Bring the whole crew to The Good Farm of Valpo: two separate homes on one stunning property—an 1853 Farmhouse (sleeps 9) and the BarnBnB apartment (sleeps 6)—set on 44 peaceful acres, just 15 minutes from Lake Michigan and a short drive to Indiana Dunes National Park, trails, wineries, shops, and cafes. Roast s’mores at the firepits, watch the chickens free-range, and soak up country sunsets.

--Laundry: Farmhouse washer/dryer in basement; BarnBnB washer/dryer near gym.

--Gravel driveway with ample space—up to one vehicle per guest across the two dwellings (subject to occupancy and driveway layout).

--Farmhouse: 3 covered porches (front, back, master), porch swing, rocking chairs, 2 patio dining sets, copper firepit + 10 Adirondack chairs. Firewood provided behind pole barn.
--BarnBnB: covered back porch, patio table, firepit + 6 Adirondack chairs; firewood behind the apartment.
--Property: open hayfield, overgrown wooded trails, and Salt Creek at the back corner (rustic access; adventurous footing).
--Restored 100+-yr barn: private dinner setups available by request & fee (requires pre-clean).

🐝 Farm & Nature Notes
--Honeybee hives are at the back of the property; please do not approach. Guests with allergies should bring an EpiPen.
--You’ll hear the sounds of the farm (roosters, wildlife, breezes). Sound machines are available upon request if you’re sensitive.
--Expect the occasional spider despite monthly treatments—farm life happens.
--Check for ticks after time outdoors.


⚠️ Safety, Accessibility Notes, & House Rules
--Homes are NOT baby-proofed (no outlet covers, no cabinet locks, furniture is not secured to walls, etc). Guests are responsible for their safety.
--No pets (due to free-range animals & allergies)
--No parties, gatherings, or events – we value the relationship with our neighbors, and strive to keep the home in top condition.
--🚭 No smoking inside or within 50 ft (violations = $300 cleaning fee)

Farmhouse:
--Very steep historic stairs + low thresholds; tall guests please mind your head. Not ideal for guests with mobility limitations.
--Retro oven exterior gets warm—use caution with children.

BarnBnB:
--Steep loft stairs and tight spaces may challenge guests with mobility needs.


🧭 Hosts, Property Layout & On-Site Shops
--Hosts live next door and will pop by for daily farm chores.
--Antique shop on the property (by appointment only).
--We’re generally hands-off, but happy to help when needed.


⏰ Check-In / Check-Out
--Check-In: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
--Check-Out: 10:00 AM
--Guests will receive key code & detailed check-in instructions via message on the morning of arrival.
--Michigan City operates on Central Standard Time (CST).
--Hosts may greet you to introduce the property & animals


🛡️ Booking Requirements
We’re excited to welcome guests from all backgrounds and want to make sure every stay is enjoyable, safe, and comfortable for both you and our neighbors. To help us maintain a great experience, we ask that:
--The primary renter is 25+ with a verified government ID.
--A $500 damage deposit is required. This is returned after checkout once our team confirms the home is in good condition.
--At least one week’s notice in order to request dates.


📋 Rental Agreement
After booking, first-time guests are required to sign a standard rental agreement that reflects the house rules and booking details shown on this listing. Information provided is used solely to coordinate maintenance or schedule adjustments during your stay. This information is kept strictly within our team and is never shared externally.


💸 Discounts & Policies
--Strict cancellation policy; if we rebook your dates, we’ll refund the rebooked portion (platform service fees are at their discretion).
--Returning guests and longer stays may qualify for discounts (message us before booking!).
