Or from this dead center location in Florida take a day trip to Daytona Beach, Orlando for Attractions and Sports, Tampa Bay/St Petersburg area for Ybor City and Museums or Cape Canaveral and the National Seashore. Within 2-3 miles enjoy numerous shopping, restaurant and entertainment opportunities. Within 5 miles view Seaplanes take off, Renniger's Flea Market, Kids Parks ("Splashing" included), nature walks, lake front picnics and train rides. In 30 minutes or less enjoy fishing, golfing, swimming, trail hiking. We are welcome dogs less than 25 lbs with Dog fee & deposit . Call Owner for approval. Nice place

This place is over the garage of an attached house and has stairs. The owner respected our privacy and let us enjoyed their beautiful yard and dock as if they were not there. They always asked if we needed anything. Very quiet retreat and Mt Dora nearby has alot of shops, resturants and tour boats to enjoy. Just wish the fish were biting more.

We wish we could move here

Don and Colleen have a beautiful lake lot and we are lucky they share it! They allowed us to sip coffee, float, fish, kayak/row from their dock on beautiful Lake Saunders. Boat traffic was light and nights were quiet. Our trip reminded us of summer lake trips to Northern Wisconsin.

Serenity by the lake

The property was beautiful . The dock and the seatting area on the lake was wonderful. The apt was very nice and comfortable. Well stocked with ever thing we needed. Colleen and Don were great hosts. They know the area well. Location was perfect in between and very close to all the great places to see in the area.

Serenity awaits!

We loved how cozy the lodgings where. It has charm in an old school way. Clean and well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and all the stuff you want at your fingertips. Now the outside - beautiful! WOW this alone puts this property at the very top. the deck extends out over the lake and you get a sunrise and a sunset. Morning coffee, evening wine or beer on the deck - serenity waits. We can't wait to go back and stay here longer. The owner/manager was great and had great suggestions on local eateries and the surrounding area.

Home away from home

Best place, it was like we were staying with family. I’ve been to all 50 states and never have found better. Located so your close to whatever you wish.

Cute house and amazing location

It was just me and my friend staying in this house in Mount Dora. This house was perfect location to the downtown area and all the little boutiques, shops and restaurants. Easy drive to other surrounding areas as well. The house was very clean and we had excellent communication with the owners! I would highly recommend this house!

Lovely lakefront with vintage apartment

During our stay, we had unrestricted access to the owner's private dock, and there is an outdoor bbq and outdoor kitchen belonging to the owner that you also can use. The lake and dock are spectacular, especially at sunset. Kayaks are available with a signed waiver. Very thoughtful. The birds and wildlife are amazing - eagles, egrets, herons, ibis, lots of fish I know nothing about, and a beautiful view. The apartment is vintage with age appropriate cabinetry and furnishings. Very charming. The host and hostess live on the property and they are both very helpful and accommodating, in fact they went out of their way to offer us additional perks while we were here. The hostess is an avid gardener and her yard is lovely. The apartment is on the second floor of a detached office/storeroom on the property, with a roof between the owner's house and the office/storeroom. So you are fully private and the host does not intrude in any way. They have an adorable Doxie named Penny. They were also very kind about allowing me to have my two small dogs. Very conveniently located to shopping, including downtown Tavares, Eustis and Mt Dora, all are about 5-10 minutes away by car. Thank you, Don and Colleen, I had a great stay and looking forward to another one!

Perfect getaway!

This is now our favorite spot in Florida. The lakeside relaxation and the wonderful, attentive owners made this an exceptional experience! This is a beautiful, well maintained property, outfitted with kayaks, summer kitchen and dock areas for enjoying time with family!

Great stay

The outdoor kitchen and dock area are awesome! Feeding the fish was super fun! There is a diving board that was awesome! Used the kayaks and paddle board everyday of our stay. The place was just what we were looking for. House was super neat and clean. Don was a great host even hooked me up with some fishing gear and advice! The lake is beautiful the water is amazing! House had everything we needed. Very relaxing weekend! Thank you

Sweet little getaway

We booked this trip for a Father’s day getaway, and what a peaceful stay it was! This place is a hidden gem. I love the historical aspect of the property. And I appreciate all the little artistic details Mrs. Colleen has put into the garden spaces. The dock is such a perfect spot to enjoy the quiet sunset and sunrise, catch fish and swim! We hope to make this a regular vacation spot for our family. Mt Dora and the surrounding towns are so charming and unique. Next time we come, we will be more prepared to shop at the giant flea market close by! Forgive me for this only request, but if you look out the kitchen window towards the lake, there is one tree limb blocking the lake view! I would love to watch my husband and son fish on the dock while I wash dishes and prepare food. So grateful for the stay and experience. See you again soon! Love, The Pearce Family

Great place. Don went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed from basic necessities to preparing the boat with everything I needed to catch a few fish. Will definitely stay there again if we come back in town.

We loved staying here! The owners live on the property, but they were super nice and helpful. The yard, dock area and lake were perfect for my 5-year-old daughter to play. We would definitely stay here again!!

Conveniently located.

Needed some fixing up, but we managed. Did not spend too much time in the residence. Spent most of the time away sight seeing the three quant towns around the area. Really enjoyed the dock in the early mornings and in the evenings.

Great property at a great location.

The location of the property was perfect for water activities such as fishing and wakeboarding. The hosts Don and Collen were the nicest people ever who answered all of our questions with a lot of local knowledge. Can't wait to go back next year!!

Amazing Home and Property

Don and Colleen were amazing hosts for me and my friend this past weekend. We had car troubles on the way out , but Don and Colleen were extremely understanding about the situation. The home itself was adorable, clean and just perfect for my birthday weekend getaway. The kitchen was so cute and we made dinner on the last night we stayed. I will definitely be coming back with my family and most definitely with my other friends too. The location of the house is perfect too. Just a 35 minute drive to wekiva island or the weikwa state park. The pictures don’t do it justice. You HAVE to come stay here and just see the amazing wildlife Florida has to offer for yourself. Trust me, you will not regret it! I am already looking to stay here again in the next few months.

Great home base !!!

Great little home base with quick access to your adventures. Really enjoyed the morning and evening peacefulness of the dock on the lake. Don and Colleen are great host, quick check in and your on your way. They may be out of site but rest assured if you need anything they are there for you. Thank you for the short weekend get away and yes we will be back!!!

Great!

We spent a lot of time on the water in the kayaks and boat and did some fishing off the pier. All we furnished was the bait and the sunscreen. Very comfortable stay and enjoyed the weekend.
