Exceptional waterfront cottage on Frolander Bay!

Welcome to Stillwater Beach House, situated on beautiful Frolander Bay in the Stillwater area south of Powell River, B.C. We are on the waterfront, nestled amongst towering evergreen trees with incredible views of Malaspina Strait and Texada Island. Whatever the weather, the setting is truly magnificent at all times of the year!

This cozy getaway is an ‘eco-friendly’, self-catering beach house with the ocean just a few meters away. It's an ideal location where you can relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities this beautiful area has to offer. It's a wonderful place to enjoy time with family and/or friends!

Gracious hosts, a quiet location in a charming cottage with nice walks close by made for a truly enjoyable stay. Sunny or stormy weather , it is a great location! Every need was anticipated and provided for with a well furnished kitchen, comfortable beds, deep soaker tub, wood stove prepped and ready for the match and an outside barbecue and fire pit to roast the hot dogs. The closeness to the water and the views were magical . The cottage decor and layout were well thought out and made for a relaxing stay. Thank you! We will be back.

Der Aufenthalt bei Christine und Jock in ihrem cosy Beachhouse war sehr angenehm. Die Aussicht, Einrichtung und Atmosphäre hat uns sehr gut gefallen.Wir sind froh, dass wir wieder dort gebucht haben, nachdem wir während der Covid- Pandemie absagen mussten. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Es ist ein besonderer Ort und es sind ganz besondere Gastgeber.Christine und Jock sind ein überaus nettes Paar, die wir sehr sympathisch fanden und die uns hilfreiche Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben haben.Wir empfehlen den Aufenthalt dort uneingeschränkt weiter.

Absolutely magical. This cabin is bwautiful, wonderfully decked out and filly equipped. Right on the water with stunnkng, uninterrupted views. Full kitchen, woodstove, and outdoor fire pit. Bed and pillows super comfortable,; wake up to ocean breeze and waves lapping. Amazing, deep bathtub with the forest right outside the window. Entire place is clean, comfortable, and well laid out. Hosts are kind and accommodating. We will come back as soon as we can.

The hosts were amazing!! We broke down on our way and they offered to come pick us up. They greet you when you arrive and say goodbye when you leave. This was a very nice change from other places. The house is absolutely stunning, cozy, very clean and the views are outstanding!! Waking up in the morning to the sounds of Eagles and seals was dreamy . Our dog especially loved the water. The cabin has everything that you need and then anything that you may have forgotten! The views are outstanding! We will be back!! We highly recommend checking this place out !!

Amazing Cabin

This cabin is absolutely amazing. The cabin is fairly new, very clean and decorated beautifully. It is equipped with everything you need, just bring your food/condiments and sit back and enjoy. The deck wraps around 2 sides of the cabin with a separate deck off the bedroom. Even the double French doors off the living/dining area and the bedroom are screened. The owners thought of everything when they built this cabin. It sits above the beach (small and large rocks) with the tide rolling in under the deck at times, so beautiful. Everywhere you stand in the cabin you can look out at the ocean. It is very private so you don’t see anything but trees and the ocean. There are a couple rock islands way out and we could hear the sea lions, nice. There are so many seals swimming past us each day of our stay. There are a few stairs and a path to get down to the cabin but once you are there is is so private. There are well constructed rock stairs going down to the grass / picnic area and a few more to get to the water. Our hosts were so friendly and very accommodating. Such a lovely couple. They are there to help you with anything anytime or leave you completely on your own, your choice. We and our 2 little dogs thank them both so much for sharing their lovely cabin with us.

Adorable cottage

We had a lovely stay. Peaceful surroundings, gracious hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the sea lions passing by for a visit and their chatterings. Looking forward to coming back.

A Treasure by the Sea

If you love the sound of waves, the gentle roaring of sea lions, amazing hikes within easy driving distance and a wonderful couple of hosts,then this beautifully laid out cottage by the sea is for you!! I know we are looking forward to making this an annual holiday for us..it was wonderful.

Beautiful and serene

Absolutely stunning location, cottage very well-outfitted, easy driving distance to Powell River and great walking and hiking. Lots of cormorants, mergansers, bald eagles, loons and grebes, not to mention harbor seals and barking sea lions. Hosts were awesome. We hope to come back!

This place was amazing. It was better than we had hoped it would be. Relaxing, Quiet, and beautiful . Christine and Jock were top notch and full of good information when asked. It was perfect for a couples get away and even had room for the kids Our only regret is not booking it for a longer stay.

Wonderful winter getaway

Incredible ocean side location in a quaint lovely cottage. Incredible views and lovely wood burning fireplace to keep the place cozy. Pro tip, give the hosts your arrival eta so they can warm the place up for arrival. Place had everything you need and a good base to explore Powell River.

Perfect Oceanside Cottage

I can't say enough about this oceanside cottage. It was perfect in every way and there is nothing I would change. My husband said it should get 100 stars! Both Jock and Christine were wonderful and always available if we needed anything. The cottage itself was spotless and has everything you would need for a holiday. We even brought our 3 fur babies and they were also welcomed with open arms. We would be back every month if it wasn't a 14 hour drive! Thank you Jock and Christine and we hope to be back in the future.

A wonderful view, and a most comfortable stay!

We've stayed in VRBO properties since 2007, and this seaside home was the best ever! Screened windows so that we could open up and enjoy the breeze all day. Heated bathroom floors convinced us to add that feature to our own house. Other upscale features which we didn't even need to use. And a chorus of sea lions on a nearby island helped us truly relax during our entire stay. We hope to be back regularly!

Delightful place to stay.

The best, host set the fire each night, carried our luggage, answered any questions we had. It was very clean and the setting was the best. We were entrained by sea lions, seals, otters and loons

Einfach perfekt

Ein wunderbarer Ort zum Wohlfühlen. Das Meer DIREKT vor der Tür, nachts hört man die Wellen. Seehunde schwimmen vorbei und wenn man Glück hat auch Wale. Das Häuschen ist bestens ausgestattet und sehr gemütlich. Die Eigentümer sind auch sehr nett und am liebsten würde ich gleich wieder umkehren.

A piece of Heaven

Great relaxing stay, a little piece of heaven right on the ocean , loved that it was dog friendly . Would recommend this for a family or just an adult's get-a-way. Great location off the main Hwy close to the Sunshine Coast trail . John and Christine were excellent hosts ! See you next year !

We purchased the above property with an old cabin on the beach as a getaway from the pressures of city life in Vancouver. This quiet rural area known as 'Stillwater' twenty kilometers, south of Powell River became our family's place of tranquility and restoration. When we both retired in 2001 we moved from Vancouver to commence building our retirement home. A few years later we decided to renovate the 'old cabin' and recently completed our eco-friendly 'Beach House' which we now offer for your enjoyment.
