loved the setting and fell in love with the good ol' Jenny Belle! Such a unique and lovely stay! Our only complaint is that we wished we could have stayed longer and spent more time exploring the property!

Just what I was looking for so beautiful and quite easy to get lost but even then was a great adventure and the host was very helpful and easy to talk to any problems they took care of it immediately WILL definitely do this again a very wonderful experience

Remote and Peaceful

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. The jacuzzi was great at night for stargazing and the hamock under the tree was great for a mid-day nap. The location is very remote and quiet except for the sounds of nature--it was exactly the getaway we needed. Also, there are more cooking supplies than listed on the amenities with an air fryer and a griddle. I'd love to stay here again!

Family getaway

We had wonderful stay. Such a unique & fun property. Adam was very friendly & helpful in making sure we had a great stay. We enjoyed the pond as well. My only critique would be is that a map of the property and pond would be helpful. We got a little turned around for the pond & where the trash was located on the last day.

Great Stay at a Beautiful Rural Property

Adam is a great host, available if you have any issues but keeps his distance so you enjoy your stay. Boathouse is cool, kids loved pretending to drive the boat and taking a bath in the Jacuzzi tub. Recommend for anybody with younger kids!

Hidden get a way!!

The house boat was awesome! Property owners were respectful and never intruded. Nature has its way of calming and it’s what I was looking for! Oh and the Stars!!!!! Wow!

Girls Weekend

Made plans with friends to come in for the Pawpaw Festival and like to stay at unique places. I mean who wouldn't want to stay on a Houseboat?! It was clean, cozy, and more. I didn't realize when booking the area was secluded and it was sure a welcoming surprise along with the cows serenading us while drinking our morning coffee. We didn't get a chance to explore the property, but did really enjoy the stars at night. I will defiantly be coming back with my husband to enjoy more of what this place has to offer. Absolutely amazing views and fun place to stay.

Peaceful & serene

My friend and I met about halfway between each of our homes for a weekend celebrating 35 years of friendship. The Beached Houseboat was a great location! Communication with Adam was great and the Houseboat was just as described. We had a little issue with the grill Friday night but upon calling Adam, he resolved it quickly and was apologetic that it happened. We were grateful for his quick response. There’s a small fridge, microwave, toaster available. Additionally, a griddle, air fryer, crockpot, and blender that we didn’t use. We each brought coolers and kept drinks in one and used the other one for regular food storage since counter space is limited. There are a lot of windows which are tinted and air conditioning but we were there when it was 95° and it was a little warmer in the kitchen/ bedroom area. I brought a small tower fan and it helped cool that area off more. The shower was tricky to get the water adjusted properly but we made it work. The property was so serene. It was nice to be away from road noise and traffic. There were so many birds and deer, and we heard coyotes at night. The night sky and full moon during our stay was beautiful! There were tons of fish in the pond and it was so refreshing to swim on a hot day. We explored a trail near the pond. The property is huge and I hope to return again to explore more.

Unique, relaxing getaway

Gorgeous Fall Escape

Had a great time hiking, fishing and hanging out at the Beached Boathouse! Generous with wood to keep the fire going, neighbors but also far enough away to offer privacy. Great adventure for kids at the boat, pond and hiking trails. Highly recommend!

This place is way off the beaten path but so worth it! It was what we needed to unwind and relax.

The best! The owner was helpful and friendly. The boat was unique and decorated to the theme. Very clean and worked out so well with the grandkids.
