Hi Robin, We do have a motion activated doorbell camera, which we do not try to hide. The camera is in place for both guest and property safety, and is not constantly monitored but is viewed when we receive multiple alerts of movement, as was the case in this instance. It is clearly written in our house rules and on the metal sign posted by the driveway that no vehicles are to drive or park on the grass. As I noticed a red vehicle with both driver side tires parked in the grass right beside the “no parking in grass please” sign, I did ask you to move the vehicle as quickly as possible. With recent flooding, a car in the grass could destroy the yard. I know because it has happened at this property in the past. It is also stated in the house rules that there are to be no parties or events hosted at this property. When I noticed 5-6 cars in the driveway, as a courtesy I sent a message immediately following the previous message saying, “This is a reminder that any guests that stay overnight should be included in the booking.” I never even mentioned nor accused you of hosting an event. Lastly, we regularly ask guests staying on Sunday evening to take the outdoor trash can to the road as it picks up early on Monday. No one has ever complained about this request, but we will review this policy for consideration. I apologize that this small occurrence ruined your trip. I hope you were still able to enjoy your family.
