We’re happy to hear Lauren enjoyed her stay at our beautiful low bank beachfront property. We pride ourselves and invest with such intentionality in doing our very best to ensure every guest has an amazing experience at DMD—whether that means decorating especially for the group like we did for Lauren’s or checking in advance of our guests stay to explain the parking (which yes, as described, does include additional available parking in the surrounding neighborhood streets), sharing about the property and seeing if there is anything Lauren or any of our guests need. With that in mind, we are quite surprised to hear Lauren’s group experienced trouble with the stairs and/or parking or were unaware of the nature of either because of the information we take care to provide and as she did not mention it during any of her communications with us or our team that is committed to being available 24/7. Further, in the last year—of 100s of visits, we have never heard before or after from friends, family, or guests (we’re honored to have received 100% 5 star reviews across the board prior) of anyone experiencing even a misstep on the stairs or any misconception about what they would experience when arriving. That said, if Lauren had mentioned any trouble, we would have done all possible to resolve the issue for her with our highest standard of care. We’ve been told that the stairs built into the forested area backing the home and limited parking are a part of our unique beachfront property’s charm and we believe those elements are part of what makes the setting feel exclusive, private and remote despite it being situated within minutes of the city. Because we truly care about our guests experience and want them to be equipped with all the information needed to make their decision, we do our best to provide any and all critical details. That information includes several photos of the stairs with descriptions of what to expect, mentioning that the lot at the top of the stairs/hill can accommodate a max. of 2 guest cars in our description and asking that all guests, including Lauren’s group, confirm prior to booking (the day of booking/far in advance of our cancellation policy) that they have read our rules which explain the nature of the path/stairs in detail as well as the parking. We will continue doing everything we can to ensure our guests have all information possible throughout the process of booking through their stay. We’re so appreciative of every guest we’ve had the honor of hosting for something as special as a getaway! And we look forward to serving more guests at The Des Moines Diamond, in the future!
