Beautiful Waterfront Lake Home near Real Island and 6 min from The Landing!

Perfect lakefront home for one or two families or 2-10 golfing fanatics. This property is centrally located close to at least 6 of the well known Robert Trent Jones golf courses in Alabama. With two courses only an hour away and the other four between 2 and 2 1/2 hours away. This house is located one hour from the Montgomery airport and two hours from the Birmingham airport.

For the lake lovers, Lake Martin is a premier lake with clear water and a sandy bottom. Ideal for all water activities. Our boathouse is a great place to try for bass, brim and catfish. There is also a separate dock for your boat. Nearby Real Island Marina has a boat ramp and you can also rent a boat or seadoo. Please contact them to reserve your boat. Call early.

This charming house has many amenities including a gourmet kitchen, master suite, outdoor shower, wrap around porch, balcony, 3 large guest bedrooms, upstairs playroom and much more.

Nearby historical sites including Horseshoe Bend and Ft. Toulouse add to the interest. Within an hour take the kids to tour Blue Bell ice cream creamery or travel a little farther to the famous Talledega Speedway. All in all an incredible vacation location for all ages.

Owner has thought of just about everything you could think of spelled out in her welcome notebook. We couldtell she has experience in providing great accommodationsby the way the home was prepared and arranged! Wouldplan on visiting multiple times with Didi!Family, Tradition, and History excellently exhibited . A must visit.

Wonderful Home

Did was excellent to work with and the house was spacious. We loved the front porch and upstairs pool table. The Landing restaurant is 4 minute drive from the house as well making it a fantastic location. Thank you for a great trip

Lake Martin Gem

Lake Martin is the crown jewel of lakes and this property sparkles with comfort and personality. There are cozy gathering spots and getaway napping corners. The sunsets on the porch complete a busy or lazy lake day. We lacked nothing in our stay.

Great lake living!

We had a wondeful stay at Hancel's Heaven. The home is beautiful and clearly has had some incredible family time there! Being right on the lake was incredible. There was tons of sleep space for our group of 9 adults and 2 kids. And the rooms were huge! I do wish the home had some more outdoor items for us to use. We ended up buying floaties for ourselves and had to bring our own life jackets. Thank you to Didi for sharing her home with us!!

Thank you Leah for choosing our piece of heaven. We are thrilled you had a great time. Unfortunately we cannot provide the of items you requested because floaties and such items get damaged and deflated or disappear. Which often happens with life jackets too. There is no way for us to keep up with the inventory when we have numerous groups back to back. We have found It is just better for everyone to bring what they need for their families.

Amazing home with a view!

This home was amazing. The rooms were large and comfortable, but the wrap around porch is where we spent so much time. The home owner made us feel welcome! She sent great directions for dealing with keys, lights, and the dock. Her directions to the home were so perfect, we only passed the drive once :) This was a multi-generational gathering and we all had a blast. Would definitely rent from them again. Hope to revisit this home in the fall to see the beautiful leaves surrounding the lake.

Shangri-la on Lake Martin

This home is truly everything it says and more. We rent a house on the lake yearly when family comes and this one is by far the best. The open floor plan is ideal, house is decorated beautifully and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The quiet cove was nice for swimming and fishing. The grandchildren had a great time jug fishing, (with noodles), and tubing. We enjoyed morning coffee on the large porch overlooking the water and played board games with the grandchildren. The ceiling fans on the porch made it comfortable even in the heat of the day. Owner, Didi, was very accommodating and friendly. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Favorite family Vaca EVER!

I would give this property a 10/10!!! We had the most wonderful family vacation . The view was beautiful, the house was beautiful, the lake was beautiful. We will make Lake Martin a family tradition for sure!!!!

Relaxing Getaway

We had a relaxing getaway at this beautiful lakefront home. The property is perfectly located on Lake Martin. We enjoyed swimming and fishing off of the dock and exploring the lake on our pontoon boat. Didi was very responsive when I had questions about the home and area. This was our first trip to Lake Martin, but we’ll definitely be back!

