I lived in beautiful Rockland County, NY most of my life, and now call Virginia home—but my heart is still very much in the Catskills. I cohost the cottage with my son, Michael, who is the creative spirit behind Jameson Cottage. My son Michael first heard about Livingston Manor in 2017, just as the town was beginning its exciting revival. We spent just one day exploring the area and looking at homes—and it didn’t take long for us to know this was the place. We instantly felt a connection and knew we had found something special.
Our 1952 cottage was loved by it's previous owner but it needed a major update. Reviving Jameson Cottage was an incredibly fun and rewarding journey. Watching it transform from its original state into the warm, welcoming retreat it is today was nothing short of dramatic—and we loved every step of the process. Our home is now a great place to relax and cozy up on the couch, the front porch, or the backyard.
Livingston Manor, NY is a small town with a big story. Once a bustling resort destination, it faced a downturn in the 1960s and spent decades quietly tucked away in the Catskills. But in recent years, it’s experienced an inspiring revival.
Artists, makers, and small business owners have brought new life into the town—restoring its historic charm while adding fresh energy and creativity. Today, Livingston Manor is a vibrant blend of old and new, where classic Catskills beauty meets a growing community of local shops, cozy cafes, and outdoor adventures.
