Escape to this private, newly built log cabin in the woods, just minutes from town. Enjoy modern amenities for a relaxing stay or quiet remote work. Cozy up by the fireplace, watch a movie, or unwind in the outdoor hot tub under the stars after exploring nearby slopes or trails. Nestled in the heart of Northern Michigan Vacationland, endless adventures await right at your doorstep.

Pet-Friendly Home
Pets are welcome only when added correctly during booking. Please be sure to select the pet option when making your reservation so the pet fee is automatically applied.
Pet fee: $20 per night, plus tax. Reservations showing “no pets” will be updated if pets are disclosed later.

Enjoy the tranquility of the woods at this cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bath Lakes of the North cabin. Relax in the private outdoor hot tub year-round or stay cool with central air. Minutes from golf, biking, hiking trails, and downtown Gaylord’s Alpine Village. Perfect for BBQs on the deck, stargazing by the fire pit, or spotting the Northern Lights.

Hiking, biking, wildlife viewing (elk, birds). Nearby excursions: mushroom hunting, Traverse City (45 min), Petoskey (35 min), Mackinaw City (<1 hr), Boyne Mountain (25 min). Gaylord town: shopping, restaurants, theater, Sports-plex, mini-golf, go-karts, museums.

Cabin is private; nature may wander in—please close doors & sliders.
Roads are maintained; winter guests advised to use caution and use provided rock salt/shovels while staying and we recommend 4WD/AWD vehicles in the cold/winter months. 💙 Returning Guests Save!

We were disappointed to see the 4-star review after what appeared to be an enjoyable five-night stay, particularly since the guests had asked about extending their stay. Unfortunately, we were unable to accommodate the extension because the property was already reserved for incoming guests. The hot tub concern was brought to our attention very late on the final evening of their stay. We promptly worked with the guest through the VRBO messaging platform to troubleshoot the issue and determined that the hot tub had inadvertently been placed into sleep mode while a member of the group was adjusting the controls. Once the setting was identified, it was confirmed that there was no mechanical issue with the hot tub. We take great pride in maintaining our property and its amenities and always do our best to respond promptly when a guest brings a concern to our attention. Our goal is for every guest to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

If you are looking for a very quiet, relatively remote vacation in a very clean, well-equipped log cabin- this is the place. The communication with the host was A. The inside is beautifully appointed with a wonderful deck and hot tub with a firepit close by. Close enough to Mackinac Island and Lake Michigan to the west, we balanced family time with tourism. Stock up your pantry because groceries are 20 minutes away. We did not partake of the Lake of the North pool or lakes but that would be enjoyable for families. We had a restful week w family.

Everything was excellent. The house is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds are very comfortable. The hosts are very nice, welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

This little log cabin was a piece of heaven. A perfect location with the leaves changing colors and Crispness in the air. It was exceptionally clean. Loved the rustic decor!! It was a perfect anniversary getaway. Owners were quick to respond with help and information about the area. The hot tub was a special bonus.

Up north getaway

Just a great overnight stay in the woods. We took a trip to Boyne to hike the skybridge. So cute with all of the amenities. The hot tub was awesome! Next time we are going to stay for longer than one night!

Amazing home and property

This house is everything and more!! Whether you just stay at the home or use it as a base for multiple adventures, as we did, it is everything you will need. Close to everything upper Michigan has to offer and secluded in the depths of the wilderness. If you want a quiet secluded getaway this is it!!

Summer Vaca!!!

Our group of 5 used this home as base camp for adventures in the area such as Torch Lake, Boyne Mountain, Mackinac Island, Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The house layout was perfect for our group. I only wish it was closer to Gaylord for some quicker grocery runs. The house was clean and the host was very prompt at answering our questions.

Thank you for staying, we hope to host you again! Gaylord is less than 20 min from cabin if you take Springay to Hayes Tower and not Pencil Lake to Alba, you are going out of your way which is what I believe these guests were doing as they were doing day trips in that direction (Torch Lake, Traverse Cityk Boyne) but if you go the other direction, you'll hit Gaylord QUICK!

This property was amazing!!! The house had everything we needed and with extra ammenties. Loved the back porch and yard. We would definitely stay here again. The home owners were great too!! We had a dead car battery and they helped us get the car running. Thank you!!!

Better than the pics!

Brand new cabin in the middle of the woods with only one other house visible. You're surrounding by nothing but woods at the time of this writing. The owner's posting pictures don't do the place justice. It's really nice and is furnished as if the owners actually use the place themselves. Everything you might need (olive oil, foil, soap, etc...) is all there already. Super clean and everything works! - you won't regret it!

We recently stayed at this charming log cabin in Gaylord, MI, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt enveloped in tranquility. Here’s why we loved it: Relaxing Ambiance: The cabin’s serene surroundings instantly put us at ease. Nestled amidst lush woodlands, it felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Tranquil Setting: The quietude was remarkable. We woke up to birdsong and the rustling of leaves—a perfect respite from the noise of the city. Laid-Back Vibes: The cabin’s rustic charm and cozy interiors made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you can kick back, read a book, and forget about time. Spotlessly Clean: The cleanliness was impeccable. Every corner of the cabin was well-maintained, and we appreciated the attention to detail. New and Inviting: The cabin had a fresh, new feel. It’s evident that the owners take pride in maintaining their property. And let’s talk about that hot tub! Oh, what a delight. The water was perfectly heated to 104 degrees, and we spent evenings soaking under the star-studded sky. It was pure bliss. John and Dorene were great hosts. Dorene was very quick to respond to questions I had. The cabin was beautifully decorated and clean. The hot tub was easy to use. Having access to the Lake Arrowhead pool was a great bonus. The neighborhood is very quiet. The cabin is at a great location, away from civilization but still only 20 minutes to Gaylord and Otsego Lake State Park. We would not hesitate to stay at the Log Cabin Inn again!
