Welcome to Sage by the Sea, our home located in the historic district of Cape Charles and just a short 5 blocks from the beach!

Nestled in the heart of the Cape Charles historic district, this home was renovated and furnished by one of the country's leading fine leisure living interior designers. From the expertly crafted garden patio, to luxury furnishings throughout the home, this property spares no details in making an unforgettable beach vacation for you and your family.

Our home, has 3 bedrooms with a bonus detached office/bedroom:

Bedroom 1: A Queen bed that sleeps up to 2, bookshelf, small desk, and closet.

Bedroom 2: A Queen bed that sleeps up to 2, dresser, nightstand, closet.

Bedroom 3: 2 bunk bed sets with a total of 4 twin beds. Sleeps up to 4.

Bedroom 4 / Office: a detached room with dedicated AC/Heat that is adjacent to the garage. We’ve added a sleeper sofa that converts into a double bed that sleeps 2, but this can also be used as an office to help all you remote workers escaping your home office for a week at the beach!

The first floor features a custom-built chef's kitchen (soap stone countertops, luxury Thermador appliances, and a Boos Block island), living room, dining room, full bathroom, and screened in patio with outdoor dining set. In the backyard, relax and enjoy the garden patio. Feel free to enjoy our fresh pomegranates when they are in season!

The second floor has 3 bedrooms complete with all professionally cleaned linens (incl towels and wash cloths) and a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub/shower combo. Throughout the house you'll find original hardwood floors, handcrafted build-ins, a relaxing screened in back porch, and a detached garage with an extra bedroom or office.

Linens and towels are included. They are professionally cleaned after every stay.

With every rental, we include our 2018 Electric Club Car 4-seat golf cart for guests to use. Must be a licensed driver to operate and a separate waiver is required. Most roads in the Cape Charles Historic District allow golf cart usage and parking and everything is more fun in a golf cart!

Wonderful Spot

This place was not only beautifully appointed but has everything you could possibly need! Great indoor as well as outdoor space and close to town. Very nice spot for 3 adults and a 3 year old. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Vacation

Sage by the Sea is a beautiful place to vacation with a million little touches that make it feel like "home" more than just another rental. Communication with the hosts was smooth and the property manager lives just down the street and was happy to pop by when something came up where we needed assistance. We would love to come back again!

Great house!

Our stay was fantastic! We have loved every house we stayed in in Cape Charles, but this was our favorite. It had everything we could need, especially for small kids. Great back yard and screened in porch. And, you can’t beat a house that comes with a golf cart to save on renting one. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating my husband & my best friends birthdays. The house was perfect for us.It was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The golf cart was an added bonus. Would definitely rent again!

Great long Weekend!

This house was perfect for our family’s short stay! It had everything we needed, a great screen in porch and back yard, very close to the beach and down town and walking distance to the park. Having the golf cart included was a huge plus. Also has a fantastic kitchen. We were in town for Oktoberfest, and it was close enough to walk to that too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sage by the Sea! The house is beautiful inside and out and has everything you need and more! Located on a quiet street a few short blocks to the beach and shopping. The owners were very easy to work with and communication was great- thank you for everything!

Family Vacation

I cant say enough good things to describe how nice this home is! Very clean throughout and well appointment kitchen, close to the beach and shops. We had dinner on the screened porch every evening. Great for families... (even has 4 bunk beds which was perfect for our grand daughters! The owners were very good about communication from start to finish! We were sad to leave, but hope to return next summer!

Wonderful property

This house is GORGEOUS! Beautifully stocked kitchen, the nicest screened porch & private backyard space and all of the things you want to take to the beach- chairs, towels and of course, a golf cart. The house was clean, very updated and the nicest rental we have stayed in yet in Cape Charles- and this is our 4th trip. We hope to return to this property next year. Owners are super responsive for any questions too. Book now!

Sweet Spot.

We loved the outdoor shower and screened-in porch, as well as the well-equipped kitchen. This place feels like home. The only hitch to our stay was the lock on the little house out back was broken, and my son did not feel comfortable staying there overnight. I understand the lock is being replaced.

Just Spectacular

We absolutely loved this place. First of all, Cape Charles is a lovely, mellow town with a “small kid” friendly beach. Our stay at this home couldn’t have been better. It was absolutely clean, inviting, comfortable and had everything we could have possibly needed and more. We especially loved the back porch and back yard but the beds were so comfy, kitchen more than equipped with anything we could have needed, dining room and living room above par as well. Golf cart was also key. The caretaker, Laura, was great as was the communication between her and the owners with us. We won’t look elsewhere when we come back to Cape Charles!

Happy at Sage by the Sea

My family of four (including two toddlers) thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay at this house. The kitchen is large and nice. They have far more appliances, pots, pans, glasses, etc. than a normal house. The claw foot bath is great for kids, and the downstairs shower is very nice. We enjoyed eating on the back porch. In June, the backyard was beautiful—fig trees and flowers everywhere. The office bungalow is nice, but thankfully, I did not need to use it. Other than food, drinks, toddler toys and chargers (a very small list), the house had everything needed for a beach vacation—beach chairs, beach towels, teen/adult beach toys, inflatable kayaks, etc. The location is great—a short walk to the playground and dining options. A short golf cart ride to everything else. The golf cart waiver was reasonable. The owners were responsive and helpful. There were no tricks or crazy check-out procedures. We were Cape Charles first-timers and will be back. We would happily consider staying in this house again.
