Nice place to stay. Quiet area, about 30 minutes from Fayetteville. Everything was as it should be. Would stay here again.

The host got right back to us whenever we had a question. Great place to get away and relax. Pretty view of the river and enjoyed sitting out on the back patio.

The house was sparkling clean. The wifi was consistent. Loved the hammock by the river. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The house had ample room and excellent heat and AC. Overall, one of best houses/cabins we have rented. People in the area are friendly and helpful. Warning: GPS has issues in this area. Follow the host's directions after you get to Belva, or you may go in circles on some sketchy roads as we did. Lively's Cafe has clean, well kept booths and good food. I had a hot Italian sub that was amazing! If you are in area to ride the Rail Explorer cycling rail cars in Clay, WV, stop at Carol's Cafe for more good food, wonderful service, reasonable prices and friendly people.

It was a fast passed visit for my husband who is a 80 year old hansdicaped vet. Our son and niece accompanied us to help with our trip. We found it to be very clean and spacious. Well supplied with linens and supplies. Beautiful view of the river and quiet neighborhood. Communication with Mike was very good. Clear and quick responses. Wished it would have had a ramp to access the house and accommodate my husband as he is wheelchair bound. Our son managed to get him up and down steps but only because he is strong. I was unable to find any rbbs handicap accessable around the Gauley area. This rental worked fine because of my helpers.I would recommend another outside trash can because of sharing with nextdoor rental. A ramp would be a beneficial addition too.

We made the trip to West Virginia for Fourth of July this year. For a family of four, this was a nice house, right on the New River! It was nicely stocked with all of your essentials and very clean. We were able to fish and kayak from the comforts of the backyard. Mike, the host, was great at communicating. The street was quiet overall and had some nice firework displays. For a good breakfast or lunch, make the short trip to Lively’s Market. A couple of very nice ladies, that makes everything to order. The only downfall is yes you are up in the mountains, and we did have the internet go out due to a storm, so have a backup in case this happens! We do highly recommend this house to any looking to unwind in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia!

Great Place

Lovely little home! Beds were comfortable and plenty of hot water. (Perfect after miles of hiking in the snow). Back yard is very nice with a great view of the river.

A friend and I always go on a trip for our birthdays. They are 1 day apart. We pick West Virginia this year and stayed at the Riverfront Cottage on Crystal Clear Gauley River.It was reasonably priced with everything that you need for a perfect getaway. Very Clean and I highly recommend.

Quiet retreat in a cute neighborhood on the river. Perfect jumpoff for all new river gorge activities Mike is a top notch host.

Stayed on business

Was a nice clean place to sleep while in the area for work. My employees enjoyed fishing in the off time. Power was out when we got there due to storms but was resolved quickly with communication even at 9pm. Would go again.

Out of the Way Hidden Gem

My family and I booked this stay to get together and it looked like a great spot for kids. We were not disappointed!!! We couldn’t keep the kids out of the water. The paddle words and fishing were so fun. The house was clean and spacious!

Great area to stay!

Loved this property. It's quaint, right on the water, and I fell in love with the town. Neighbors are so friendly and you really experience a taste of rural WV. Would be beautiful in any season. The place is kept clean and tidy, and the owner is super responsive. We booked multiple trips in a row because we liked the place so much! The internet is amazing--runs full speed, which was an issue at other places we stayed at. We hope to book again in the future, and recommend it to our families and friends if they need to stay in the area.

Comfy space for exploring New River Gorge

Spent a lovely 5 days exploring Lake Summersville, the Gauley, and the New. House had the basics for kitchen, bathroom and super soft sheets! Direct and easy access to the Gauley at a great spot for swimming and kayak/paddleboard. Neighborhood is a dead end so not a lot of traffic, while traffic noise from across the river was only occasional and not disruptive. Mike was a responsive host for questions and suggestions. Recommend!

When I got there, there was a sign in the front window that said Ario. The decal said You don't see us, but we can see you. I sent a message to the name and number on the refrigerator letting them know that we weren't staying there.I would like a refund for the reservation.

Overall it is nice place with great access to the river. The space inside is nice and the outdoor space is good for grilling. The neighborhood is quiet. The house had everything you needed for a kitchen, grill, bathroom and bedding. The WiFi works well which is needed because there is not cell service. We did have an issue because we arrived and the kayaks were locked. In the listing, kayaks/canoe was listed as an amenity, but after arriving the owner/property manager said the kayaks were for rent 25 each. That was not listed on VRBO or on the welcome email. Additionally there were ants in the kitchen. Otherwise I would recommend the house for the location and price.

As the prospective renter can see, kayaks are available for rent. This guest complained and was offered a discount for renting them, which he refused. We will promptly correct any ant related concerns.
