Enjoy the best hidden secret in southern Wisconsin, Lauderdale Lakes. It's just 90 minutes north of Chicago and 15 minutes north of Lake Geneva and offers great water skiing, tubing, wake boarding and fighing & boating. This spring fed lake is one of the cleanest and more private lakes in southern Wisconsin.

Great place for a get away. The owners are very nice and helpfull

Very relaxing place. The owners have a kayak that you can use to "visit" the lake. The place is very clean and everything you need is in there. The AC is making some noise but it was not that bad. Thanks again for this weekend!

Just what we were looking for!

We had an amazing week! This was our first getaway since December and post quarantine and we had great weather, beautiful sunsets and a lot of time in the water!! The location could not have been any better for paddle boarding and kayaking. The cottage was perfect in every way. Thanks for the best week in a VERY long time!!

Very nice little cabin on a beatiful lake!

First of all the cabin is super clean. The lake is one of the nicest around - great view also. The cabin is older, but has some updates, it is a good value for the price. The neighborhood is very nice. Kelly is easy to deal with for check-in and details. Eva the property manager is very helpful too. As mentioned the cabin is smaller, It's probably not the best choice if you have small kids and the weather gets bad. This is a very nice little clean cabin with a great view in a safe area. Can't beat it for the price, for sure.

Just What We Needed....

My friends and I found this place while searching for a substitute for a "Guys/Lake/Golf"-weekend location, after our mainstay had fallen through at the last minute. It had everything we needed: Lake Views, Proximity to a Golf Course, Swimming Raft, BBQ Grill, and Shore Fishing, (ask me about the Largemouth that got away!) The entire point of our trip was just to get away from the city and just do "nothing" for awhile, and I can safely say mission accomplished. Play 18holes in the morning, come back for lunch, take a dip in the lake and just relax and catch up with old roommates over some beer and bbq---perfect. Weekends like these in a house like this is EXACTLY why I envy lake house owners so much. I'm lucky to have found this place.

Quiet, clean, accommodating…but absolutely not a family ‘cabin’ destination.

Our family stayed here over Independence Day ’11 and made it a great time. The owners are pleasant, accommodating, and the property is small, very neat and clean. Had we known the rest of the story though, we would have chosen not to stay here. You should know that the ‘cabin’ is located six feet from the main house, and the driveway, small backyard, stairs to dock and dock are shared. The owners are nice people, but understand you’ll be vacationing ‘with’ them. Things that are misrepresented by the ad/pictures include 1) outdoor space – the back yard is very small and, without a beach, the only place for a small group to be outside. 2) Dock – the dock does not have a wider platform or slide at the business end. 3) The kitchen is much less than ‘full’ – there is small refrigerator, cook-top, but no oven. There are plenty of plates, but bring your own pots and pans, silverware, grilling gear etc. 4) the main house has wifi and your connectivity in the cabin is TBD. Things you may expect in a cabin experience that didn’t exist include: 1) place for outdoor seating and (no) fire-pit to relax in the evening, cook marshmallows etc., 2) picnic table or place for outdoor meals. I’m sure the owners could address some of these points; however, our experience suggests the property is great for area lodging, but without the main house can’t provide the cabin vacation experience.

Perfect little place for weekend at the lake (without kids)

I'm originally from the area, and rented this home with my two sons (11 and 14) so that we could have lake time with local family and friends. It was a very comfortable and clean little cabin with a beautiful view and access to the lake. It had everything we needed for a long weekend. There's a charcoal grill, cook top, microwave, and small refrigerator. The bathroom is updated. We didn't need to run the A/C, but there's a wall unit in the family room. We used the extra pier for fishing and to dock our two wave runners, and we enjoyed the swimming raft. There's also access to a canoe (we didn't use it). Based on reviews, we were prepared for the request to limit our water usage, which wasn't a big deal. The property manager was very pleasant, helpful, and communicative once we arrived, but I do wish we had more interaction at the time of booking (see below). If you plan to have any day visitors (my mom and cousin joined us for dinner), parking is an issue. It was easily remedied by the property manager (with access to offsite parking), but the owner of the home was less than hospitable about the fact that we had temporarily parked 3 cars. We had only just arrived 45 minutes earlier, and were still getting settled in. Then, as I was hurrying to drive my car offsite, I received a text. The owner (through the manager) expressed her displeasure about the boys hanging on the dock where the boats were stored. Once we understood the rules, it seemed to go more smoothly. I'm a considerate person and a professional. I appreciate that we're guests and there are rules, but at the start of our stay, I felt a bit unwelcome. Perhaps this is because they prefer no children? This is something I explicitly asked about when I booked (but I never received a response from the property manager). If no children are allowed, it's hard to understand why there's a room with twin bunk beds. In sum, I won't return because we've got kids and I don't need the stress of feeling like they're unwelcome. However, it's a very nice place to spend a weekend at the lake. I would recommend it for adults.

