Cottage Near 2 Golf Courses, MSU, CAFB

FAMILY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE. This property is located next door to a Christian couple who are the owners of the cottage. It has a big front porch with rocking chairs and a swing. Sit by the pond and fish or just relax. The partially wooded area is a good place for bird watching.

Inside enjoy the open living/kitchen/dining area with one bedroom and bath/laundry downstairs. Upstairs is a loft bedroom with four twin beds. There is a baby gate available for both the top and bottom of the stairs.

On the grounds there is a paddle boat and a canoe for your enjoyment. There is also a bonfire site in front of the cottage near the pond.

Visitors with allergies to cigarette smoke or pet dander will appreciate that we do not allow smoking (not even e-cigarettes) or pets at this property.

Drive one mile to Old Waverly Golf Course, 8 miles to historic Waverly Mansion, 15 miles to Columbus Air Force Base/Columbus, 17 miles to Mississippi University for Women, and 22 miles to the Mississippi State University Campus. The Tenn-Tom Waterway is only 10 minutes away with great fishing as well as waterskiing. Enjoy the convenience of good restaurants in West Point such as Anthony's, Stafford's Big Burger, No Way Jose, and Yamato Steak House of Japan all within 4 miles. The local Wal-Mart is only 3 miles from this cabin.

This is a perfect setting for a family vacation, husband and wife getaway, or convenient place to stay for the Columbus Pilgrimage, CAFB events, MSU ballgames, Old Waverly golf tournaments, and many other events in the area. It is a serene, wholesome environment and provides seclusion with the advantage of having the owners close by.

This is a family atmosphere, and absolute respect for our home and neighbors is required. Absolutely no group partying allowed. You will be evicted during your stay with no refund if these rules are not followed or if you have misrepresented yourself upon booking.

This rental is precious! So quiet and relaxing. We were so sad to go. A full kitchen that had everything you need to cook on site. Clean as a pin and charming. Great tv channel selection. Kids 4 and 6 had a blast. They got to play in a giant sandbox area, swing, fish, make smores in the fire pit and just run without worry. We saw the hosts at check in and they were the sweetest couple. Highly recommend and definitely will stay again.

Great Quiet Family Place to stay

The owners are so nice. This property is very clean and as advertised. We came in to town to spend Thanksgiving with our student at MS State and attend the Egg Bowl. Its only a 30 minute drive from Davis Wade. We would certainly stay here again. Thank you to the owners for sharing their property with us.

Great communication from hosts. Very nice and attentive to making things available for us to use at the lake and setting up bonfire. Place was very clean and had great kitchen stocked with many dishes, etc. washer dryer availability was nice as was ice maker in fridge. Loved the screened porch with swing.

The complete package!

This cottage has everything you could ask for and more, beginning with that friendly but non intrusive hosts, to the very comfortable and well-stocked house With a fabulous screened in porch overlooking a wonderful, ever-changing pond, a fire pit and good walking areas, one never leave to be entertained. However, though private, it is only a few minutes from shopping and restaurants. It is well maintained and I recommend it without reservation, so make one!

AMAZING!

This was more that we could have hoped for. The cabin was perfect for our son and his 2 young children 6 and 4. Access to the pond and the fun toys was a huge hit. The cabin itself felt like HOME as soon as we walked in and was incredibly comfortable. One bath did not create any issues for us. We loved our visit with the owners and they went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and enjoyable. They succeded - we will definitely look to stay here again.

Perfect Weekend

We stayed on this property for Homecoming weekend/PGM Family weekend and couldnā€™t have been more pleased. The home had everything we needed, the surroundings were beautiful and the homeowners were very kind and welcoming. We wish we had more time to stay there to explore and just sit out and relax by the pond. The commute to the school was very easy and worked perfectly with our schedule. The home was super clean and spacious, had everything you could ask for (we even did our sons laundry). I highly recommended this place for a family gathering or a weekend get away for golf or any MSU sporting event or activity. Thank you both for the amazing accommodations.

Just like coming home

Our monthā€“long stay at the cottage with our daughters could not have been any better! Just walking in the front door on the first day, felt like coming home. The location was perfect for us! So close to shopping in both West Point and Columbus, but far enough away to make it feel like you were away from the bustle of town. Thad and Judy are gracious and attentive hosts. Communicating with them before and during our stay was simple. They immediately responded to any questions we had. It was a pleasure to get to know them during our time there. The cottage was the perfect size for the five of us. The screened-in porch overlooking the beautiful pond and manicured outdoor space was our favorite spot. The kids enjoyed using all of the amenities on the water and in the yard. We look forward to many more stays at this property.

Wonderful cabin experience

We stayed for a weekend so we could go to a Mississippi state football game. The cabin was amazing! Everything about our stay was perfect. We will definitely stay there next time!

Great Stay - wish we could have stayed longer!

It was a great place for us during a gameday weekend visiting family. The rain hindered our use of the pond, but it was still great to sit on the porch and relax. Quite a few deer around one evening. A good layout for a family, but will need to be good at sharing a bathroom!

Great Mississippi getaway

This is a wonderful cabin in a peaceful setting that exceeded our expectations. The location is convenient to Old Waverly, MSU/Starkville, Columbus. We were there for a football weekend, so we were unfortunately ā€œon the goā€ our entire stay. Perfection in the woods

This cabin was just what the doctor ordered for us. We visited over Thanksgiving week to be neat Starkville for the Egg Bowl. It was about 25 minutes away. The owners are very nice and were available next door if needed. Our group ranged from 13 to 80 and all loved the place and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The home is cute and cozy. The view of the pond in the back is very pretty. The screened porch is heavenly. There was plenty of space inside to cook and enjoy a family meal. We had all of the dishes and pots and pans we needed. They even provided a couple of Keurig coffee pods to start us off. There were 5 in our group and one visiting and we all were comfortable. There is plenty to do outside at the cabin & we brought board games to play indoors. This would be the perfect place to bring a good book and sit on the porch swing or in an Adirondack by the water to read. We look forward to staying again if we get the chance!
