Welcome to the Broad River Retreat! Located in a quiet, gated community, this home sleeps 6 with 2 King beds & 1 Queen bed. Conveniently located less than a 10 minute drive to the TIEC and 4 minutes to Cleghorn Golf & Sports Club. Nearby attractions offer something for everyone – beautiful local wineries, shopping and dining in quaint downtowns, kayaking or fishing on quiet sections of the Broad River, hiking to waterfalls or biking on the Purple Martin Trail. Fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing trip away. The living room has plenty of space to stretch out and you can enjoy the cozy gas fireplace and roomy eat-in kitchen. The outdoor spaces include an expansive deck offering breathtaking mountain views and river access within the gated community park. W/D available for guest use.

The home is in a secure community very nice clean spacious had everything we needed for a comfortable stay beautiful backyard view. We stayed here as we flew in with my adult children to do a university drop off this home allowed the drop off to be easier and more memorable thank you first time in North Carolina. It won’t be our last.

Cottage on the Broad River

This is a beautiful home on the Broad river in gated community. We have family in Rutherfordton and this house was perfectly located for us to visit with them. It had everything we needed. I will be staying here again.

My best VRBO Experience!

Joanna was an excellent host in every way. The house was lovely and just what we were looking for. Communication was above and beyond as we had to change dates but Joanna responded quickly. Highly recommend this home!

Great location, well appointed

The property was great. It had everything one could need. Owner was super responsive. The home was clean. We did find hidden dirty plates of food, but that's on the cleaner.

Would recommend

The house is beautifully decorated and has a lot of complimentary homey touches. It was very clean and inviting. Joanna, the host, was very pleasant and easy to communicate with. There are not many restaurants nearby, so we utilized the Tyron Equestrian restaurants. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Convenient to Tryon International Equestrian Center

We chose this house for the convenience to the Equestrian Center where our granddaughter was competing over the weekend. The location was great. The house itself was clean, nicely furnished and a thoughtful variety of complimentary snacks and coffee. We were busy with equestrian events our whole stay, but there are lots of other things offered in the area. The hostess was very helpful to resolve a check in issue.

This was my second year staying here, and I will be back. The hurricane, Helene, forced me to cancel week one, but the owner was very intentive, and refunded my first week. So happy to at least get one week in that sweet house. Everything was great. Thank you.

Great area. Comfy house.

Communication before, during and after our stay was great. House was comfortable. Was super close to everything we needed. During our stay the primary shower wasn't available, but we just used the other one. Internet felt slow to us, but only our teens were truly affected. 😉 Wish we had time to explore the river access. Will definitely look into this property again when we go back to TIEC.

Family Christmas in Rutherfordton

This was a beautiful home with a great view off the back porch of the Western Carolina foothills. The fold-out kitchen table was amazing for our large Christmas dinner. The kitchen appliances, serving/storage items, and utensils are great. There was an empty cabinet shelve to store some of our things. For that area, the driveway was not too steep. The front and back porches are nice. This gated community was quiet and easy to use the roads for walks. There is a park down by the river.

Tryon Horse Show

I went to the Tryon International Equestrian Center for a week, for the first time. The house was very convenient and with just two women in the house, we felt very safe. And it was very close (10 minutes) to the show grounds. The house was adorable. Clean and well appointed. There was much appreciated coffee and snacks in the kitchen, which helps a lot when you arrive late. Great towels. And televisions in each bedroom and great room. This is certainly one of the nicest VRBO homes that I have rented, and I’ve rented a lot, being on the road so much. Will definitely stay there again, should I return to the horse show next year. Thanks so much

Was a nice place just too far from the wedding venue

I was under the impression she said 20 minutes from house boehme but was actually 35-40 minutes. Which we were the parents of the bride so was also of driving back and forth. We only had one roll of paper towels when we got their and no Kleenex wish would have been more coffee pods they were all fruity raspberry and banana foster everything else was well stocked. Easy process. We didn’t get to spend much time there. But would have enjoyed the outside and deck if we could have.

Disappointing review coming from a repeat guest. I apologize I couldn't control a natural disaster that hit the area, I did my best while I was also dealing with no power, water, cell service or internet. As a repeat guest, you would have known we've never had a propane grill, nor is it advertised on our listing. I would have gladly given you access to any cleaning supplies had you asked and I will make sure the shade gets fixed.
