Family-friendly 3 bedroom retreat, in shared house

This beautiful 3 bedroom suite features 1 full-private bathroom, one half bathroom, and a game room. You will have the whole upstairs to yourselves. The house is in a quiet neighborhood in Katy, TX. We have high-speed internet. You will enjoy free wifi and free parking. Essentials such as towels, soap, shampoo, are included in your stay. You will have a microwave, a mini-fridge and a kerig coffee machine, as well as a 55" TV with, Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. Relax and enjoy your private upstairs suite. The 3 bedrooms have 4 queen beds and an extra queen air mattress if requested. We also have a 3/4 mile running trail just behind our house. We are located just 5 minutes from shopping such as Walmart, HEB (groceries) and about 10 min from Katy Mills Mall, and Typhoon Texas Waterpark. We are also just a short drive from Houston, where you can explore the NRG Stadium, the Houston Zoo, the Natural History Museum, George R Brown Convention Center and all that Houston has to offer. We are also about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Galveston if you feel like exploring the beach.

We live downstairs, so we will be able to help with any concerns you may have during your stay. We have a very friendly 9 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. We also have 1 dogs which stay outside or in our downstairs bedroom, and 2 cats, which stay outside.

Loved the stay

Definitely worth the place! Very nice neighborhood, close to plenty of shopping places, friendly atmosphere and excellent host 💛. Will certainly choose to stay again when we’re in the area.

Host was incredibly kind and welcoming. I had read an odd review and now understand and will explain. They accused that it wasnt private. To explain, you have the entire second floor of the hosts home. Each bedroom has a door. Bathroom, same. When you enter the house, you are literally walking into their livingroom. You cross it to the stairs, go up, platform and pivot, up again. They do not enter your space. However, there is an open wall in the upper vrbo livingroom to below. You cannot be seen from it from below. You can hear and be heard. They are INCREDIBLY QUIET, but the space is not totally enclosed. For me, this was desirable! I was traveling alone to visit my adult children. This home was a mile from my kids, it allowed me to decompress at the end of the night and have quiet time. It was comforting to have a family below me. It felt safe. I have NOTHING bad to report. At all. Totally pleasant experience. But if you want total, seperate entrance and no contact privacy, this is not that. Host and family amazing. Very clean. Very thankful for my stay!! Bed amazingly comfy.

Great location and very cozy. The owners live downstairs while the guest stay upstairs. It's clean and spacious. Very nice owners who are very responsive!

Amazing comfort

This stay was amazing, comforting, and all around welcoming place. The hospitality is through the roof. The sleep areas accommodated our family needs perfectly. The family is extremely nice. We will use this location again in the future.

Busy, Busy

We had a funeral to go to on the north west side of Houston and this place was more efficient. The place was exceptionally clean, quiet neighbor hood, and absolutely no traffic noise. We all slept pretty well. Highly recommend for a stay.

Stay in Katy area home

I stayed here while helping a friend prep for her wedding. The upstairs was exactly as advertised and very comfortable (nice 3 bedroom with a good hangout space). The hosts were very accomodating and responsive which was nice. They were even willing for me to come back and look for something I had left and were very responsive about coordinating that too. Their kids were also very welcoming which was fun! If I ever came back with the rest of my family and needed to stay in the Katy area, id definitely stay here again!

What a great idea

At first I thought it might be strange staying with a host family. Boy was I wrong. The host family was extremely nice and welcoming. We came and went throughout the days with never being disturbed. The beds were comfortable and the AC was so nice and cool after a long day outside. We’d love to stay there again

Listing not clear

We did not stay for our booking. It is said that you get an entire home on the listing which is not true. you get the top part of the house and the family stay below. You enter through their house. We did reach out to the host to explain we would not be staying and had no response. If you are comfortable with this kind of stay, it may be lovely. Bedrooms looked spacious. If we had known this information, we wouldn’t have booked and lost our money.

Family of Five Visit

The property was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Access was easy. The walking trail near the house is nice. As others have noted, by “shared property” it means that while you have the upstairs to yourself, you still enter through the front door and foyer of the ground level occupied by the homeowners. There is no door at the top of the stairs. We felt comfortable in this setting and seemed to coexist very well, but others may not be as comfortable. Because of that, the value for our stay was excellent, giving everyone in our family of 5 a bed to sleep in vs relegating someone to a sofa in a hotel. We spent most of our time with family nearby, so we didn’t miss having a full kitchen.

Katy, TX. is the perfect quiet town that has amazing schools and has everything we need. Our home is the perfect location. Close to grocery stores and shopping. We are also a short drive from the city , if we ever want to go explore Houston. And we are a short 1 hour 15 min drive from the beach in Galveston. We live in a quiet neighborhood, which is perfect for business travelers.

We love hosting guests and meeting friends from out of town. We have been hosting guests at our home from around the world for the last 3 years. Through hosting we have met guests from all over the world, China, Africa, Europe, and of course guests from all over the United States. I love meeting others and helping my children learn about other cultures. Whether you are looking for just a quiet place to sleep at night, or a home-base as your family visits for a familly vacation, or wedding or other family trip, we are the place to stay. We will treat you like family and try to ensure everything you need is taken care of. Please let us know if you have any special requests and we will try to accomodate you.
