Rental Cabin with Fishing Privileges in Stocked Pond

Discover the unique experience and rustic charm of a cabin and pond setting in the beautiful piney woods of Beaver Creek, Louisiana. The natural surroundings create the perfect setting for a family getaway, offering an adventure with nature that everyone will remember for a lifetime.

The cabin and pond are located on the 130 acre Guillory Farm in a small community called Beaver Creek in South Central Louisiana in Evangeline Parish. This area of Louisiana looks similar to East Texas with tall stately pine trees and dogwood and redbud trees growing into the landscape.

The appeal of the cedar boarded Colorado-styled cabin begins with a front porch with a swing, and a huge wood deck which features a swing and comfortable rocking chairs, and a spectacular view of the four acre fishing pond and natural surroundings. The cabin includes air conditioning and heating systems for the comfort of all guests. The main bedroom features two queen beds, while a smaller bedroom has a bunk bed, ideal for the younger family members (you have to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bunk room). A guest can enjoy the extra large lounge chairs while watching a variety of videos on the flat screen television. The kitchen offers a full sized stove, oven and microwave. Guests are reminded that fish frying and crawfish boiling is restricted to the outdoor area. Smoking inside the cabin is strictly prohibited.

The pond has been generously stocked with black bass, copper nose blue gill fingerlings and redear/shellcracker (referred to as chinquapin in Louisiana). The blue gills are automatically fed multiple times daily utilizing Purina Aqua Max high protein fish food, while the black bass diet consists of small blue gill, fat head minnows and crawfish. As of 2010, Hybrid Stripped Bass have been added to the pond for fishing enjoyment and are ā€œcatch and releaseā€ only. This bass do not reproduce so it is imperative that they be released back in to the pond.

My wife and I have family in the area. Visited family and just relaxed. The cabin was perfect and the grounds and pond were very well groomed. Will visit again soon.

Peaceful and lovely cabin!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights visiting a friend. We loved fishing and playing basketball and how you can see so many stars out by the pond at night! Pretty boring town but the cabin is only 15 mins from oakdale one way and Ville platte the other. No wifi, but plenty of games and dvds we entertained ourselves with when it rained! We will surely come back next time we visit our friend.

Such beautiful property away from all of the hustle and bustle!

My family and I along with my dad and my broker and his family spent the weekend here and had such a great time. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We loved the views and the large yard/land for the kids to play without staying in our feet. We will be back!

November Trip

Everything was so beautiful-we were able to see deer and squirrels and armadillos and egrets and red headed woodpeckers. The trees at this time of year are changing colors. We had a really great time. Relaxation was number one!!

Our second time here, and it was just as wonderful as the first. Plenty of bass and perch for the kids to catch. The bass are catch and release. Wet sat by fire and watched them have a ball. This cabin is lovely for a long weekend with the family. Great times, great memories.

I was so fortunate to have ā€œstumbled uponā€ this fantastic property! My teen daughters said all they wanted to do was go fishing for vacation - and did we ever fulfill that wish!! The cabin is perfect and the landscape is phenomenal. What a wonderful time we had! Donā€™t miss out on the sunrises!!!

Nice break from the city

We had a great weekend here getting away from the noise of living in New Orleans. The property itself is gorgeous, and the cabin is well stocked with anything you need for the stay (including entertainment). Itā€™s a short drive to town for supplies, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a basketball half court around back! We donā€™t fish, but do love being in nature. Itā€™s a nice stay for a couple or a family. We would love to come back!

Just what we needed

So peaceful and beautiful this place is what I would call a little honey hole if you are the time to enjoy the outdoors and donā€™t like driving hours to get to your destination this is a GEM also at first glance the pond doesnā€™t look big until you start beating the banks 2 hours to fish the entire pond and that was pushing also let me mention the water quality is well maintained the bass although no big bass on this trip plenty of lb lb1/2 to keep you busy I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE AND WE WILL BE DEFINITELY COMING BACK

Beautiful. With that pond great place to test the skills of Your Grandchildren in the way of fishing and hiking. They had a blast and so did their Dad and I. One could tell You o go do this or that but all you really have to do is enjoy. It all falls into place as Long as You the Adult keep things moving or slowing down (That slowing down comes around about 8:30 pm) BEAUTIFULL!!

Beautiful property! Enjoyed sitting by the pond and fire pit. It ia right across the street from an old country store that has awesome plate lunches. We visited Chicot State Park and also the Southern Farm Heritage Museum. Both are just a short drive away. Great place to get away. Peaceful and secluded.

We absolutely loved this place! It's very cozy and relaxing. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable and smelled amazing! Kids loved the kayaking and fishing and playing basketball! They also have a new little country store across the highway so you don't have to go to far for anything!

Absolutely loved the place

The cabin has that nice cabin esthetic that I love, not too dated not too new. Absolutely massive piece of property with a firepit on the water front. Incredibly sized pond with good fishing, hiking trail, and basketball area. Board games and cards inside, spacious living area and kitchen with a nice dining table/island. The location is incredible, secluded enough to not be bothered by neighbors but close enough to the stores to not feel inconvenient. The only thing i could complain about is the railings structural quality to be questionable. Overall I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here and I myself would stay here again and again.
