I’m sitting on the lanai the last evening of our 11 day stay at this beautiful condo. The palms are gently swaying in the breeze, birds are chirping, and the ocean is calm and serene in the distance. The condo was everything we could have hoped for and more for our time at the Big Island. Everything is as depicted in the photos, and the condo itself was immaculate and the property grounds are tranquil and quiet- no loud parties here! There’s a Foodland grocery store 2 minutes away and a Snorkel Bob’s in the same shopping center.We had two minor issues, regarding the washer and dishwasher. Turned out the washer door has a loose hinge so the door needs to be slightest lifted before attempting to close it, and to start the dishwasher, you quickly press the start button- if you hold it too long, the cycle is cancelled. Both times I called about these, some was out within an hour to help out.The beach on the grounds is just lovely, with many loungers and covered cabanas to use. Just a 2 minute drive and we were there, with Napua restaurant just off the beach to get a meal if you like. We also visited Waialea Beach and Two Step Beach ( amazing snorkeling there!), but most days we were content at Mauna Lani- it was so convenient. The condo had plenty of beach towels and also had 4 chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler to use. (You won’t need these unless you go to other beaches though.)

Optimal stay!

We had the BEST experience here. All the comforts and convenience of home in an amazing location. Everything was clean, cozy and very livable. Would definitely stay here again - we miss it already!

Relaxing vacation

The property was quiet and a perfect place to relax, take walks and watch golfers and whales. The house was clean and had all the amenities of home. Parking is great with a dedicated covered spot.

Amazing location

We enjoyed the view from the lanai watching the whales and having access to the beach club was fantastic. The snorkeling at Mauna Lani is some of the best on the island. Highly recommend it!

A great time at the point

Property was excellent and Kona Coast were responsive and helpful throughout the stay. Both the unit and the view were even better than the pictures. Have been coming to the Mauna Lani point for decades. Love the complex, the snorkeling, and the walk to the hotel. Would 100% book again.

A Big Disappointment

This condo was listed and advertised as a Premium Rental. The price was premium, but that’s where “premium” ended. The view of the ocean was indeed amazing, but the owners had nothing to do with that. The unit itself was a huge disappointment. Honestly, we’ve been in dorm rooms that have been better appointed and furnished than this condo. The pictures were very careful not to give details on the OLD furniture (at least 20+ years old) in the living area and master bedroom. The carpet was clean, but tattered. The glass surfaces needed to be cleaned, and to do so we had to buy our own Windex. The furniture in the living area was so uncomfortable that we actually put pillows on the floor and sat there when we watched movies. Appliances were up to date, but the kitchen was outfitted with the minimum, in terms of tableware, etc. Cooking was a challenge, given the kitchen tools available. There was only ONE oven mitt. We have been to the Mauna Lani property at least 25 times over the last 35 years, and this was by far the worst unit we have ever rented. I would NOT recommend it at all.

Our units are professionally cleaned so I apologize that we missed the glass surfaces, although it may have been streaks from the cleaning solutions used. In previous reviews guests have said the unit had "All the comforts and convenience of home in an amazing location. Everything was clean, cozy and very livable." in another review our guest mentioned " Our condo was beautiful, had the amenities we needed and we enjoyed everyday." With all guests we ask that you call us if you find the property is lacking items. We would have been happy to deliver additional oven mitts. In the unit photos we are as transparent as we can be, with professional photos, properties will always look brighter at higher contrast, sometimes a tropical photo is edited over the TV screen, but nothing else is altered. We display the same furniture on our listing as what is provided in the unit (unless otherwise stated). We manage other premier and newly renovated units within Mauna Lani Point. In the future please call our office, we have an on island team that would be happy to assist you in finding a rental suitable for your needs and preferences.
