Central Oregonā€™s recreational amenities are just minutes away from this beautiful vacation home situated in a wilderness setting near Crescent and Odell lakes and Willamette Pass Ski Resort. Crater Lake National Park is only an hour's drive away. Perfect for those who love hiking, cycling, lake fishing, watersports (paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing), and winter sports. You can mtn. bike, ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile right from the cabin to National Forest Service Trails. We can tell you our favorite places! Plus, we provide snowshoes and sleds in the winter, and beach chairs and towels for beach use in the summer!

Our positive reviews report that this property is the perfect place to spend with family and friends or to experience a quiet romantic getaway. The main cabin includes 3 bedrooms (3 queens and 1 twin, 2 full baths) and the detached bonus room apartment above the garage is ideal for multiple families, grandparents, or anyone wanting their own bed or privacy ( includes 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed, microwave, TV for DVD movies/video games, table, dresser, and futon couch). A separate full bath is also available. (Groups with 7 or fewer qualify for a discount at this cabin, but without the bonus room apartment/3rd bathroom, which is not available to rent separately. See our VRBO listing #1598137 to rent the cabin only). From the cabin, enjoy beautiful mountain views and bird-watching while sitting in front of a cozy fire or sunning on the deck. A selection of books, video/DVD movies, and games are available. DISH TV and Wi-Fi Internet access are also available.

WHAT TO DO: Crater Lake National Park, Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, Lava Tube Caves, High Desert Museum, and the City of Bend are within an hour's drive. Ten Cascade lakes are within a 20-60 minute drive; and offer great fishing for those who love to fish for kokanee, mackinaw, German browns, rainbows, and large-mouth bass, or kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. We can share our favorites!

Enjoy swimming and picnicking at Simax Beach at Crescent Lake, or hike scenic trails along the shore of Odell Lake, Odell Butte for panoramic views, or the Pacific Crest Trail and other National Forest hiking trails that are within 10-15 minutes of the cabin. (See photos)

IMPORTANT NOTES TO GUESTS:
* REQUIREMENT: You must be verified by VRBO to rent this property and have positive reviews on your profile page by past hosts. A condition of renting this property is that all guests shall comply with all house rules and check-out instructions.

* INTERNET/WiFi: This is a mountain and forested area where Internet reception is suitable for standard use, but streaming on devices is extremely limited. A Verizon extender at the cabin enables Verizon devices with hotspot abilities to boost the Internet signal for Internet use on Bluetooth-enabled devices but keep in mind that WiFi bandwidth is limited and affected by weather conditions.

* WINTER MONTHS: Snow and ice may be present. Vehicles with 4-wheel drive, snow tires, or chains are best for navigating spots of ice that may be present in this mountain area and on our driveway, which is on an uphill slope with curves. Before guests arrive, we have the Diamond Peaks snow removal contractor blow snow off the driveway, but spots of ice may still be present and AWD may not be sufficient. Come prepared. Please inquire.

* BOATS/TRAILERS: Our driveway may be a challenge for large boats/trailers due to a curve in the driveway. Large boats can moor at Odell Lake or Crescent Lake, which are 10 minutes from the cabin. Smaller boats/trailers are fine. Please inquire.

* REQUIRED PERMITS: If you plan to visit recreation areas (lakes, trails, etc.) in Deschutes, Willamette, or Umpqua national forests, day-use parking permits (Sno-Park permits) may be required. Refer to the US Forest Service website for these national forests. If you have a federal "America the Beautiful senior pass," check to make sure it can be used at any recreation area you plan to visit.

What a beautiful cabin! We absolutely loved staying in this amazing place! Everything was just as described, the kitchen is amazingly stocked for every need, the furniture is comfortable, the location is beautiful and serene, and the hosts were so welcoming and informative. Bummy's Place at Crescent Lake

The house was huge and very well stocked. We were amazed at the amount of items: spices, cooking oils, plenty of serving bowls, utensils. Many of the houses we've stayed in only had service for 4, and few serving bowls and pots and pans. So many coffee mugs, glasses !! Great place to stay for a family get together !!!

In the Forest

We really enjoyed our short stay in your beautiful cabin in the woods. The drive to Crater Lake is very refreshing. Salt Creek Falls was a one of kind waterfall and it is very close. Cresent Lake is right there and is a must see. We had a wonderful lunch at the lodge on Cresent Lake sitting under huge trees watching the boats and relishing in the fresh breeze. You need to plan a WHOLE DAY for Crater Lake. WOW!!!! is just a starter. Your cabin more than met our needs and we will tell all of our friends that travel about it. Tks., TerryB....

Excellent time, beautiful home!

We had a wonderful experience at Bummyā€™s Place. The home was clean and well kept. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking - lots of pots, pans, bowls, dishware, glasses, and silverware. The appliances were very nice. There were plentiful provisions in the pantry, refrigerator, and spice cabinet. It was great to have the garage and upstairs living space available. The decor made the house feel very comfortable and homey. There were notes within the house to help us find items, and remind us of the house rules (it was appreciated). The house was convenient to Crescent Lake (we really enjoyed Simax Beach) and Salt Creek Falls. Our families would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Great cabin stocked with everything you could ever need.

This cabin met all our expectations. It had plenty of room for three families and carried plenty of towels, dishes, kitchen condiments and even bandaids. The driveway hadn't been snow plowed upon our arrival so we had to park our snowmobile trailer somewhere else but it made a great sledding hill for the kids. We were able to snowmobile right from the property. The covered breezeway and garage were great for taking off wet boots and snow clothes.

'Bummy's Place' cabin was great! It had all the amenities for a great, relaxing time. TV, internet, movies, games and plenty of room for everyone. The room above the garage for the kids to stay in was a bonus room for kids and adults alike! :) We only left the cabin for 45 minutes in the whole 3 days we were there! It had a beautiful view and when it was snowy and cold outside, we couldn't think of any reason to leave! We loved it!

Great Spot!

The layout of the house and apartment above the garage was perfect for our group. Everything worked well and the instructions were detailed and accurate. We were so close to the little town of Crescent and the ski area that driving was minimal. The neighborhood had consistently nice homes and was easy to access. The home was well furnished and the homeowners were very responsive when our kids accidentally locked the apartment door from the inside. This part of Oregon is uncrowded and beautiful. We will be back!

Amazing Mountain Cabin

We love staying at Bummyā€™s! There is room for my whole family (4 couples w/ kids)! The cabin is very well stocked, located in the most beautiful area. To top it off itā€™s a short drive to Willamette Pass Ski Resort for a day on the slopes. We have stayed there twice now, and hope for more trips.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bummy's place! The owners are very responsive and understanding when trying to figure out some technical issues. The house is equipped with plenty of anything you could need, I think the only thing we were wishing for is a fire pit out back ;) Overall, perfect for a big group and everyone enjoyed the house. Easy access for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing at nearby National Forest Service trails, Willamette Pass Ski Resort, Gold Lake Snow Park, Mt. Bachelor and more. Roads are plowed in the winter for safe travel; and spring, summer, and fall, are picture-perfect for visiting Central Oregonā€™s beautiful lakes for hiking and fishing. Oregon's 2nd highest waterfall at Salt Creek Falls is easily accessible and only 20-minutes away. The Pacific Crest Trail is nearby and offers hikes through beautiful forests and to pristine lakes. When it's just the two of us, the cabin serves as a cozy getaway from urban life.
