Very nice quiet place during the week. Plenty of nice fish in the lake to catch. Clean and enjoyable stay overall. Neighbor cabin was a little noisy on the weekend with kids and dogs. That was the only drawback.

It was perfect. We loved the view of sundog lake. We were lucky to hear the loons! Our furbabies traveled with us and played in the lake. I caught a bass right from the dock. It is centrally located and allowed us to take day trips and return in time for the most amazing sunsets. You could easily make the cabin stay your whole vacation though with plenty to do on the lake!

We love the cozy Yukon cabin! The kids love the loft bedrooms. The kitchen has everything you need. Best of all, the fish are always biting. The lake is perfect for swimming with the kids, fishing, and kayaking. Bugs are always an issue outside but that is to be expected in such a beautiful, rural area. We are so glad we went back for a second visit!!

Beautiful Cottage

This was a great place to stay. We loved the central location for day trips to the Keweenaw, Marquette, Wisconsin, and much more! The lake is beautiful and peaceful. There was no wifi available, but it was hardly missed with so much to explore. We would recommend this property!

We really enjoyed our time at this little lake cabin. We spent our time paddling around the beautiful and quiet Sundog Lake, floating by the dock, and lounging on the back deck. It's a wonderful location, deep in the woods. Coming from the city, it took a minute to adjust to the levels of quiet, and the darkness of the night skies, it's truly a tranquil place. We loved our time here and highly recommend it!

Quiet nature with all the conveniences we wanted. Everything was so clean, and the owner was thorough and responsive throughout the entire booking. Also, the decor was updated and comfortable. It felt like home in no time!

Lakeside Cottage in Republic, MI

This cottage was very cozy and well stocked with what you would need. The Owners are friendly and responsive. If someone is looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this cottage would be great! Views of the lake are gorgeous.

Beautiful views

A tranquil place to decompress. The lake view is priceless, gorgeous sunsets. Great fishing bass blue gill and sunfish and they like hotdogs. Had a small issue and the owners were on top of the problem and made it right.

Hi Larry, I'm so glad you enjoyed our place. I want to publicly apologize to you and address the issue for future potential guests. We learned that the vent stack to the cottage was likely clogged and the result was a strong sewer smell in the bathroom, and main bedroom. When we were notified of the problem, we got a plumber out there immediately who couldn't find the problem, but yet, wouldn't go on the roof. The next available plumber couldn't come out for two days. Yesterday our cleaner and the plumber did not smell the sewer smell, but the plumber said it was entirely possible it was clogged for a couple days and for whatever reason, unclogged itself. He reinforced some joints that *could* have been the cause but not definitive. All that aside, I want to apologize to you, Larry, and your wife for that inconvenience. Vacations are important and well earned, and you deserved a peaceful retreat without enduring an awful smell. I want to thank you for your kindness and understanding while I attempted to rectify the problem. We hope to see you back next summer!

We had an excellent stay. The cottage was just as described and had everything we needed for making meals (which is essential as there really are no restaurants nearby). The Starlink proved reliable too and my wife was even able to run a vidoe call.The paddling was great on Sundog and Little Sundog Lake. We saw a fair bit of wildlife including a pretty close up bear sighting. The cottage was clean and the bed we used quite comfortable. Probably the best endorsement we can give is that we plan to stay here again.

Peaceful

Perfect for a family of four. We spent time at the house playing games, watching movies, kayaking on the lake, and seeing bald eagles. We took some day trips to Iron Mountain iron mine, porcupine mountains, and Bond falls. My family and I enjoyed our stay very much

Beautiful, secluded lake

We loved our time at Yukon Cottage! The owner was very helpful and informative. We caught a TON of bass and bluegill with an occasional crappie and perch. The lake is so quiet and the wildlife was great. Be sure to follow Kristen's directions since GPS gave us incorrect ones. We would definitely stay at Yukon again!!

Absolutely Ethereal

This cottage is the idyllic spot to either relax and enjoy nature and solitude or as a home base to travel the UP. We chose to enjoy the peace and quiet and only did one day trip to Ishpeming and Marquette. I cant wait to return!! Thank you Kristin and Dave

Adorable little cottage in a perfection location. We spent a day chasing waterfalls and checking out Marquette. And a day hiking in the Porcupine Mountains. We even took one day just to relax at the cottage and kayak and fish. Sundog Lake was so beautiful and the boys caught perch, bass, and bluegill. I loved sitting by the fire and enjoying the view of the lake. The cottage was extremely clean, had comfy beds, a fully stocked kitchen, and a hot shower. And the price was better than staying at a hotel. We loved our time on Sundog lake!

Beautiful, secluded, home away from home

This was such a cute cabin incredibly clean and over all just gives you the comfort of being at home while away from home. The view from the porch was breath taking. We hope to stay again next year! The host was also amazing, our GPS wasnt working because of limited cell service. The host sent us the directions ahead of time thankfully!!! Thank you again for making our family vacation AMAZING!!!

Sun Dog get away

Kristen the host of our stay is absolutely amazing, I cannot say enough great things about her! Her communication is excellent, she truely cares about your stay. She thinks of everything you need to have fun and even more! We are very lucky to have found a host that cares and provides an over the top experience. If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful getaway book with her you will not be disappointed!
