Five stars are not enough to describe our stay at Ludington. A spectacular venue for our annual college roommate reunion with 7 couples, all in our seventies. Kitchen terrific for cooking, dining room elegant for eating bedrooms gorgeous, and the porch and terrace perfect for cocktails and conversation. Plus the touch of Holly's flowers throughout the house, beautifully arranged. We also loved the location: farmers market, Florence Griswald, kayaking. Everybody loved being there; it was hard to leave.

The home was beautiful. Berry greeted us when we arrived. He gave us tour of the magnificent home and made us feel very welcome. He had coffee, cream, access to cooking supplies. It was a wonderful weekend.

Everything was as listing said! Beautiful, clean, roomy, great location and huge yard!

So much room to spread out and enjoy all 19 family members as well! Perfect location for short travels for touristy stuff! Holly was a great host and the kids loved collecting the eggs from the chickens!highly recommend this place to any large group.

Absolutely perfect!

I rented Ludington House for a group birthday party and it was perfect! The house is a wonderful and unique property. Holly and Brice we wonderful to deal with. I highly recommend this property!

Great house

Our family filled the house! We loved the patio and covered porches in wonderful weather. Holly filled the house with special touches such as fresh flowers and the dining room table set formally for 15!

50th Anniversary Family Vacation

The Ludington House was amazing and the Hosts were great We had 13 guests and everyone had plenty of private space … many bedrooms and bathrooms, and yet there was plenty room to spend time together. We enjoyed telling ghost stories around the fire pit, while roasting S’mores, playing baseball in the beautiful yard, relaxing in the hammock and swinging on the swing. Also, we were close to many small communities and enjoyed touring the area. Everyone had a wonderful time. Thank You!

Exquisite historic house in beautiful town

My family (twelve people ranging in ages from 22 to 86) rented this gorgeous house for a Thanksgiving gathering. We had lots of room to spread out! The house is beautifully decorated and everything is comfortable and very clean. Our host, Berry, greeted us and showed us around and explained everything, and he was very responsive to questions while we stayed there. We had a perfect gathering. We highly recommend this stunning place for weddings and other special gatherings as well as for just bringing family and/or friends together in a peaceful and gorgeous setting. Totally wonderful!

Amazing place -- we felt like royalty!

Great property with great owners. The house was so big we all could fit and be together for a long weekend as well as find our own spaces within the house when we needed alone time from our siblings and cousins. Great location in a beautiful and historic New England town. Could walk to a local museum and other sights including CT river and other surrounding wetlands. The hosts were always responsive with our needs and made us feel right at home, preparing the house for our arrival (including setting the table for all 17 of us!) . Great touch and very helpful in navigating the huge house and all of its characteristics. We hope to return when we're ready to be back together again.

Incredible - worth every penny!

Wow, I don't know where to start! This house is beautiful. It very comfortably slept 14 women (the only beds shared were 3 king beds, otherwise everyone got their own) and we had plenty of space to spread out. Holly and Barry take such wonderful care of their home and you truly feel it when you stay here. When we arrived, Holly had set the dining room with 14 place settings and there were fresh flowers all throughout the house. We were celebrating that weekend, and Holly even left us a bottle of champagne! Barry gave us a lovely tour of the whole place, explaining the history of the home and the cool architecture. They also left us fresh eggs from their chickens, multiple fresh milk variations, and coffee in multiple rooms of the house. The kitchen is also well stocked with spices, oil, etc., which was perfect as we had a professional chef come in and cook us a meal and she was able to use all the serving dishes, utensils, etc. in the house. The location of the property is great. We went for a really pretty 10-mile run straight from the house and all through the neighborhood. Devil's Hopyard is a 20 minute drive with great hiking and trail running. Old Saybrook, Chester, and Mystic were all very easy drives from the house and I highly recommend them (VERY cute towns). We all took videos of the place to show our moms - that's how great it was. :) We hope to return! Thank you, Holly and Barry!

Mom’s Celebration

We were looking for a place for 18 people in our family to be able to stay. This was the absolute perfect location! There were so many of us in the house, but everyone had their own space and own the area. Some of us arrived much earlier than the check-in time and the owners and caretaker were absolutely amazing and accommodating. The house is spectacular and everyone is so kind. It made our weekend celebration of my mom’s life absolutely perfect!
