The house is not far from the world of Vimmerby and Astrid Lindgren. In Vimmerby is also the birthplace of Astrid Lindgren, Näs, which is worth a visit with its museum, garden and excellent restaurant. The house is within reasonable distance for day trips to Glasriketwith its many glassworks. Historic Kalmar with its Renaissance castle and medieval city center is also worth a visit, as is Öland with its special nature and rich artistic and cultural life.
