Tucked away among towering pines, maples, and hickories, our charming retreat is the perfect spot to decompress and reconnect with nature, far from the city's hustle. Whether it's fishing, water skiing, sunbathing, swimming, hiking, or biking, it's all just outside our cozy abode. It's a place where families, friends, or couples can forge lasting memories in a unique setting. It's also an excellent venue for quilt and scrapbooking retreats, not to mention our exciting fishing tournaments.

Wake up early to savor your morning coffee on the back porch or deck, taking in the expansive 210-degree lake view. Stroll down to our private dock and watch the sunrise animate the lake. Spanning roughly 10,000 acres with a shoreline extending 120 miles, Lake Bob Sandlin is celebrated for trophy fishing and a rich array of wildlife, including ducks, coots, herons, and other birds. In winter, two bald eagles call our lake home. And let's not overlook the raccoons, squirrels, and deer! Whether you're fishing, boating, or simply lounging on the dock or by the lakeside, it's the perfect place to unwind. Indulge in a good book, soak in the stunning lake views, and enjoy a peaceful nap. Nearby Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant, and Pittsburg offer a bounty of antique shops and dining options, all a short drive away.

Our two-story log home boasts a vaulted ceiling with a stone fireplace and stands proudly on its authentic style stone foundation, offering stunning lake views. It features three bedrooms, two baths, and spans 1500 square feet, complemented by 1000 square feet of decks and porches, as well as a 1200 square foot boathouse. The cabin's woodsy charm is enhanced by custom stained glass, vintage artwork, and handcrafted log furniture. Sunlight streaming through the stained-glass windows adds warmth and vibrancy to our home. The dining area seamlessly connects to a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and blender, with a washer and dryer in the utility room. A large breakfast counter/food prep area features a mosaic of the Texas Flag and cleverly conceals a complete entertainment center with TV, YouTube TV, Netflix, DVD, and Video Game System, along with a selection of music, movies, and games. Wi-Fi is available. Should it rain, the back porch features rocking chairs, bench swing and dining for 6, making it the ideal spot to listen to the patter of rain on the tin roof.

Each bedroom is outfitted with comfortable queen-sized beds and smart televisions. The mattresses are recent and vary from plush to hybrid and memory foam models. The downstairs master bedroom, with antique furnishings, offers a splendid lake view—the perfect scene to wake up to. The two upstairs bedrooms—one overlooking the lake and the other the treetops—are equally inviting. Our property is ideal for couples, families, or a friends' getaway, comfortably accommodating six guests (three queen beds). While we permit up to eight guests, additional fees apply, and it's worth noting that extra guests often include children who bunk down in the living room using sleeping bags and air mattresses. Please note, our space will not sleep eight adults.

Seeking a romantic sitting spot and family gathering? During the cooler months, cozy up by the fireplace or enjoy our lakeside fire pit entertainment area, complete with chairs, loungers, and lighting, perfect for making s'mores. The fire pit is accessible only during the cooler months and remains closed from May 1 to October 1. Please contact me if you would like to use during the warmer months. Over the past few years, our lives have undergone significant changes. Many now work remotely or have the option to do so. Our high-speed internet enables you to stream TV or work office hours as needed. The master bedroom features a laptop desk with monitor, allowing you to work while enjoying views of the lake. The internet connection is robust enough for work on the back porch or deck, providing the flexibility to enjoy your time while staying productive. Note that internet connection may be inconsistent during poor weather conditions.

Our home is maintained with utmost cleanliness, and we supply essential cleaning and safety items. We invite our guests to assist in keeping the property clean during their stay. The cabin exudes a rustic charm with antique decor, offering modern amenities indoors while embracing the outdoors. If you're accustomed to 5-star hotels and are bothered by spider webs, fallen leaves, or the sounds of nature, our cabin might not meet your expectations. However, if you're looking for tranquility away from the city and a place to unwind from the city congestion and enjoy wildlife...our cabin is ideal.

We ask that you read and comprehend our updated guest and cabin policies. Failure to comply may result in the loss of your deposit and necessitate an early departure. The individual who booked through VRBO must be present during the stay. Renters must not book and pay for anyone other than themselves. While our cabin rules are extensive, they are rooted in common sense to safeguard the property and ensure a safe environment. We prohibit pets, smoking, and vaping on the property. Please adhere to the guest limit which is 6 unless approved prior to your arrival. Please note maximum number of guests is 8, day or night. Guests number more than six will require approval and subject to extra fees. Any increase in guest numbers must be updated and resubmitted through VRBO. For departure procedures, please consult the checklist provided.

Our home features steps, pathways, seawall, pier, and dock, making it unsuitable for the elderly, infants, or those requiring ADA accessibility. Please consider this before booking and throughout your stay.

In Texas, the weather is unpredictable, with conditions ranging from heat and cold to rain and ice. Should you anticipate weather impacting your plans, we advise checking the local forecast and planning accordingly.

Please manage all cancellations and schedule changes for arrival/departure through Vrbo. A minimum stay of three nights may be required from May 15 to September 10 (peak season) and during spring break and holidays. During the off-peak season, a two-night minimum stay applies, holidays excluded.
