Stunning Beach Cottage on Private Road! Shinnecock Hills, Southampton, NY

Sweeping views and wide front beach on scenic Peconic Bay from traditional beach cottage on secluded, child-friendly private way. Watch the sunrise, sunset, swim, sail, bike, boat, read, relax and play all day. Ideal location for swimming, sandcastles, sunbathing, shelling, birding, biking, fishing, kayaking, sailing, tennis, walking, jogging, relaxation and recreation.

Ideally suited for responsible family or couple. This is a quiet community; no group rentals, loud music or late parties. Swim, kayak, paddleboard, walk and sun out front. Within walking or biking distance to tennis, biking distance to town, shops and restaurants; short 15 minute drive to ocean beaches with great bodysurfing, 5 minute drive to golf courses.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms, one with queen bed and one with twin beds and both with AC and space for an onsite portable baby crib. There is an upstairs sleeping loft with six beds for children, relatives or guests, and a desk workstation area with an open balcony with bay views, a large monitor, and wireless HP printer/scanner. Expanded kitchen with new refrigerator and stove, lovely living room, dining room table that seats ten, all with amazing views. Wraparound deck with 2 wood tables, umbrella, benches, chairs, and propane Weber BBQ grill. All new beds 2014, new washer and dryer 2015, new bedroom AC units 2016, new refrigerator and electric range 2021, and new rugs 2023.

All seasons are beautiful on Peconic Bay; spring's fresh flowers and birds, summer's glorious warm sun and water, falls' harvest and turning leaves. There is an outdoor shower and changing room and bedroom AC units for summer, and propane gas heater and space heaters for off season.

Rental includes access to bicycles, sea kayak, paddle board, tennis rackets, life jackets, fishing rods, beach toys, cards, games, jigsaw puzzles, and books for all ages. Use of tennis courts can be arranged for an additional $200 association fee.

Our family has spent many wonderful times together experiencing all that a lovely beach house has to offer for over 50 years. We trust youā€™ll enjoy similar experiences that will create lasting memories.

Great location

The location couldn't be better - my family loved sitting on the deck and having immediate access to the beach. The house is off of a nice, quiet street that was great for strolls as well. The inside of the house is cluttered, outdated and could use a deep cleaning. The sheets smelled so musty I couldn't sleep and my nose was totally stuffed up in the morning. I spent half of the next day washing all of the bedding and redoing the bed. After that, I didn't have a problem. The owners were and nice and communicative.

Perfect family beach house.

Perfect location right on the beach in a comfortable family house. The house feels like a comfortable, clean family home with a big open space to accommodate family dinners and lounging but the true beauty of this place is the proximity to the beach. It was so easy to go back and forth from the beach to the house without having to worry about packing lunch or driving and parking. The bay beach is great for swimming and water sports. Mostly we appreciated relaxing on the beach or on the generous deck at the house. There is plenty to do in the vicinity but we found no need to leave the house at all except for grocery shopping. Laura, the host, was communicative and very helpful. I hope to visit again soon! If you stay here you will not be disappointed!

Much needed R and R!

We were lucky with great weather - not too hot, not too cool, a fair amount of wind, and lots of nice beach days. Many delicious meals fixed on the grill and enjoyed with stunning sunsets. Already looking forward to next summer.

Our Paradise....

The high point of the year for our family for the last seven has been staying at this beautiful beach house stunningly set on the Peconic in a secluded private neighborhood replete with tennis and basketball court, speed bumps and private lanes making it the perfect place for little kids to learn to bicycle and a pristine, gorgeous private beach for a back yard, literally, with a sun-bleached wooden walkway from awesome wraparound deck through dune-grass grass directly to the beach. Owners generously make kayak, paddleboard, bikes available, you are surrounded by protected wetlands and forested area, private lanes w/ docks/boats, amazing wildlife, the superlatives honestly don't do it justice. Truly a hidden gem.

Heaven on earth!

Hands-down the most amazing place I've ever stayed at. This isn't some house you can see the water from you're actually on water!!! There is no walk to the beach your on it. Very quiet beach this is not a busy resort either. The house is beautiful and extremely clean. Fancy washer and dryer as well. Bathrooms are spotless and all the bedding looks new. To me and my wife a clean House is extremely important and this was above our expectations. To me it was heaven on earth laying down at night and hearing the gentle sound of the waves rolling in to the shore. We were very lucky with the weather and every night got to witness an amazing sunset! I would highly recommend this to families as well as people looking for a romantic getaway.

Summer fun!

Great family getaway!! We loved walking on the beach, swimming, playing tennis, and watching sunsets from the deck. The beautiful view around the bay is great, and there are fun places to explore on the eastern end of Long Island. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen, and also lots of dining options in the area. Fun beach cottage with a wide open view!
