Get away to this peaceful cabin style home with Native American decor situated on 88 partially wooded and actively farmed acres! NO hunting permitted!! If youā€™re looking for a short term rental, the fee is $3,000 per month. Contact by email message before booking so we can adjust your nightly rate to reflect the proper monthly fee!
Walk the path to lovely Takoda Falls. Approximately 1 mile round trip. Please be aware that weather conditions such as recent rainfall or lack of will determine falls activity, but worth the walk to this tranquil part of the property regardless of falls activity.
This newly remodeled home sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, fully appointed kitchen- Amenities in kitchen include an air fryer, blender, double toaster, Keurig coffee maker with assorted pods and bottled water for brewing provided ( the tap water is delicious natural spring water but is hard on the coffee maker), knife set, crock pot, Kitchen-aid mixer, electric wine opener, can opener, pots and pans, cutting board, cookie sheet, popcorn popper and popcorn provided. Paper plates,cups and disposable silverware for outdoor dining.
Basic kitchen needs such as sugar, flour, oil, salt, pepper and other spices, plus condiments, butter, creamer and eggs are available.
2 smart tv's, free wi-fi, lower walk-out level is stocked with puzzles and games, adult coloring books with colored pencils, pull-out queen-size sleeper sofa and washer/dryer with detergent and natural wool balls for the dryer.
Relax in the salt water hot tub on the oversized patio-plastic and insulated drink ware provided.
Enjoy drinks at the bar overlooking Four Mile Creek valley on the 2-sided deck complete with 4 double gliders for comfortable socializing and a propane fire table. You will see plenty of birds (maybe even a bald eagle!) along with other wildlife.
The home has gorgeous, unique custom red cedar and natural wood furnishings throughout, which sets a cozy, relaxing tone.
Just a 12-minute drive to Miami University stadium. Houston Woods is just 10 minutes away with hiking trails, mountain bike paths, nature center and beach. The seven covered bridges driving tour is also a popular local attraction as well as the Schoolhouse Winery.
In order to protect the beauty of the property as well as the safety of the wildlife, smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on the property.

Miami Graduation Weekend

We were able to find the house easily, it had all the amenities we needed, super clean. It was a 20 minute drive from Oxford but it was nice to be away from the business of the college town! We would definitely stay again!

Secluded retreat - less than 20 minutes to activities

Lovely house complete with nice furnishings, comforts of home, and hiking trail on the property. Hueston Woods State Park, Miami University and Richmond, IN are all a short drive away. Owner was so easy to communicate with! Would stay here againā€¦but books up super fast!

Perfect for a quiet weekend away.

We stayed here for a quiet weekend away from parenting and work. It was a perfect place to relax and recharge. Patty is very thoughtful in providing not only the basics but any extras other owners would not. It made the experience that much better. We would definitely consider coming back!

Great place for a getaway

Quite, relaxing, very clean and everything we needed plus more. We were there for a hockey tournament and didnā€™t want to stay at a hotel. They had plenty of games, puzzles and activities for all ages or you could just relax in the hot tub. I do plan on staying here again.

A Wonderful Experience and Great Host

My daughter stayed with her teenage children and friends when they were swimming at a meet at Miami University. They wanted somewhere to stay especially during down time between sessions each day. Patty was absolutely a wonderful host and the house was fantastic. They had great time!! I would 100% recommend renting this VRBO and hope to do so when the 15 year old swims there next year!

Exceeded expectations

We had a great stay! They offered some nice little perks like spa robes for heading out to the hot tub and a lovely variety of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa for the keurig and all the fixins for sā€™mores. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the woods and the easy hike to the waterfall. The place was VERY well-kept and tidy, and the furnishings were comfy and cozy. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The house was perfect. The property was amazing. The hot tub was one of the nicest hot tubs we ever sat in. It was so peaceful and quiet that it made star gazing and listening to the owls very enjoyable for us. We will be back soon

The property is great. Extremely clean and well located for proximity to Miami of Ohio. Patricia and Larry were excellent to deal with. The property lost power due to a storm while we were there, and Patricia and Larry really bent over backwards for us. Thank you both!

Relaxing and peaceful retreat

I recently stayed at Takoda Falls retreat with my two teenage kids as we were touring Miami U. The home was warm and welcoming and exceptionally clean. The owners paid attention to every detail and left some comforts of home to enjoy (s'more fixings and popcorn). We relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the scenery. It was a very quick and easy drive to Miami's campus as well. We will definitely be back.

Amazing place for a getaway

My wife and I were looking for a cabin style getaway with a hot tub. Patty and Larry's place was perfect for what we were looking for and felt like a home away from home. The home was extremely nice, clean, fully stocked with everything you need, and had a great cabin theme. Its very private and peaceful on the property. We took a morning walk to the nearby Takoda Falls which the property is named after which was relaxing and scenic. Overall we were extremely pleased with everything about our stay and will be recommending our friends and family to stay here! Brian and Brittany

Lovely, Relaxing Weekend!

Three ladies in our forties stayed here for a weekend of hot tubbing, crocheting, knitting, and relaxing. Patty has thought of everything! Every possible need has been anticipated. The rooms were immaculate, the space was open and well-lit, and the handmade table in the dining area is absolutely stunning. My favorite little touch was the dinosaur hiding in the rock garden! Such a quiet weekend surrounded by nature. Thanks for a great stay- we would love to stay here again!

We have stayed at numerous VRBO properties and this one was at the top of the list in every category. The attention to detail... the personal touches... comfortable furniture...etc. We took the short hike to the falls... which was delightful. We traveled to the area for a graduation and now have no reason to be back in the area. We've already decided we will need to find a reason just to stay here again. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would do it in a heartbeat.

AWESOME!!!

This place is the best place Iā€™ve stayed. It is so clean and nice. Patti provides so much with a lot of extra touches such as plenty of condiments, spices, eggs, butter, creamer, etc. lots of nice outdoor seating areas and hot tub. We loved sitting outside watching the birds at the feeders with provided binoculars. Itā€™s a birders dream location! Patti is very responsive when you ask questions and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home!!! She even put chairs on the hill for us to watch the eclipse! I definitely recommend this place. You wonā€™t be disappointed!
