Welcome to The River Side Lodge at the Palisades! Relax and fish by the the river on your own private dock, roast marshmallows by the fire, play in our game room, grill out over looking the beautiful view, or just cuddle up on the couch Netflix and chill šŸ˜Ž This property offers fun for the whole family, or a sweet get away for couples. While this area is a quiet little getaway surrounded by nature, it is only a 25 minute drive from Lexington and 15 minutes from Nicholasville! The road leading to the property is a gravel back road please note it is a bumpy drive!

Nice Home by the River

We really enjoyed our stay on the Kentucky River. We saw a bald eagle, deer, and heard an owl some nights. My kids enjoyed the game room downstairs and the fire pit outside. It was a pleasant little retreat.

Nice getaway

Nice cabin on the river. Good place to chill. Good for small groups. Easy to get the neighboring towns. Very pretty surrounding area. Be ready for a bumpy final road to the property (owner did tell us this).

River side lodge

Property was great, quiet and peaceful. Wonderful views of the river and cliffs. Star gazing at night and early morning, limited view being in the woods, but almost zero light pollution is awesome. It is also located within close proximity of any activity you want, but be careful sitting on the back deck taking in the view, may take up your time...lol

Perfect Retreat for Thanksgiving

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the house and open floor plan worked wonderfully for us and our pups. The location was quiet (we heard several owl families 'talking' to each other at dusk) and yet fairly close to the many distilleries we visited. Because it was rainy and chilly, we didn't get to enjoy the river activities - maybe next time! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us and our pups.

We enjoyed our time there. The area is beautiful and close to things we wanted to see. The road is rough so you really need a SUV or truck. Our host fixed a problem we had when we arrived. She was such a sweet person. Thank you for all you done.

Great Experience

The house was very clean, she had wax warmers on for a nice scent all through the house. the road was extremely bumpy but that was in the description so no complaints here. the dock view was beautiful. some fire wood would have been nice to have though considering it did rain when we were there. overall a great experience!

Great stay at Ericaā€™s place!

We loved our time at this Kentucky Riverside Retreat! Space was comfortable and spaceous, clean, and well maintained. Just an FYI for others, the dock is about 5 feet above the water surface. It did not make it easy to launch kayaks as there was not flat ground. Not sure if the water level was lower than normal, but you may want to bring a ladder or some mechanism to get into the water. Thanks for the great stay!

Lovely view

Enjoyed the deck and swings. Dock was too mud covered to use. Road to home was difficult but in an SUV was OK. Clean and cozy home with cute decor. Game room was fun but needed garage door open to air out. Dog friendly with plenty of room to roam. Host was timely and helpful.

Perfect for us

This was a great place. The owner was responsive and very sweet. For a 1 bedroom, we found it spacious and everything we needed. Itā€™s a bit of a steep walk down to the dock, but we surely enjoyed sitting in the camp chairs and watching the river flow by. The screening on the enclosed porch leaves a bit to be desired, and the couches, while comfortable, were patched. The road in off of the main road is a tad more potholed than ā€œbumpy,ā€ but we made it in there with regular sedansā€¦you just need to go slow! Overall, Iā€™d stay there again. We were there for a graduation from Asbury, and found the location incredibly convenient.

The house was nice and clean and everything we needed was provided, however, the odor coming from the basement permeated the air around the house outside with a very musty smell. The downstairs was advertised as a game room, but that area should be cleaned and sealed off as when we opened the door the odor smelled extremely moldy. The hostess was very nice and the technology in the house was modern and convenient.

Road to the house off a regular road was crazy bumpy! Would never try to navigate in the dark. Inside home is well laid out and nice and bed comfortable. Refridge starting buzzing very loudly second day. We defrosted it and it was fine. Appreciated owners help in navigating TV!

Relaxing

The house was very clean and met our needs very well. The back deck is perfect for a quiet afternoon watching the river. My son saw a bald eagle the first morning there! The home is comfortable and peaceful. The only negative is the road. There were potholes that could swallow a small car. However, as long as you have a suv or truck you can get through, but still a very bumpy ride. Overall this house was lovely and our experience was very positive. The host was very responsive and nice.

Quiet location

Host communication was excellent! There were a few issues and she was very on top of correcting them for us! Well stocked with paper towels, sheets, soap, towels, Toilet paper, etc. Even had a few snacks for us. Overall, we felt the property description was not accurate. We read in the reviews a "bumpy" road and the host mentioned it in the arrival notes but if you have a low car you probably won't make it in over all the potholes. We have a 2021 SUV and it was so bumpy a screw fell out of my visor! Not having Wi-Fi or the capability to stream would have been a hard NO for us selecting a place. We didn't know about the Hot Spot situation until we got the arrival notes. One in our party travels for work and uses Hot Spot often but we couldn't even watch a video on the phone. Except for the coffee maker, the Interior was clean and ready but the outside not. Screens torn, entry dirty, couch was old and patched, couldn't get to the dock (we think the water level was too high) outside chairs had missing and broken straps so we didn't sit down. We just stayed upstairs inside. Overall, the location is lovely it just needs some TLC to be Outstanding.
