Situated on a farm that was settled in 1717 and once owned by a signer of The Declaration of Independence, this historic 1833 home has been completely designer-remodeled to offer the utmost in modern comfort while preserving its charming rustic character.

Family Vacation

We stayed there while visiting family in Lancaster and absolutely loved it. The property is beautiful and I have never seen a VRBO so clean. Owner is very easy to communicate with.

Awesome place, hope to return here

Couldn’t ask for a better stay. We had three couples staying and went to Sight and Sound. Location was perfect. Place was perfect. Host was great!

Spectacular

We loved our stay! Our host Amelia was the best. We were greeted by a wonderful loaf of homemade bread. The place was spotless and each of the 4 couples enjoyed their rooms. The grounds were amazing and we loved watching the wildlife. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Great place!

Amelia was a top notch host! From the little touches like lavender satchels next to your bed to providing carrots for feeding the horses it was all wonderful! She is super responsive to any questions or issues and the place was super clean and beautifully furnished. Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful property and gracious hosts

This was a great weekend getaway with friends for us. Everything, the house, the decor, the landscaping, everything was beautiful and our hosts were very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was amazing! The house was also conveniently located to downtown Lancaster. We would definitely consider returning to the Tannery!

wonderful time

my friends and I had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and comfortable. The house is conveniently located for visiting the Lancaster area. We all would highly recommend a stay here. Many thanks to Amelia (our host). The breakfast on Saturday was delicious!!

Fabulous place. Stayed here for a girls getaway. Loved every part of the property. Quiet, clean, exceptional condition, all in all - I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Hostess went above and beyond to communicate and make sure we were comfortable. The extras that she does like homemade bread, wine, fresh eggs, etc made a wonderful stay that much better. Highly recommend!!

Amish country experience

The property has been beautifully renovated, very spacious, the rooms were decorated with exquisite taste, the host was super friendly, super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. She cooked breakfast for us on the first morning of our stay. Excellent breakfast! Would recommend this house in a heart beat.

Fun Weekend Getaway

Our girl’s weekend at the Tannery was lovely! Amelia, our gracious hostess, surprised us with several treats when our party arrived. The house was well-furnished and equipped with enough amenities and personal touches for a relaxing weekend. The farmhouse and property has a quaint, rustic feel with modern upgrades. 10/10! Family Reunion

This property is absolutely beautiful, and Amelia was the most thoughtful, generous host we've ever met! My husband and I, along with our adult children, enjoyed the comfort and amenities of this gorgeous home, plus the charm and peacefulness of the vast outdoor spaces. It was also a perfect setting for us to host a reunion for 20 extended family members one day during our stay. Amelia welcomed us with wine and freshly baked sourdough bread. She was attentive to every single need we had. We highly recommend this property, and we look forward to staying here again!

Spectacular!!!!

The Tannery was more than we expected, better than we expected!! Amelia outdid herself in style, beauty, class, and all with a warm spirit of welcome. We appreciated everything about the Tannery. All seven of us want to make it a yearly experience. And the breakfast…. It belongs on the food channel!! So delicious and the presentation was as beautiful as the house!! Thank you Amelia💕💕

Best VRBO we've ever stayed at!

This was for a girls weekend and we have been doing this a long time - so we've had some experience with different places. This was by far the nicest place we've ever stayed at with the nicest host. The decor was awesome and so many of us commented on how they loved this thing in the bathroom, or this thing in a bedroom, etc. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets were amazing! But the best part of our stay was the small things our host did - to the bread she left for us, the watermelon mint water and the delicious over the top breakfast she made! (Seriously, that quiche and croissants were so good Amelia! :) I could go on and on about how wonderful our stay was!

Amazing Experience!

Our stay at this property was nothing short of amazing! The home was beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the delightful aroma of warm bread, a fire crackling in the fireplace, and soft jazz music playing in the background—it felt like stepping into a dream.The owner went above and beyond, providing fresh eggs and a lovely bottle of wine, which added such a personal touch. They were also extremely responsive and made sure our stay was perfect in every way.The grounds were absolutely stunning—rustic and serene, with a breathtaking view of a beautiful lake and horses grazing nearby. It was the perfect escape, and we truly didn’t want to leave.This was by far the best stay we’ve ever had at a VRBO. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway!

Upon arriving, the grounds were absolutely stunning. Trees, beautiful flowers, a pond, goats, horses, big porch and behind the house a lovely sitting area. It is an 1817 built farmhouse but you won’t believe how gorgeous it is inside. Completely remodeled without removing the charm of the home. Amy even provided breakfast for us one morning. Would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Amy for everything. You made our stay delightful. *******

An exceptional weekend

Our daughter was getting married nearby and some of our family group stayed at this property. Our weekend included a 16 guest rehearsal dinner and a wedding flower arranging party. No one wanted to leave! I kept finding guests wandering the garden, visiting the horses, being entertained by the neighbor’s cow, goat and chickens or basking in the sun by the pond. The house is beautifully renovated, eclectically decorated and included the highest quality towels and sheets. The kitchen is well stocked and there was even a delicious loaf of sourdough bread, baked by Amelia, awaiting us. She was a gracious and accommodating host and we hope to return next year for a one year anniversary get-together!

Charming setting, thoughtful host

Four long-time friends reviving a pre-Covid tradition of an annual gathering in interesting places. This historic home is immaculate and thoughtfully designed, with a lovely garden patio overlooking a small pond and rolling hills--just perfect for early evening drinks & treats! An easy drive to Lancaster's galleries, restaurants, and Central Market. Equally easy to visit the Strasburg Model Train Village, or hit the outlet stores of the Tanger mall. Large bedrooms and bathrooms; helpful that one BR/BA is on the main floor. Possibly the best part was the host Amelia, whose welcome gift of freshly made sourdough bread & fruit infused cool water was excellent, as was the breakfast she provided one morning. We really enjoyed chatting with the hosts in addition to admiring the grounds and seeing the local sights. Easy to arrange, and hard to leave! Top marks all around.
