Parkin's Dollar Point Rustic Cabin

Lake views can be enjoyed from almost every window in this comfortable four-bedroom, two-bath vacation rental home in prestigious Dollar Point. There are two living areas in this large home, with open beam ceilings separated by a large stone fireplace. Each living area has a flat-screen TV. There is access to the spacious and sunny deck from both living areas, where you can relax in the sun or catch a glimpse of the lake: There is a large garage, and plenty of parking in the driveway. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a large dining room table. The master bedroom can be found on the top floor just off of the dining area. It has a queen-sized-sized bed and a full bathroom. Downstairs, you will find the garage access and a laundry room. The first of three guest bedrooms has a Queen size bed. The second guest bedroom has a Double-sized bed. The third guest bedroom is furnished with a sleeper sofa bed and a desk for a private workspace. There is also a full bath on this level. There is Wifi at this house. Short drive to Tahoe City for fine dining, shopping and entertainment. Good location for winter skiing with nearby Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Homewood ski resorts.
*This is an older home in Tahoe there is taxidermy on the walls and spiders love it(no matter how much we clean), if you are not ready for this experience please do not rent this house.

***Dollar Point recreation amenities: beach, pool, tennis courts, playground are not available to renters, unless rental stay is for 31 nights or more which will require a signed lease agreement, $5000 deposit and $50 processing fee. Please contact us for more details.

All of our rentals come with fully equipped kitchens; most kitchens do not have pantry items due to wildlife concerns. We provide all linens and towels; most units have beach towels as well. There is a washer and dryer in every rental. Every unit has Wi-Fi. There is NO A/C, this is not commonly found in Tahoe, there are fans.

This cabin is the perfect spot for a family getaway. It's less than a 5-minute drive to Tahoe City, where you can find everything you need.

Spacious and cozy home with excellent location

The property manager communicated well for our first Air B and B experience. Property clean, spacious and pet friendly with area in front and back to spend time with our dog. Excellent experience and well recommended.

Love This Retro Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was spotless, well appointed with kitchen wares, linens etc. The sauna was so nice to relax in. The only complaint was master bed was old. The other beds were great. We would definitely stay here again!!

Quirky cabin fun

We really enjoyed staying here. We had 2 families staying and the layout of the house with 3 bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs worked out perfectly. The furniture, windows, and bathrooms/kitchen are old and dated but clean and in working order. The location is beautiful with views of the lake from the deck and inside the house.

Loved it!

This house is beautiful and so is the neighborhood. Itā€™s a classic lake community withe a cute town nearby. House was very clean and allowed us to bring our dogs. Property manager was really responsive and friendly. Listing talked about spiders but we saw none at all. Super clean!

A few things

Great place to stay but need a few things. Like soap for the shower, doesnā€™t need two different kinds of shampoo/conditioner. Some oil for the kitchen and maybe tin foil, but besides that it was pretty well stocked. Appreciate the accommodations with getting us in early for grandpas sake.

Accommodating home

The house felt like a home with family photos and decorations. It was a good size for accommodating my family. The deck has patio furniture including a picnic table large enough to have about a dozen people sit comfortably. The stove, which had one working burner, was fixed within a few hours of being reported. Lots of room in the 2 living areas and kitchen, yet cozy. I found the 2 taxidermy animals fascinating to look at.

Everything was great except for the beds. No one slept well the first night. Each couple identified issues with the bed they were sleeping in: wrong size sheets/blankets on a queen, too hard/stiff, and mattress leans to center of bed. The second night, we all stayed up until exhausted and then we all slept ā€˜betterā€™. Aside from the beds, the cabin was excellent! Old and rustic! It was great!

Wonderful Winter Vacation!

My extended family and I spent an amazing week at the start of '24 at this wonderful property. The other reviews are quite correct, it is a lovingly maintained vintage 1970's feeling Tahoe home. All the best parts of that style of era and home are here, vintage intercom included! The home was clean, warm, and inviting and proved a great base for skiing and other winter adventures, as well as nice family time by the fireplace playing games and enjoying company. There were only a couple minor issues we encountered, namely that the wrong key was left for us at the property when we arrived but that was resolved near immediately by the host. Also the house book could use an update as it has some confusing/conflicting information in it but that is quite minor. Would absolutely recommend this house!

New Yearā€™s Stay

Really enjoyed the place. It definitely has an older feel. But we liked it. The view is more than we expected. Enjoyed looking out over the lake. But be advised. Kitchen was missing a lot of staples youā€™d expect. The tea kettle was rusted. There was only one measuring cup which made it hard to bake. There were a lot of supplies and condiments which were appreciated, but other things youā€™d expect in a kitchen were just not there. The beds were uncomfortable. The bedding and blankets are just old. Pillows flat. Appreciated it being a pet friendly environment so we could bring our dog. But it didnā€™t have that lots of pets have stayed there feel, if thatā€™s of any concern. All that being said, we would stay here again. We would just bring more of our own kitchen supplies and blankets and pillows.

A Decent place in a great location

Overall the stay was great but was not as nice as anticipated. I will say the location is unbeatable and the views from the house are gorgeous, as well as ample room inside for our stay. To be open and honest for future renters there were a few things we didn't like: The locks on the front door didn't work with the initial key, and after calling to get a location for a second key, and minutes of trying, we were able to get in. Although the house was nice, you certainly are walking through a time warp to the 70's as soon as you walk in the door. Taxidermy isn't an issue for us, but I wish it was more clearly explained that the master bedroom has a massive deer/antelope head mounted so that it perfectly stares you head on in the eyes when you sleep. Additionally we were not provided any extra toilet paper for our 4 night stay with 5 guests so we had to runout to get more.
