Completely renovated, air conditioned cottage close to the beach. Dog friendly.

This property has something for the whole family to enjoy. A large wrap-around porch, screened in dining area on side porch. Outdoor seating and grill make outdoor living enjoyable, while a spacious living room, full kitchen, cable TV, DVD and game closet make indoor living fun as well. The basement was finished in 2024 with additional living area and TV. Beautiful blue stone patio in the back which is private and perfect for evening cocktails or dinner or just lounging and reading a book. Located at the end of Oak Bluffs' main street on Penacook Ave (the website map is incorrect), there is easy access to amazing shopping and many dining options without a lot of noise and congestion. Down the street is the famous Inkwell Beach perfect for an afternoon nap, or a full day of sun and surf. Public transportation and bike paths all over the island make cars convenient but not necessary, and beautiful scenery makes walking pleasant as well. Oak Bluffs offers the best of the Island from the famous Mad Martha's Ice Cream, Black Dog Store, Giordano's Italian Restaurant, and Flying Horses Carousel. An arcade and night clubs offer many entertainment options, and water sport rentals offer fun filled days on Martha's Vineyard for everyone. PLEASE NOTE LINENS AND TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED

Best VRBO ever. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, amazing screened in porch and front porch with hammock and rocking chairs, tons of games and toys for my kids, fabulous location. Cant say enough good about this house. We hope to return!!!

This property, which was accurately described in the listing, was clean, well-appointed/decorated and ideally located which greatly reduced the need to use our car. The front porch and screened-in side porch were added bonuses giving us the option to relax and read out of the sunlight. Highly recommended.

Great space and location

We loved the house. It was within walking distance of everything in Oak Bluffs and right there off Circuit Ave. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Our family got a lot of use out of the porch rockers and hammock. This was probably the best overall VRBO property we have rented over the years.

Great long weekend

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location is perfect, walking distance to downtown and the beaches. Mary is super communicative and responsive. Property is clean and updated.

Memorial Day weekend stay

I had a great stay with my dad and our dogs for MDW. The house was clean with lots of amenities. We enjoyed evenings on the enclosed porch. The location was perfect and so close to all the shops and restaurants of oak bluffs. We walked the dogs around the neighborhood and it was adorable, so close to the beach and the famous gingerbread houses. Would stay again!

First time on the vineyard!

Great location! We were able to walk to everything in Oak Bluffs. It was great to be near the action, but not right on top of it. Loved the front and covered porch, modern kitchen + game closet!

Perfect!

My wife, kids and I were visiting the Vineyard for my wife's birthday. We've rented over a dozen different properties on the island over the years. This house was absolutely perfect for our stay. We love Oak Bluffs, and the house is just off Circuit Ave, walking distance to everything. The house is super charming, and the entire interior was recently renovated. The house was clean, inviting, and has everything you need for a great stay on the island. Also, the host, Mary, was very communicative and helpful before and during our stay. We would be happy to stay here again in the future!

Excellent location in the heart of Oak Bluffs.

It's on a quiet side street, but very convenient to restaurants, shopping, and the water. The house was well-appointed and all appliances worked as advertised. Clean. Would stay there again.

Wonderful place & location

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is perfect location walking every where in oak bluffs. House was very clean and updated. Had all the amenities we needed. We loved relaxing on the porch and really loved staying at this property. We’d love to rent again!

The perfect Vineyard house!

This house is an absolute gem! Located just steps from town and a close walk to the beach. The house has it all- great screened in porch, the most comfortable hammock, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of rainy day games- the list doesn’t end. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

The property was amazing. Close to town but still quite and relaxing. The kitchen was impressive with all needed items included. The best part was the rocking chairs and hammock on the front porch. It was a great relaxing spot to read.

Great location with all the comforts of home and a few bonus extras!

I've been going to the Vineyard since high school and every year for Tivoli for the past 15 years and we've always stayed at an Inn. This year we decided to change things up for a weekend in October and a home rental. Let me tell you, we should have done this year's ago and the Down's home was the perfect home in which to do so! The kitchen is great with the island and breakfast bar and I wish we had more time to spend on the 3 season porch, is a great space bonus! The bedrooms were comfy and there were lots of hangers, it might sound like a small thing but having plenty of hangers is key! The master has a great full bath and the main bath has a nice big mirror making it easy for two to get ready at the same time! We hope to come back next year and as soon as we know which weekend we hope to book! Thank you for sharing your home and making our extended weekend an amazing one!

Late summer vacation 2021

The home has a wonderful open living space and great outdoor areas also. The front porch is perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktail or just letting the time go by. The screened porch made an ideal spot for meals and was great to just sit, read or do a puzzle. The kitchen is well equipped, double ovens and microwave. The location of the home makes it easy to walk to town or the beach. Many wonderful restaurants nearby to enjoy. Morning walks up and around the beach with my dogs was a great way to start each day to check out the beautiful sunrise over Inkwell beach

Perfect place to end the summer!

Everything about our stay was wonderful from start to finish. Mary's home is beautiful and has everything you need for a fun and relaxing trip. The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds are comfy, and the entire home has great lighting. Our favorite thing was the screened-in-porch where we enjoyed many delicious meals. The location was perfect-close to everything but in a nice quiet spot. Mary was always very responsive to any question that we had. We hope to stay there again!
