Plan your getaway at this all season retreat located on a quiet bayou on all sports Big Star Lake. The bayou offers a peaceful setting with abundant wildlife which can be observed when sitting on any of the multi level decks that offer 2 dining tables, comfortable seating, fire pit, grill and lounge chairs.
Take a stroll in the 2 kayaks or paddle boat provided or bring your own boat and jet skis which can be stored at the dock on your 100’ of lake frontage. There is also plenty of room for parking toys in the driveway!
The well known trout streams and ATV/snowmobile trails are nearby as well as Marquette Trail Golf Course.
This location is also perfect for day trips to Lake Michigan with Ludington only 35 miles away, Traverse City 70 miles and 80 miles to Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Inside this freshly remodeled home with central air and high speed internet you will find an open concept kitchen with island and dining table perfect for games and entertaining! The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, eating and cooking utensils, pans, microwave, keurig, griddle and blender.
This area is open to the generous size living room with electric wall fireplace, TV with cable and sliders leading to deck.
Each bedroom has its own appointed bathroom which are on opposite sides of the home giving each plenty of privacy! Towels, linens and blankets provided. The laundry room is equipped with a washer, dryer and ironing board as well.

Great place on the lake and the hosts are easy to deal with. Eveeything was as good or better than advertized. We did 2 nights ans rented the pontoon. Eveeything was easy, clean and worked properly. I would definitly stay here again.

Had a very nice relaxing stay at rhis property. It's hidden in a grove of trees, making it very private and quiet location to relax.The cottage is spacious and very clean. Jodi responded promptly to answer any question. I would stay here again.

Awesome property, as advertised!

House was beautiful with all the amenities you could need. Host was thoughtful-had provided provisions for smores.Kids had a blast enjoying the lake with the kayaks/ rowboat and fishing. We also enjoyed some day trips over to Ludington for pier fishing and walking along beautiful sandy beaches of Lake Michigan rock hounding. We made great family memories. Would highly recommend staying here!

Relaxed lake living

This place has a lot to recommend it. Several boat options on a lake spur with calm waters. Well stocked kitchen equipment and good AC and Internet connection. Choice of cable channels with live sports. Comfortable furniture and beds. Both tub and walk in shower. Plenty of hot water. If you can’t handle stairs, be aware that there are quite a few steps to navigate especially getting to the beach and boats.

Great Getaway!

Hubby and I decided to getaway for our Anniversary! Jodi and her husband were amazing! Very communicative and quick to reply and get what we needed. We decided to cook King Crab legs and needed a big baking sheet & some wood for the firepit - we got them the next morning. We didn't arrive until late but we got a boat tutorial and a full tank of gas! We also got stuff for S'Mores that hubby doesn't normally eat but he killed em! We will definitely stay again if we get the opportunity. Great place for girls weekend, a quick get away or week long (which I think we will be doing next time!) One fun thing we did was change the indoor fireplace colors daily to spice things up! Definitely give this place a look and enjoy! Thanks!

Family Birthday Celebration

We held a (belated) 60th birthday celebration weekend for my mom over Memorial Day weekend. The house was great and the listing accurate. We did have a small issue with our GPS not bringing us to the correct location but we got used to it. The house is on the small side, but we all fit fine and enjoyed our stay.

Lakefront retreat

Perfect Getaway

Cottage is awesome, clean and with all the amenities you could possibly need. We stayed for two nights for a quick getaway for my husbands birthday and visited Silver Lake Sand Dunes (approx 40 mins away) and used the rowboat to enjoy Big Star Lake and do some fishing. Beautiful view, as advertised and even better in person! Looking forward to a return trip :)

Beautiful cottage in the woods!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage on Big Star Lake SO much. The communication with Jodi before and throughout our stay (we had a couple of questions while we were there) was prompt and helpful. The cottage itself is very nice, comfortable and well-equipped. Highly recommend!

A+ VRBO experience

This was a beautiful property - both the home and the setting. Clean and modern. The owners were fantastic to work with. Great communication. We rented their pontoon boat for a very rainy Saturday so they graciously allowed us to use it on Sunday at no additional charge! We plan to return again next year - might be our go-to VRBO :)

Great location, quiet area

The property was just as described. Quiet cabin on the lake and well furnished. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning on the deck and a cozy fire during the evening. Jodi was quick to respond to any questions we had. Checking in and checking out was easy. We had a very relaxing time and would stay here again!

Restful tranquility

The property was amazing. The house was super clean and cozy. Jodi had everything you could possibly need from kitchen supplies, games, fishing gear, kayaks, paddle boat, and firewood. She even left us a gift for our first fire. She gave us great suggestions when we chose to venture out. We rented her pontoon for a day on the lake. Don't hesitate to stay here. We hope to return.

Big Star Lake Home Rental

We rented the 2 BR 2 Bath house for 4 Nights, along with a fishing pontoon boat at the property. We very much enjoyed our stay. The area and home site are surrounded by forest which is very peaceful. When on the lake, the air temperature is pleasantly cooler, making an 88-degree day feel like 75 degrees. Nice fire pit, we did S'mores. Interior of home is clean, liked the laminate flooring. TV and internet worked fine. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes and utensils. Grocery store 10 minutes away had everything we needed. Ludington State Park and Lake Michigan beach is 35 minute drive.
