Looking for the perfect vacation destination for your romantic getaway, or a fly fishing/drift, this is the place!

We feature this cottage located right on the Sacramento River. It has bedroom, 1 bath, dining room, living room and full kitchen. Laundry room, gated driver, internet and satellite TV. You have a view of the Sacramento River from every room, very secluded property, but right in the middle of town. Lush beautiful gardens on the property.

You are minutes from great food, activities (golf, tennis, basketball, kayaking, rafting), and the famous Sundial Bridge. There is a dock right outside your room, bring your fishing pole or schedule a drift. Beautifully furnished. Everything you need for your home away from home.

Rent by the day, week or month.

No pets. No Smoking.

If you need more space.......there is another upper level cottage that can be rented separately.

Great spot on the Sacramento

Great little house, very spacious. 1 bedroom, but has a couch for the third person. Kitchen is well stocked with items, and a dining room. There are two sweet patio spots outside. 1 down by the river that has steep cement steps leading to the water, it also has a gate with a high lock. Nice when the littles visited us. The other is to the side and was very comfortable and out of the sun. Be aware, there are spiders and their webs all along the river and in the trees. They don't bother with you. I really enjoyed the week here.

Quiet and beautiful

We stayed at the river house for two weeks during July. It was over 100 degrees most days, inside our place was cool and extremely comfortable. Being on the river was a incredible nightly show with geese and a few river otters! I not only recommend it, I plan to come back!

Peaceful and beautiful!

The cottage was perfect with everything you could possibly need. Views were amazing, beautiful flowers and the river from every room. Loved everything about our experience.

Perfect Labor Day weekday!

Jonathan's Trout Lodge was the perfect hideaway for my wife and me while we visited family in the area. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings completed the "fishing lodge" motif. Shannon met us the first day but Dweeba, the wiener dog, greeted me nearly every morning for the treats I had for him.

Great Place To Stay In Redding

Exceeded our expectations! My wife and I love this place. We came to Redding to visit our Great Granddaughter and was so happy to have such a great place to call home while we were there. The owners are more than accommodating and we loved the dogs and were happy to give them treats. The view is spectacular and very relaxing. We stayed in Jonathon's Trout Lodge, the lower cottage but checked out the upper unit and would stay in either. We are Seniors so prefer the lower so we don't have to take the luggage up stairs. Love Shannon, such a nice person! We will definitely stay here again when we come back! We also got in some sight seeing while we were there, plenty to see and do in and around the Redding area.

Great spot

My brothers, father and I stayed at the cottage recently for a mancation fishing trip. Everything about the place was exactly what we were hoping for: 1. It is right on the river with access to great fishing 2. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well furnished (we comfortably slept 4) 3. The price is right 4. The owner Shannon is nice and relaxed 5. There are 2 nice dogs on the property including one little weiner dog named Tweega that, if he warms up to you enough, may try to become an adopted member of your group. All in all, I can't say enough great things. We plan on coming back for mancation part II in April!

Lovely, Relaxing Retreat

My husband and I stayed for the month of December in Jonathan's Trout Lodge, the lower cottage. The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed. The setting is beautiful, on the river and with lovely grounds. Location is gated, private and quiet. Shannon and Todd were terrific hosts. While they were very helpful and available when needed, they were not at all intrusive. We rarely even saw their well behaved children. Their dogs are friendly but stay away unless you feed them which I did because I like dogs. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Beautiful! Even better than we expected.

4 of us met here for a girls trip. The grounds are so picturesque and the balcony looks out over the river. The cottage is clean, stylish, roomy and comfortable. We cooked several meals and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The owners struck a great balance of being available to answer questions but yet giving us the space to enjoy a quiet vacation. Would recommend to others and stay again myself if in Redding.

Great Vacation!

We just returned to England after an amazing week in Redding! Myself, my wife and my daughter (4) stayed at the house for 9 nights, enjoying a really peaceful, comfortable home away from home. The property is well run, Shannon & Todd are great hosts, and we were made to feel really welcome. Location is great, close to several routes through and around Redding, as well as being only a minute from I-5. We will definitely come again, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful get-a-way close to everything

This is wonderful place on the Sacramento River. We stayed in Madeline's cottage (uptairs) and really enjoyed our stay. Very accomodating and private. We were pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it over a stay in area hotels that charge just as much. The grounds and cottage were clean, well kept and we felt very safe. Thank you for making our short vacation a memorable one!

This is a family that loves where we live and would like others to enjoy the beautiful setting on the Sacramento River in the cottage on our property. We enjoy gardening and entertaining in our spare time. We both work full time in the insurance industry in Redding. We both grew up in the area and have fallen in love with Shasta Lake, the Sacramento River and everything this small community has to offer. We welcome you to stay at the 'River House'.

The property is beautiful. You are right on the waterfront. You can access the river with the dock and keep kayaks, canoes and drift boats right in the water. There are no other houses across from our property so you are surrounded with beautiful trees and nature. You can experience ducks, otters, beavers, turkeys, deer and birds of every variety, including bald eagles.