Peaceful and lovely!

We had a short stay at this wonderful cabin last week and it is just as described...beautiful waterfront view and access. Clean, warm swimming/boating/paddling lake and cabin was pristine! Owners were very communicative and kind...I would highly recommend this spot for a quiet, restful getaway!

Some good some not so good

The house was small but we were two people so it was fine for us. The pictures on the website were not entirely accurate. It showed a large sectional that looked capable of allowing two people to lay on it and watch TV. There was just a regular sofa and one chair. On the plus side, the actual TV was WAY BETTER than the one on the pictures.l As for cleanliness, my main complaint is that with COVID-19 everything should be done to insure sanitary conditions are top notch. The beds had fitted sheets but NO top sheets! This meant that we slept with the comforter directly on our skin and at our faces. There should have been a top sheet that could be washed each time new guests arrived. And although the silverware appeared clean, the drawers and trays it sat in were dirty. We ended up washing several sets of forks, spoons, etc and leaving them on the counters so we knew which ones we had washed.. There were only 2 pots (stock pot and one 2 to 3 quart pot) and 2 frypans (the large one was very stained/rusted and unusable so we went to Walmart and bought a large frypan to use and took it home with us). In fairness to the owners we did not bring any of this to their attention. We probably should have. They were very accommodating. We did not swim in the lake so I will not review the lake. There are a lot of steps leading to the lake so do not bring anyone who cannot handle them. There is a pier but no beach. The area is nice but with COVID we did not go too many places. No one's fault...just the way it is. We did go to 2 wineries in the area that were really nice.

Lake Life is the best!

Had a wonderful experience in my recent stay. The cabin is the perfect size and came fully stocked with everything we needed for a social distancing week away from the city! The lakefront is gorgeous and the property was easy to find. Kelly and Frank were wonderful hosts! Thanks so much for the much needed break!

Amazing week at the lake!

We had a wonderful time relaxing at the lake. Hosts were great. We were able to dock our boat at the property and enjoyed fishing, tubing and swimming. Cottage had everything we needed and was perfect for the 3 of us that stayed there. We would definitely stay again!

This little home is on a beautiful spot on Lauderdale Lakes! The home is simple but has every thing you need and was nice and clean plus you will find yourself outside quite a bit as it does sit on the lake. Hope to return!

Better than the pictures.

This is a great little cabin on a beautiful lake. Everything is clean and organized. We enjoyed playing bean bags in the little yard and floating around the swimming dock in the lake. We grilled outside every evening and relaxed on the property as waves lapped the shore. We spent Friday night at Alpine Valley for a concert. The cabin was a short drive from the venue and the perfect place to crash after the show. Eva, the property manager was great. She met us on Thursday, showed us the property and left us to enjoy ourselves. This is a guest house and is shared with the home owners. They were very welcoming and allowed us space to do our own thing. Thank you for letting us stay. We had a blast!

Great lake cottage

I really enjoyed staying at the cottage. Lauderdale Lakes are beautiful and great for swimming. The cottage was cozy and everything was as advertised. There was a great view of the lake.

Pretty View and Very Clean

We had a 4 night stay at this property. It worked fine for our purpose of visiting family and seeing Green Lake again. Nice screened in windows so you can enjoy a breeze. The electric cook top worked well as did the microwave. Plenty of bath towels and kitchen dishes. They need to add better lighting for readers, some hot pads and kitchen towels, a tea pot and one more big pot for boiling pasta. Furniture is so-so in terms of comfort. This is the best lake in Southern Wisconsin (in my opinion) for swimming. We enjoyed seeing a hummingbird! Thank you.

Great Views - Relaxing Weekend!!

Great house, great views! We spent most of the days outside on the stationary dock and floating dock, listening to the radio (we brought), swimming and relaxing. The house is the perfect size for 4 people (which is the max to stay overnight). If you had visitors during the day I'd say it'd get a bit crowded inside, but if you are spending time inside on a beautiful day then you're doing something wrong :) Excellent communication before and during the stay. A few things I'd note; there is limited parking (2 spots as noted in the description), so if able, car pool. There is additional parking about 5 minutes away, but if you want to avoid the car swap, limit yourselves to two vehicles. They also have a canoe on site that we utilized! It was a tons of fun, but it's a bit of a workout to get it to and from the lake, so bring muscles!!! Overall great stay, we'd definitely go back.
