The Acorn of Little Sand Bay Secluded, Wooded, and Dog Friendly!

Welcome to The Acorn!
This very peaceful Aframe cabin has a full-size kitchen with new appliances, modern-rustic bath with a walk-in shower, a loft area with a smart tv and comfy king size bed.
It is located on the top of the Bayfield peninsula, less than a mile from beautiful Little Sand Bay beach on Lake Superior, and approx12 minutes from Bayfield.
There are gorgeous hiking trails, such a Frog Bay Tribal National Park, located within minutes from the cabin. There are also marked walking trails directly on the property itself.
The cabin has a very efficient woodstove, which is the primary heat source, but it also has a minisplit for heat and air, if necessary.

This is such a cute cabin! Kristin has thought of EVERYTHING to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. The cabin is very well appointed with everything you need. The stairs to the loft are a little steep, our dog figured out sleeping close to the fire was more cozy than upstairs with us anyway! It wouldn't matter what time of year you visited this would make a great base for exploring a beautiful area. Thanks Kristin we hope to be back someday!

Everything we and our dog could have ever wanted. Perfect peace and quiet with tons of conveniences. This will be our go-to anytime we visit Bayfield County.

Perfect Northwoods Getaway

We had a lovely time staying at The Acorn with our two pups. Close to the beach, hiking trails and very cozy accommodations! Hope to visit again and enjoy the fall colors.

Kristen’s place was the relaxing getaway we didn’t know we needed. Such a well appointed cute space. Everything we needed and more. Great quality and comfort. The environment was peaceful and convenient to everything in spit of being so private. Loved our time there!

Wonderful stay

This property was perfect for my husband and I. It had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom/shower was amazing. Owner was super helpful! Highly recommend.

This is a gem! The owner added personal touches everywhere that are so thoughtful. It makes it very warm and inviting. The location was perfect to be close to activities but far enough away to provide peace, privacy and an opportunity to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. The home had everything we needed. We enjoyed time in the enclosed screen porch. We hope to come back next year!

The Acorn is truly special. My wife and I spent our 1st anniversary there and were sad to leave. It’s beautiful and peaceful. The cabin is immaculate with really nice amenities. I can’t say enough good things about it!

Great Little A-Frame

Had a great stay at the property. It’s tucked back in a nice quiet location near Bayfield. All expected amenities (and more), the furnishing gave the cabin a very premium feel. It was a very comfortable and cozy place to stay for the weekend. Kristen was a very communicative and great host as well. I would definitely recommend booking a stay.

Mini-Moon

My wife and I stayed here for a few days for our mini-moon. It was the perfect location from town. Plenty of cute things to do nearby, good hiking, and a great little oasis to start and end the day! The host did a great job of checking in throughout the trip and having everything set up when we arrived. I'd do it all over again!

Kristin is an amazing host! She took the extra time to talk through things to do, places to see and tricks to using the wood burning stove. She made sure the cabin was toasty warm when we arrived and impeccably clean. We will definitely be staying here again!

Beautiful Weekend

Wonderful Stay!

We wanted a time to getaway, relax, hike and enjoy God's creation. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful "rustic modern" A-frame in the woods. It had every amenity we could want. We were secluded, yet close enough to explore the area towns. We were sad to leave! Kristin was a friendly, accommodating and available host. We could tell that she truly cares! We definitely recommend this home for your next getaway in the northwoods of Wisconsin!

Modern get-away

The Acorn a-frame is the perfect spot for a couple. Beautiful details, great kitchen and bathroom make for a lovely basecamp for exploring around Bayfield. The cabin is new and in May 2023 the grounds are muddy after all the spring melt and rain. If you bring your dog be prepared to take your walks on the road to avoid the mud. Kristin provided dog towels and bowls which is a nice extra. We will be back - already planning to stay in July.
