Our shouse is located just outside of Emmetsburg. It is a central hub for a number of activities. Acres of public hunting surround our property and provide will hours of enjoyment watching the animals in the adjoining 1,000 (+) acres public land. Our herd of miniature Highland cows will also provide entertainment while you relax under the covered porch or in the hot tub.

Such a comfortable stay that we didn't want to leave!Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of counterspace, adorable cows, and a hot tub to boot!We're already planning our next trip. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a spectacular experience on this beautiful property, gazing at the stars, the moon, the sunrises, and enjoying the quiet. The hosts were very welcoming, and invited us to enjoy the mowed walking path around their property (which we did twice!). This was truly a respite for my husband and me, and we had so much fun interacting with the Highland cows and sitting on the patio just being. We highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to reconnect with nature and each other!

This was very clean and exactly as described. We enjoyed the peaceful, rural area and enjoyed watching the Highland Cattle from the hot tub. Really lovely view. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive. It has a great area to gather and talk and the kitchen has all you need. Beds were comfortable.

Birthday getaway

Family Time

We enjoyed our stay immensely at the Shouse at Highland Hills Hideout. It was clean, cozy, and super comfortable. The hosts were warm and welcoming, very easy to communicate with. Then there are the cows! It was very relaxing. We visited the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend while we were there. Wonderful.Plenty of cafes in Emmetsburg if you don't feel like cooking.We look forward to staying here again.

Perfect Getaway in Emmetsburg

We found this hidden gem while planning for a family reunion near Emmetsburg. It was absolutely perfect for our family. The property is well-equipped and convenient to town. The host went beyond measure to ensure our stay was pleasant and we felt welcomed. I’d highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful place

We had such a nice time staying here! The accommodations were great, everything was so clean, and we had everything we needed for an amazing girls weekend! The only criticism I would give was on our second night, a man let himself into the Vrbo which we thought was a little odd. Such a comfortable place to spend the weekend, would definitely recommend to others/come again!

Amazing and peaceful getaway

The SHOUSE was beautiful and just what me and my family needed to celebrate my birthday and completion of cancer treatments. The hosts were friendly and easily accessible when needed. The highland cows were beautiful and great to watch while relaxing in the clean, spacious and relaxing hot tub. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Beautiful place!!

The shouse was beautiful, really wonderful, so modern and clean, but also so comfortable. The king size beds were great. Had everything we needed. The grounds were so beautiful and the animals were really special. Our host were so gracious and friendly, and very flexible with our dogs. We loved it here and will return!

Such a great stay! Three bedrooms with king size beds was awesome for our group, there were toys for the kids (age 2 and 3), kitchen had everything you might need and more! The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Oh yeah, and the cows… so cute!

Stayed 2 nights. Nice place. Beautiful view overlooking the pasture with the cows. Didnt realize that we were in the homeplace property, but that wasnt an issue. I could see us staying again.

Highland Hideout is the perfect place to get away from everything. We have tried to think of the little things to make vacation relaxing. There is a hot tub for you to soak in. We are located adjacent to acres and acres of public hunting land. It's normal to see wildlife wander through our property and hang out with our herd of miniature highland cows.

You will enjoy the sounds of nature, but have plenty to do in our area.
* Wild Rose Casino - 5 Miles
* Grotto of Redemption - 25 Miles
* The Lakes Area (Okoboji) - 40 Miles
* Lots of Local Golf Courses

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We are located just outside Emmetsburg, but it is all on a hard serviced road. We also have the option of renting out the shop area of our building if you need room to expand while you are staying with us.

We even have an outdoor area that has been used for weddings!
