Family Vacation

We had a wonderful week at Sea Colony. Beautiful view of the ocean and the town of Bethany Beach. Such an excellent location as anything you needed was within a short walking distance. We walked to dinner each night and also to the boardwalk. Perfect beach and pool for our family. Staff very attentive to detail. It was an amazing week.

Convenient for families

The property was clean and easily accessible. We enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the pools, beaches, and recreation areas. One MAJOR downfall was only having one key available. It made coming and going quite difficult with 2 children, and having to constantly text one another to ensure the room was unlocked by the adult bearing the key. Other than that, it was a lovely vacation for us.

OK stay

The place is nice and the beds are super comfortable. There is no carpet anywhere in the unit and I get that it is easier to clean, but the place felt cold with tile floor everywhere. The TVs are old, so there is no option to access streaming accounts. The couch was also quite comfortable and nap-worthy. The kitchen could definitely benefit from some potholders but otherwise was in pretty good shape and everything worked well.

This place was just OK.

We stay at Sea Colony every year. We love the beach and amenities that Sea Colony has to offer. With that said- this rental was our least favorite in all of the places we have stayed. The positives were the newer kitchen counter tops and appliances. The couch is updated and comfortable. The negatives were the bathrooms were very out dated with ripped wall paper, mold around the seals, and old fixtures. The hot water only lasted one shower, so several people had to take cold showers. The walls and floor were dirty and scuffed. The kitchen had old pots and pans. The washing machine had mold around the seal and detergent dispenser. The coffee maker had lime scale throughout inside. The refrigerator and washer/ dryer canā€™t fully open as they are too close to each other. Overall, I think vacasa should look into updating the bathrooms, water heater, and painting the unit.

It was fine overall. The place was spotless. Being able to see the water is nice even if it's partially obstructed and the location is good. A few areas for improvement: -Half the lightbulbs throughout were out and the main fixture in the family room was broken (Vacasa fixed the lightbulbs) -The dryer duct must need cleaning because it took 4 cycles to clean a towel (no lint) -One dresser is missing half the knobs so using those drawers was difficult -Some walls were dirty and could use cleaning or new paint. -The bathtub stopper does not work so you should bring your own. -For some reason it quickly ran out of hot water but that might be for the whole building.

The amenities were great. The pool was close and walking distance to the beach. Having a private beach was nice as it wasn't as crowded. The dishwasher and washer and dryer worked good along with the coffee maker and microwave. The furniture is very dated and the sleeper sofa is absolutely awful and no one should or even could sleep on it. You can feel the metal bars digging into your back and it was filthy. The floor was filthy and my socks were black after walking around for just a few hours. The blankets stunk and the pillows were stained with yellow spots. The beds were comfortable but there was trash left under them. The showers were dated and there was still soap scum all over them. The master tub drains slow so you're standing in the water while you shower which is not ideal. And it makes a loud train whistle sound after being on for a few minutes which was also not ideal. When we arrived the dishwasher was packed full of dishes and some were not clean (because it was packed so full). So I was stuck cleaning someone else's dishes and putting them away. Overall I would absolutely not stay here again and would not recommend anyone do either. They need to crack down on whose doing the cleaning because honestly my 3 year old could do better.
