Modern Lakefront Treehouse with Pedal boat, 2 Kayaks, Sun Deck and Arcade

Welcome to the Owls Nuest (pronounced “Nest” like “guest”). This is a fully renovated, private, lakefront home sitting high in the trees with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and comfortable sleeping for 5 guests. We named it the Owls Nuest as it feels you are cozy in a nest overlooking Lake Houston. Also owls symbolize good luck, helpfulness, wisdom and these are all things for which we strive.

This 670 sqft home sits on 15 ft stilts creating a large outdoor living space underneath with ample lighting for your outdoor enjoyment. The fenced in, oversized, shaded lot boasts large mature trees, a serenity bench and a lit up boat dock.

This home was completely renovated floor to ceiling in 2022. At that time, 3 brand new remote controlled, mini-split AC/heat systems were added making each room your perfect temperature. Each bedroom and the living room have their own remote controlled temperature control. Ceiling fans are found throughout the home.

The house sits approximately 15ft from the waters edge and the height above ground fully surrounded with windows makes it feel like you are in a treehouse hovering over Lake Houston. Upgraded indoor shutters allow you to block out the light when you want to sleep in or watch TV. The full glass front door and multitude of windows allow for breathtaking lake views from every room.

There is wifi throughout the home making it easy for those who work remote. In a no wake zone, with access to the main body of the lake makes Owls Nuest the perfect peaceful getaway for families, fishermen, friends and couples.

When you pull into the drive you will see the back side of the home 15 feet in the air. It is fully fenced in case you want to bring your pet to run outside. We have installed a pet station near the bottom of steps so cleaning up after Fido is a breeze.

Under the home is a nice large covered patio and outdoor dining table where guests spend most of their time enjoying the lake front view watching boats go by and pelicans diving for fish. We have a charcoal and gas grill you are welcome to use. We provide a fire pit for those nights you just want to sit outside by the lake with a fire.

Downstairs there is a full size washer and dryer should you need this during your stay. You will find an outdoor shower on backside of the laundry for those days you just got too dirty to come inside, or those evenings your feeling romantic.

When you walk up the stairs you will find a spacious patio perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine watching the moon set over the water at night.

Walk through the front door into a cozy living room with a table top arcade boasting over 400 of the games we grew up playing (my favorite is still Pac man). Play all night if you want - no quarters required :-)

Living area has a comfy sofa and ceiling fan as well as remote control AC unit and smart TV with Netflix. A doggie bed, outdoor dog waterer and dog toys are available in the corner of living room for your dog. Please do not allow them on the furniture.

On the left is the modern kitchen with everything you need to cook nice meals at home. The kitchen island has seating for 2 and the dining nook/ sunroom is nestled in the trees overlooking the lake and seats 4 more. We also provide basic pantry items and many spices in the event you need something but don’t want to head to the store. There is even a liquor cabinet stocked with glasses - BYOL :-)

The bathroom has a beautifully tiled shower with full length glass doors (no tub). We have added a shelf to set your toiletry bags and a bookshelf holding soft fluffy towels. Indoor shutters cover the window for privacy or open for views of the lake an new marina nearby!

You will have access to the entire home, dock and fenced in lot adjacent to the Lake. Guests with boats are asked to drop your boat in just around the corner at the new Waterside Marina (see it from kitchen and bath windows) and tie your boat to our dock. Smaller ski boats and Bass boats are welcome to use the boat lift.

Above the boat lift is a newly built 550 sq ft sundeck (complete 3/13/2023) with two large lounge chairs to relax and soak up the sun. Tree covered outdoor patio furniture or use of the 10 ft tilt umbrella is the place to be when ready to escape the sun. From the upper deck you will enjoy waving to boaters and watching pelicans dive for fish. Extra wide upper rail provides a place to set your coffee or cocktail.

Between the Islands off to the right is a perfect place to pedal boat or kayak. The water is shallow so the motor boats do not go there. This area close to the wildlife preserve so it provides for great fishing and birdwatching.

Lifejackets (6) are provided and highly recommended while on pedal boat, kayaks or swimming. They are stored inside the dock closet. A throwable life preserver is located on front of dock. Extra bungee cords, tacklebox, outdoor games and are also in the closet if you want to use them. Bring your poles for excellent fishing right off the dock!

You will have access to our motorized kayak deck. The Automatic lift/ lower switch is on right side of kayaks. This allows you to lower the pedal boat or kayak partially into the water so you can easily back them into the water. Simply row or pedal back up onto platform and raise the deck when your journey is over. Please keep bungee cords secure on any items you’re not using to keep them from floating away. Please raise the platform to chest height before leaving.

IMPORTANT WARNING:
Use of the lake is always at your own risk. Please be extremely vigilant if you are bringing kids, pets or people who cannot swim well. Lake side of property is not fenced. Ladders located at bulkhead and on dock can be used if someone does want to go swimming. Please do not dive into lake to avoid injury - ok to swim at your own risk.
