Welcome to our Smoke Free Family Home B&B located just 3 blocks from the Historic French Quarter. We appreciate your considering our place to enjoy the city.

We are excited to say that the streetcar line is now operational and just a block away from the property. So transportation around the city will be easier. Check out norta.com for details on passes to ride the streetcar and/or bus.

*Because we both have other jobs, we ask that renters be conscientious of our checking in/out times when booking flights or driving in. Located just three short blocks from the French Quarter on Pauger Street, this Creole cottage, built in 1829 has a total of four SPACIOUS rooms (approximately 800 s/f). A feature of Creole cottages is that there are NO HALLWAYS, and all rooms are connected (we provide a floor plan once you book). Street parking is available but we cannot always guarantee it.

The first room (aka 1st bedroom) features a queen-size sofa sleeper (with freshly ironed linens) which provides extra sleeping space (when needed). The original 195 year old long leaf pine floors have been refinished to add to the beauty of the place. There are 2 reading/conversation areas, and a plush rug. AC/Heating unit will keep the room cozy all year round.

The second room is the large bedroom with a TALL king-size bed (ironed sheets and pillow cases), armoire, bedside tables, cable TV, bedside rugs and the same beautiful flooring.

The third room has a round dining table/chairs, and a desk. A special costume is located in this room to give you a taste of Mardi Gras. THE STAIRS, although inviting, LEAD UP TO STORAGE AND IS FOR THE OWNERS ONLY.

NOTE: NO GUESTS ARE ALLOWED TO STAY OVERNIGHT WITHOUT PAYMENT.

The kitchen is a bright green color to "wake you up" in the morning. Small appliances (toaster/oven, microwave and coffeemaker) are furnished along with coffee and tea. A gas range has been installed. The full-size stainless steel refrigerator has an icemaker. The 1950's kitchen sink has built-in drain boards and has been stripped down to the original finish. Also, there is a washer/dryer combo with detergent and dryer sheets for your convenience, along with an iron and ironing board.

The bathroom features tile floor, bamboo wainscoting, and a tiled shower. Toiletries and towels, makeup pads and small sewing kits, along with bathrobes, will be provided. A hair dryer is part of those amenities.

Outside the kitchen is a private courtyard with tropical plants, table and chairs, and a large private CLOTHING OPTIONAL hot tub. THE TUB IS FOR PAYING GUESTS ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Being part of our home, this SMOKE FREE/CANDLE FREE rental unit is ADULT ONLY (Gay Owned, Straight Friendly). ALL PERSONS MUST BE 21 YEARS OR OLDER. SORRY, WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE CHILDREN.

Ron was great. We loved the story of his home. The home itself was incredibly comfortable. It is a close walk down to the French Quarter, but far enough to be quiet at night if youā€™re not into the loud nightlife.

We are repeat customers. The location is the place to be. The rental unit is roomy, comfortable, and overall outstanding. Most important was the hospitality of the owners, Ron and Mark, two outstanding folks. The weather was super cold. Ron asked if we needed to borrow a coat and hat. That is the type of hospitality which says that we were treated like family. Thanks for your generous hospitality.

The property is excellent. It is thoughtfully laid out, with solid beautiful furnishings and amenities. The hot tub was fantastic. Even jets for feet! Ron is so welcoming and helpful. The location is within walking distance to so much and we always found parking with a block. Also it is quiet and restful - great bed and quiet neighborhood. There is an armoire for hanging clothes and a dresser. Great seating and many areas to store your bags etc as well as a nice eating area. Full size fridge, toaster oven, coffee and tea making abilities, full gas stove and good pots and pans and knives if youā€™d like to cook. Would be lucky to stay here againā€™

The hosts are thoughtful, communicative and thorough - youā€™re in great hands there and the place is very thoughtfully appointedThe place is exactly what you would want and need for a solo trip, a vacation with your loved one or for a small family or couple of friends. Great location, with so so much nearby. It was close enough to everything that if we were out walking around in the French Quarter, we could drop back for a minute to grab something and then head right back out without missing a beat.Youā€™ll be pleased!

Amazing house and the the hosts care about their house more than anyone in historyJust be aware that during check-in, there will be a talk with the host where he will go over the history of the house, the neighborhood and his life story in addition to the rules of the house. Overall itā€™s very informative and interestingHowever, this talk can take 75-90 mins so if you are hungry or need to be somewhere, make sure you mention that first before the chat. Also there arenā€™t any condiments so if you have leftovers or something make sure to ask for condiments from the restaurant Amazing place and weā€™ll be back!

This was an amazing place to stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The patio and hottub were a plus. Great location too! There is a super nice grocery store neaby and the French quarter was a short walk away. Easy access to the street cars as well. Ron was an amazing host. Great commication and a wealth of local knowledge! 10 out of 10 would stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay here the place was cozy, clean and comfortable. We were able to walk to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go from here and our host made our trip so much easier by giving us recommendations on places to go and also places to avoid. The house was great and had a lot of character and charm. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts Ron and Mark were very friendly and upon checking Mark spent an hour and a half with us giving us recommendations. The location was extremely convenient to the French Quarter and Frenchman Street. They had amazing A/C, important for us Californians not used to the humidity! We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was phenomenal. Ron was a great host. He met us at the property, gave us a history of the home and the location as well as some great insights to the area. We could not have asked for a better host. The home itself was perfect for what we were looking for. We loved the hot tub and the ambience of the home was fun, rich in history and art and a wonderful time.

My brother and I loved our stay here! This place is a rare gem of unique New Orleans flare and local color. (Completely *opposite* of many bland, neutral corporate cookie-cutter rentals available now.) Fun colors and impressive Mardi Gras regalia decorate the dining room and kitchen areas. Huge bed in center room is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Pull-out sofa bed in living room is also very comfortable. The iconic shotgun layout suited us just fine. There are big sliding pocket doors between the two sleeping areas. There is a full kitchen, a cute bathroom with walk-in shower, a lovely round dining table that seats 4, even a stackable washer & dryer. The outdoor space in back off the kitchen is a burst of tropical colors and plants-- with seating and a very nice hot tub. Furnishings in the home include carefully curated antiques, fine bed linens, modern lamps, and tasteful art. Location was perfect. We found free street parking right in front of the house. The owners live right next door, and Ron was a delight to work with. Highly recommend, and we hope to be back!