Awesome Lake House!

Just like the other reviews say…the pictures don’t do this place justice. This house was fabulous! It had plenty of room for our large family and had everything we needed. We loved the porch and dock area. We were able to swim, ski and tube right in front of the house which was great! We also loved the location. This was our first trip to Lake Martin and we can’t wait to return!

Relaxing stay on Beautiful Lake Martin

Our recent stay on Lake Martin was perfect. The home was beautiful, spacious and centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Communication with DiDi was easy and check in process could not have been better. We spent our days relaxing, visiting all the restaurants, tubing and exploring. The porch overlooking the lake was amazing. We hope to return soon!

Mother's Day and Graduation

Our family stay here to celebrate Mother's Day and our daughter's graduation for Auburn Vet School. We had a wonderful time and this house was amazing. The location is great and the size was perfect for all of us(9). The porch and dock area is where we spent most of our time and it is beautiful!!!! We are already thinking of a time we can all stay there again!!

Loving lake life

Had an amazing week at Lake Martin. The house and property is beautifully maintained, spacious and welcoming. So many personal touches throughout the home with a kitchen that is beyond well equipped. We absolutely loved Hancel’s Haven and look forward to a repeat visit next summer.

Relaxing vacation

We enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Hancel’s Heaven. We rented a boat from a marina and had a great time on the lake. This home/property is in a great location with a beautiful view. We would do it all over again!

Summer Family Vacation 2021

The house was beautiful with lots of room for a large family. The house has many interesting antiques, books and photos to look at. Nice boat dock and floating dock to lay out on. We really enjoyed visiting with our family there.

2021 Lake Martin Family Vacation

The property was in a very quite location and easy to access. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of dishes. The bedrooms were very roomy. The mattresses in most of the rooms were not very comfy but for our stay it was fine. The pillows could use an upgrade. The Auburn/historical room was very interesting. We really enjoyed the house and our week stay. We made lots of memories!!

Thank you for your comments and staying with us. Not sure about the beds as we have new gel memory toppers on 2 king beds and 2 new double mattresses. Our family and friends seem to sleep well and have had no complaints. It could depend on how firm a mattress you are used to ......

Best VRBO we've every experienced!

The photos for this lovely lake home to not do it justice! The property is absolutely stunning. The decor is a unique, eclectic mix of country antique and chic. The upstairs barn wood panelled game room is like a fun museum filled civil war, football and wild west memorobilia! But, by far, the BEST part of the house is the lovely back porch and swimming dock where we spent most of our time. There is not detail left out of this wonderful vacation home! We had grandparents, adults, young adults and a teens and a pre-teen!

Family gathering

Our family stayed at the Cody’s Lake Martin cabin to celebrate a graduation. The house was perfect - had everything we needed, was clean & very comfortable. There are lots of interesting antiques & memorabilia in the house. We’ll be back!

Beautiful home in a perfect location!

This home was perfect! It has all of the amenities you could possibly need. The location is in a great cove off the main water. Easy boat access. The property owner was very easy to work with and communicated quickly. We’ll be back for sure!

Birthday Event!

We had a large family gathering for my mother's 80 birthday party. The house and grounds were perfect for us from the oldest in the family to the 2 babies. We boated and floated for 4 days and loved every minute. The marina is a quick boat or car ride!. Didi was very accommodating and was always qucik to respond. The kitchen was well stocked with all drawers labeled - wow! There was plenty of seating inside and the porch was well used for additional seating and dancing. There are other nearby properties on VRBO that allowed our group to reach a total of 35. We will definitely try this again!

Week at the lake

Loved this wonderful house on Lake Martin ! It had tons of space for our family and we so enjoyed visiting on the huge porch ! Close to Kowliga and The Landing so that was a plus for us ! The owner was so easy to work with! Will rent again for sure !!
