The place was very clean and exactly as described. It was comfortable and the neighborhood was great. It was perfect for our weekend getaway.

DONT STAY HERE . Go to a hotel. These people should have no clue how to run a business . VRBO should do better. I’ll never stay in a VRBO again. I got off the plane a 7:00pm I was at the house at about 8ish. Tried to contact the owner for hours . The final answer . Once answered they demanded ID of all the guest and demanded more money per guest . NEVER have I been charged per guest on a VRBO. What a nightmare that was trying get them to communicate prices. Mind you I’m still sitting in the drive way it’s now 9ish. VRBO is an absolute joke also . No help at all. After communicating for over 5 hours they finally gave us the code. 30 to 40 minutes between questions and answer. Thought I was being scammed The house furniture is all from goodwill . The beds and sheets are terrible . The beds are 1980 springs. The chairs to sit in smell. The mirror in the main bathroom looks like it was in a horror movie . The floors are so loud , if anyone moves upstairs it will wake you.I could keep going on and on . You get the picture . DONT STAY HERE .

Extended weekend at the cottage

Nice cottage. Could use waste basket in the primary bathroom Also little to no toilet paper. Winter time consider a bigger welcome mat and lastly better seating to watch tv.

This place has terrible lighting. One table lamp at front door to illuminate the entire living room. Only a bright light in kitchen plus one stove overhead light. Nothing over sink. Poor stair illumination.Upstairs is designed for a child despite queen bed. Tiny size toilet upstairs. Wall paper hanging off wall. (Circa one yard). Downstairs bathroom and shower GOOD. Downstairs bedroom OK.Stove does not appear to work. We tried to cook two pot pies at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. After 20 minutes they were TOTALLY BLACK.Rented this thinking we'd invite others. NEVER.

House was great; communication was a bit confusing.

Pros Was pleased with the accommodations. Nice and spacious for 3 adults. They had lots of good towels. Lots of pillows. AC control was great; Was comfortable. Good water pressure. Good location. Cons Communication was a bit confusing. There is no hot tub or futon as described. At least we didn’t see them. There were only 2 small shot glasses. No drinking glasses.

Sufficient

The house was fine for what we needed although the mattress in the downstairs bedroom was not very comfortable and neither was the couch. The textiles, rug in bedroom, comforter in bedroom, and some of the throw pillows were stained dirty, or just seemed nappy. The half glass partition in the shower allowed water to splash everywhere. I found it odd that our check in was strictly 4-6pm seeing as it was just a door code. Our flight was delayed so we didn’t get there until after 10pm but they did accommodate us and were responsive. Lastly, they told us they had the power turned on the day we checked in which made sense because the whole house smelled stale, for lack of a better term, when we got there. It was the middle of July so there was no air moving in there until we arrived.

Not what I expected

Looking forward to the Woodward Dreamcruise chose this location for the short distance. Check in process was overly cumbersome. Owners want copies of ID’s but provide no way to send it. Insist on doing everything via VRBO message board. No way to attach items. Very little amenities. No drinking glasses. Two small wine glasses. Very little in the way of kitchen appliances to do much of anything. The entire property is very cold and unwelcoming. No manual provided for additional instructions, local information. Check out instructions were vague and ambiguous. Had to read several times to have them make sense. There is NO hot tub. At least at the time of my listing it said there was a hot tub. I would find another option before staying here.

READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING

Location and neighborhood was awesome, but everything after that was poor. 1. The DAY of travel from out of state, the property manager demanded ID's from everyone staying at the property. However, there is no way to attach a file to the VRBO app. THIS IS LITERALLY 2 HOURS BEFORE WE WERE TO CHECK IN! We tried to call and text them, and they responded by saying that they DO NOT communicate other than through the VRBO app. 2. After explaining multiple times that I could not upload a file to VRBO mobile app, they demanded I email them to a random gmail address. (what happened to only communicating through the vrbo app?) This is extremely unsafe and sketchy, yet we had no choice since we were traveling with an 82 year old person. 3. NO HOT TUB as advertised. Modern, (for the 1970s.) 4. Literally 2 small wine glasses, and no drinking glasses. Had to tell family to bring their own! 5. The next day, the property manager tried contacting me multiple times from another random number. I texted them back and told them I was busy visiting with family. Then a few minutes later they showed up at the house!!!! Will not be using this house again. Unfortunate, because the location was perfect!

Modern Zen Farmhouse???

Excellent location and quiet neighborhood for our family to attend a graduation. "Modern" is not the word I would describe this property. Although it was clean and neat, all the furnishings are from the leftovers at Goodwill. But my main issue was with the check-in process. The day before check-in the host messaged me an EXTENSIVE list of "House Rules" that were not shown/provided in advance. Rules like "Empty all trash cans and place them in the garbage cans outside", "Place all linens in the washing machine", "Clean the dishes and sink", etc. So why I am paying a cleaning fee if I'm doing the cleaning? Host also required photo IDs from ALL guests, not just me. Imagine trying to get 5 other people to text/email me IDs less than 24 hours before check-in while traveling from LA, Reno and San Diego. Nowhere in the Vrbo disclosures does it say that ALL guests must provide photo IDs. Then to make it even more difficult/sketchy - there is NO option in the Vrbo iOS or PC app to attach a photo! I had to send them to the host's private email outside of the Vrbo messaging platform. This is ridiculous AND dangerous but we were left with no option, since the demand for IDs from all guests was less than 24 hours before check-in. I'm a landlord too and understand the need to protect and secure your property but not providing notice of "House Rules" in advance and the last minute "all guest photo IDs" requirement with no secure in-app way to submit them is a deal breaker for me.

HONEST & THOROUGH REVIEW:I hope it will help Owner/Management make this a 5-STAR all around place, because it could be with some VERY EASY updates. I stayed for 3 weeks after hip surgery. Location—PERFECT! The house set-up for me —PERFECT. It was clean. It was stocked with all basics. Tons of linens and dishes. All basic appliances (fridge is really loud—believe it’s going out). Nice Management staff. They should request ID sooner/upon booking.Here’s where updates are REALLY needed:One TV — can’t imagine this for a larger group. As others have mentioned— one lamp in living room (with yellow bulbs). So dark. Desperately needs a standing lamp in corner next to TV. No futon or spa/hot tub feature. THE FURNITURE IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM! Replace 4 wobbly dining chairs (1 arm is hanging off). Replace 2 broken chairs and bench in living room. Sofas are so bad my therapist said I couldn’t sit on them. Zero support — down to wood/metal. ALL of my visitors talked about how terrible the furniture felt. Kind of embarrassing. There wasn’t anywhere for my Mom to sit— a senior. I used the office chair. The mattress on lower level needs replacing. I had to sleep in the center of bed (sides are sagging), and I ordered a bed pad from Target to help. I didn’t see upstairs rooms. Replace fallen wallpaper. Spot clean walls and doors for prints and windows/ceiling/sky light for spider webs.I 100% would stay again, BUT only if furniture replaced. Potential is GREAT!
