A spacious, single-storey apartment in a detached natural stone building with large windows and ideal space on about 70 square meters for one person to four people is available for single use. Ideal for holidays as a single, couple or (small) family (max 2 adults in a large double room in 1. Floor, max. 2 children on a pull-out sofa bed in the living room and / or on a floor mattress in the master bedroom - please give accordingly for a booking only max. 2 adults and max. 2 children up to 14 years old; it can also max. 4 adults use the apartment, if two of them are satisfied with a pull-out sofa bed).

On two floors you have an apartment for a maximum of 4 people (about 70 square meters of living space) available, with parterre a living room / bedroom (incl. Pull-out couch bed for two light persons, a beautiful wood-burning stove for a romantic wood fire and German satellite TV) and a separate kitchen with entrance from the large terrace. The staircase in the kitchen leads to the first floor in a bright lobby, from which the bathroom (shower, toilet, two sinks) and the bedroom (large double bed) leave. From there you have access to the large balcony (about 5 x 2 m), which gives you a magnificent view of the Gironde. Enjoy your breakfast or your evening Médoc wine with the sound of the waves. Separate from the bedroom is the dressing room (instead of wardrobe a large "wardrobe room" with vanity mirror, etc.).

You have enough space on the large house to romp around, playing, lying, sunbathing, relaxing. The big trees give you a cool shade even on hot days. In every season you can sit for hours in the garden, look, dream and just "be there"; "Deceleration" to deliberately slow down the time can be easily realized here. And just the wine that you see grow directly behind the house, you can refer to the owner of the winery next door and in the evening, at sunset or at the campfire, enjoy.

Our country house is located in one of the most beautiful areas of France, in the famous wine growing region of Médoc, about 70 km north of Bordeaux, about 12 km from Lesparre, the "main town"; the peninsula. The Médoc lies like a large peninsula between two large bodies of water, the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde (Sea Delta). A small dirt road leads you through the wide, unspoiled shores of the Gironde directly to the water (about 100m away). The vineyards directly behind the house are beautiful to see in every season: in spring and summer, fruity green, in late summer full of thick, juicy grapes and iridescent in all colors in the fall.

Only about 25 minutes away by car you will find the fine sandy beaches of the Atlantic. Well-known seaside resorts such as Montalivet-les-Bains or Soulac-sur-Mer offer everything that makes a beach fan's heart beat faster. Also ideal here: kite surfing on the Lac of Hourtin, horseback riding on the Gironde, biking, hiking, ...

The good location of our country house you should use for excursions in the area: Just a few kilometers up the Gironde is Pauillac, in whose surroundings you will find the most famous wineries in France: the castles of the barons of Rothschild (Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Chateau Lafite), You z. T. even can visit the Chateaux Palmer and Margaux etc. Most of the smaller wineries of the Medoc are also pleased to show you the wine tradition and wine culture by opening the doors to their cellars. There, in the cool half-shade, the barrels and often old, valuable bottles are stored; There you will get to know the wine and its growing areas, its locations, vintages and aromas during a wine tasting.

Of course, the metropolis of Bordeaux with its numerous sights and architectural features of the 18th Century worth a visit: z. For example the façades on the Quais, the Place de la Bourse, the Opera House, the Girondiste monument, the numerous museums or the picturesque old quarters (Saint Pierre, Saint-Eloi, Saint-Michel, etc.). Our house is about 70 km (an hour's drive) from Bordeaux.

It would be almost a sin not to test the good French cuisine in this region of France. You will find many restaurants in all price ranges, where you can really eat excellent. In particular, the seafood (fish, oysters, mussels) are prepared in many restaurants in a very excellent way. The price for a menu with 4-5 courses is about 25 EUR (up to the limit, of course). In addition, there is no lack of small bistros, where you can enjoy traditional dishes. Fresh oysters and other local produce can also be found at the market in Montalivet.

What differentiates the Atlantic coast from the Médoc landscape on the Gironde? Once you've been there, you'll see it: the Médoc is far more beautiful and varied than the coastal strip of Aquitaine. Drive through the natural small villages that (unlike the seaside resorts on the coast) were not built for the tourist, drive through hilly vineyards, oak and pine forests, past numerous wineries and castles - this landscape will inspire you. Fortunately, it is still considered an insider tip to spend his vacation on the Gironde and yet, depending on needs, to take advantage of the Atlantic. And: In the surrounding villages near our country house you will receive a warm welcome, because there are no unpleasant tourist crowds here.
