Get close to nature in the heart of Tallahassee. Fall in love with this hidden gem property like our family did! The unique landscape is the star of this VRBO. Our family is continuing the many years that this property has welcomed family getaways, FSU fans, hiking enthusiasts and extended stay workers.

On the North side of Tallahassee, you will be surrounded by forest on the beautiful Canopied Meridian Rd adjacent to Alfred B MaClay State Park and Lake Overstreet Trails.

Enjoy the melody of birds, crickets and cicadas throughout the day and see the deer in the morning and evening from the screened-in porch or open deck. Stroll around the luscious 3-Acre's and help yourself to the many varieties of fruits in season during your stay.

With a central location, you are minutes from the state capital downtown, or an hour from the coast. Visit some of our family favorites: the beach at St. George's Island (1hr. 45min), a hike around the lake of MaClay State Park(5 minute walk - next door!), or spend the day at the boutique shops of Thomasville, GA and hip restaurants (30 minute drive).

This cottage is adorable! It is immaculate and you'll find everything you might need for your stay in the cupboards and closets. The Wallaces have thought of everything! Old-Florida charm, comfy beds and furniture, and overall a very family-friendly place to relax and enjoy your vacation!

The Magnolia Cottage was amazing! Katie and Matt were so hospitable and the Cottage was so clean and cozy. I am looking forward to booking again as Magnolia felt instantly like home and I have not stayed anywhere where I felt like I never wanted to leave.

We rented Maple Cottage during our home renovation. Katie and Matt were very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. The cottage was cozy and the beds are comfortable. The layout is open and is just the right size. It was nice to leave the construction mess behind at the end of the day and come home to the cottage. The location in town is great because you're close to restaurants and shopping, or if you want to just relax and hang out at the house, it felt secluded and safe. The setting could not have been better! The whole house to ourselves in a beautiful yard with fruit trees and chickens meandering; I saw deer a couple evenings too! The kitchen was nicely appointed and the back porch was a nice place to relax. We are so appreciative to Katie and Matt for the hospitality and highly recommend their cottage to guests you have coming to town. Thanks again for being a part of our home renovation story! I can't wait to have you over to our finished home to visit soon!

The hosts are great, super friendly and helpful. The property is full of fruit trees and lots of space and privacy. Feels like visiting family, which we did while in the area. Also loved the friendly kitty cat.

Katie and Matt are superb hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The cottage is spotless and cozy, the setting is beautiful — a short walk from Maclay Gardens, a gorgeous place for a nature walk — and quiet and the kitchen is well-stocked with everything we needed to make a few meals. Katie even gifted us with fresh eggs from their chickens for breakfast! Quality soaps and shampoos, cozy chairs and a wealth of places — including a sweet screen porch out front — made the cottage so welcoming and comfortable, I will definitely book again.

Wonderful location, close enough to just about anywhere in the Tallahassee area. Two nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Washer and dryer. Front and back porch.Host was friendly. I was surprised at how close the host house was to the property. Thankfully the grandchildren were able to get out and play in the shared yard area. If you have small children, bring some plastic plates and bowls so you don’t have to worry about them breaking a glass plate or bowl. Highly recommend this location.

Cute cottage. Great location. Loved picking fruit from the orange/grapefruit trees on property. Easy access to MacClay park hiking trails. Easy communication with host. Showers are narrow but manageable. Beds soft and comfy. Outside light pole keeps the one bedroom pretty bright at night.

Beautiful Cottage

Maple Cottage is the perfect location for visiting small towns near Tallahassee You will find everything you need at the cottage which is surrounded by fruit trees The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed both the front and back porches Certainly enjoyed meeting the Wallace family including the four legged members of the family If you are looking to relax and unwind this is a perfect place

Cute hideaway in the woods

The manufactured home named "simply magnolia" is dressed up nicely and provided for a comfortable experience. Katie and Matt were wonderful caretakers and made us feel quite welcome during our stay. We didn't get to stay too long, but enjoyed seeing rabbits, cardinals, woodpeckers and more in that short time (really there to see our kids at FSU). Wish we'd had more time to explore all the amazing parks nearby - maybe next time.

We were lucky to get to stay here!

We had such a wonderful stay at this property. It was a little paradise - abundant fruit trees loaded with fruit, live oak trees, flowers, birds, beautiful sunsets and stars at night. The house was just perfect for us and had everything we needed. Loved being able to walk over to the Lake Overstreet trails. It was extra special getting to know Katie, Matt and their precious children. We did not want to leave.

Visiting family

The house was clean, well-supplied, and had a good layout for two adults in one bedroom with a bathroom and a second bedroom for our two granddaughters with a nearby bathroom. The hosts were friendly and got the tv connection up and running for us. We appreciated the peace and quiet of the area and it was a quick 15 minute drive to our children's house. Thank you, Katie and Matt, for sharing your house with us!

Ideal value!

This was a delightful base for our month long get-away to beautiful Tallahassee. It offered everything as cited in the ad, plus privacy, camelia's, trails, and easy access to everything. We had guests from Germany who were thrilled not to be in a hotel, and the cottage did not feel crowded. Everything we needed was there and in good condition. We hope to return if we haven't found a place to buy. Diane was lovely! She introduced us to loquats and was a wonderdful host. Thank you for a great month!!!!! Annette and Rick

It is always exciting to share the fruits growing at this property. Spring it is loquats although there are also still a few kumquats. Then the blueberries next month after which come the plums. There are also 4 fig trees and then later in the fall it is citrus again along with persimmons. So glad you were here to enjoy this

My husband, kids and I moved to Tallahassee from Nashville, TN. It immediately exceeded our expectations. The small town feel with everything you need 10 or 15 minutes in any direction. A state park for trail runs and bike rides, and a crystal clear ocean less than 2 hours away. Now all we needed was a home to call our own. Little did we know, it would start us on a new adventure.

My family and I didn't specifically set out to become active on VRBO, but when we came across this property, and all it has to offer, we immediately knew that we wanted to be a part of it, and continue the legacy. There is nothing like it in Tallahassee.

A local family in town spent years making this three acre property stunning. The lot is surrounded by gorgeous fruit trees, which if you are lucky enough to taste, you will never want to go back to store bought fruit again. Our farmhouse is on the property alongside the cottage with plenty of breathing room for guests to enjoy. If you are looking for country living (and maybe a trip back to grandmas house) in the heart of a city, you've found it.

You will be in close proximity to everything Tallahassee has to offer. The state capital, museums, parks, FSU Stadium and more. Not only that, but you will wake up with a fresh cup of coffee in hand and look out on a luscious three acre lot surrounded by Magnolia trees, Crepe Myrtles, and a stunning live Oak Tree right out your window.
