Looking for the perfect place for a family reunion or multi-family getaway? Welcome to Life’s A Beach—a roomy, comfortable vacation home in the heart of Cape Charles that’s made for making memories.

With sleeping space for 15 guests in beds across five bedrooms, this home offers plenty of room to spread out and relax. The bedrooms are spread across the second and third floors, giving everyone their own space to unwind after a day of sun, sand, and exploring.

The setup is ideal for larger groups:

Bedroom 1: King bed
Bedroom 2: Twin trundle and bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top)
Bedroom 3: Full bed
Bedroom 4: Full bed and bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top)
Bedroom 5: Queen bed
Kick back in the cozy family room with streaming services, a Blu-ray player, and plenty of space for movie nights. Three of the bedrooms also have streaming access, and Bedroom 4 includes a DVD player—perfect for keeping kids entertained.

Located just one block from Main Street, you're steps away from the best of Cape Charles—charming shops, local restaurants, and the famous Brown Dog Ice Cream, ranked among the top ten in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. There’s even a new pizza spot right nearby for easy, delicious dinners.

Cape Charles is a golf cart friendly town, with rentals available throughout the area. Beach cruiser bikes are also easy to find and a fun way to explore. When you’re ready to adventure beyond town, day trips to Chincoteague, Virginia Beach, and even Colonial Williamsburg are all within reach.

Please note: While the home has an upstairs balcony, it is currently locked for safety.

Bed linens and bath towels are provided, along with a starter pack of essentials including toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and laundry detergent to help you settle in comfortably.

Nice large house with great location.

The house was everything we were expecting and hoping for. Just a block or two from everything downtown, close to the park, and a short cart ride to the beach. Plenty of space around back to park the cart or an extra car if needed. Great neighborhood.

Large duplex in a great location

The duplex is very big--more space than our family needed, but the extra space was great to have. We loved that the home is dog friendly. The duplex is in a great location, close to the park, the bakery and the main street with shops and restaurants in downtown Cape Charles. Corrina/the property manager was very responsive to my questions.

Nice location. Not well maintained home.

We were underwhelmed by the home. On the positive, lovely historic home in great proximity to everything. Negative, house smells of pet urine, carpets had urine stains, kitchen floor was disgusting, utensils needed to be washed before using, dishwasher had food in the bottom. No dish washer detergent was provided. The back porch needs power washing and repair. There is no hot tub or jetted tub as advertised. It is a duplex… not a single family home

Vacation 2023

No toilet paper when we arrived. Beds in master bedrooms were hard. TVs in bedrooms didn't work. (Remote batteries exploded). Bathroom sink sprayed water everywhere. We couldn't use the 2nd story balcony because it was unsafe and moved when we walked on it. Need a blender. 18 guests and not enough towels for the week at all. Other than the few little things, the bay was great for littles. The beach with waves (Virginia Beach) is an hour drive, and you have to pay tunnel tolls everytime. 14$ during the week and 18$ on weekends. That would have been nice to know... but we did enjoy the stay. Quiet town. Great ice cream and brewery was a bonus.

Hi Holly, There were not enough towels because you exceeded the maximum # of persons (15) allowed for the property, which we are just finding out. We are here to help you. If there was no toilet paper, our apologizes. You just needed to call us and we could have rectified that. The same with the TV's. We can't solve issues if we do not know about them. We will make sure there is a blender. Thank you for letting us know. I would have given you mine for the week if we just knew. We're happy you did enjoy the area and the town. It is a wonderful place to vacation and live. For others reading this, we are local property managers and can supply items that we advertise as part of the rental fee, if they are not there.

Great large house

6 adults, 5 children, and a dog...and there was plenty of space! We had a great week. Wifi worked great, kitchen was pretty well stocked, and there's no place better to stay than in Cape Charles! The house is close to the main street, but a little bit further from the beach. Be sure to look into renting a golf cart for the week (well in advance, because they sell out). The house is a duplex so you share the front and back porch. Walls were thick though so we didn't hear them at all during the trip. Great house overall (no bedrooms on the main floor, so be prepared to walk up lots of steps. Not an issue for our group though.) Would definitely consider staying here again.

Nice location but house needs work

The pictures represent a well maintained house. That is far from accurate! No hot water in kitchen, kitchen floor has major slant, peeling paint through out house, nothing has been updated. The house is in a great location though.

Perfect for our spring break getaway

We had a wonderful stay in this older, historic property. It was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a few days away from home. We loved the proximity to downtown with shops and restaurants, and the walk to the beach was not far either. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us and she loved getting to explore Cape Charles! Communication with the owner was great and check in was very easy. The only criticism I have is that the listing wasn't specific that the house was a duplex and that the rental was for one side. We found out after we booked. This was not a problem at all, but would have been nice to see that specified in the listing. We were looking for a quiet place to rest during our teenagers' spring break, and this was absolutely perfect!

Love Cape Charles

Our group had a wonderful visit in Cape Charles. The rental is spacious, well equipped kitchen, very clean, and fabulous location. It is in need of updating and renovations of furnishings, especially the dining and living room. There are not enough dining seats, nor living room seating, to accommodate the number it sleeps. Operating the tv’s was challenging too. The 2nd floor balcony is unsafe to use as it is not attached to the building. It shakes with any movement. With improvements, this will be a jewel of a rental.

Great place to stay in Cape Charles!

This was a really nice house, with plenty of room and privacy for all the friend couples on this trip. The AC was great...took no time at all to get the third floor down to temp. Ample parking. Breaker tripped when we tried to plug in golf carts, so we couldn't use the microwave, and the house smelled a little musty when we first got in, but once the AC kicked in it was great. Overall, this was a great place right in the middle of the town and walking distance to everything! VRBO has the wrong address listed, but that appears to be a VRBO problem, not an owner problem. I would definitely stay again!

Amazing getaway

We brought our family to Cape Charles for the first time and fell in love with the town’s beauty and charm. The property was in a great location convenient to shops restaurants and beach. The house had plenty of space for our family of 6 adults and 2 small children and was comfortable. The kitchen is quite small and needs updating which made it a little difficult to prepare meals. The house could use some updating but suited our needs. We enjoyed our first stay in CC and are sure to return.

Best vacation ever!

We had the best time and cannot wait to go again. We didn't know Cape Charles before the trip but the town and the place were great! Friendly, safe beach town. You can walk everywhere (less than a mile) or rent a golf cart, even an 8 seater! Beach was great, outside shower at the place was great. Minor rental home issues: back door lock was tricky, kitchen sink sometimes randomly switched to the spray gun (shooting the victim in front), and some beds were wonky but the kids didn't mind. Overall just what we were looking for: three families, 7 kids.

perfect spring break

We had a great stay in Cape Charles. The location of the house was perfect, easy to get anywhere by foot, bike, or golf cart. The house was large, plenty of space to spread out and the beds were comfortable.

The house had great space and a nice location, but it was in very poor shape. Lots of peeling paint, burnt out light bulbs, unswept floors, deteriorating front porch.

Amy, We are sorry for the issues you experienced. The house has a new owner and in addition to having the front porch repaired and painted, there has been much work dobne to dree up the back yard and the inside of the house including some new appliances. We think it will pass muster with you if you choose to give it another try.
