I've been here several times now and I love it each time. It is so peaceful and beautiful and the host and property manager provide an excellent experience. They even came to wipe the snow off of my car, which was a kind and wonderful surprise! I highly recommend this site.

This was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area! The private hiking trail was beautiful and so convenient! Loved the views and the space to host our family fun of ping pong, board games and pool playing! A very exquisite and comfortable home! We loved it!

Relaxation with a Veiw

This is the best place to get away and watch the world flow by on the Mississippi. We love having morning coffee on the deck watching the barges go by and then capping the night off on the deck watching spectacular sunsets.

Quiet and relaxing

Amazing views, clean comfortable house loved the basement with the pool table and TV area. Breath taking views of the river. Enjoyed seeing the river traffic.

This was a spectacular and beautiful home. It is in a very private location. The property was very clean inside as well as outside. There were fabulous vistas from multiple decks. We watched the barges and pontoons from the decks. The large kitchen and pantry were well stocked. Many amenities were in all the bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and bedding was very nice. There were places to play pool and table tennis, tv. Places to read and play card games or games in general. We loved this home!

Relaxing and private

If you are looking place to get away from all that's going on around you and just enjoy nature, this is the place to stay. They have everything you need for a great retreat. It also has plenty of space for a group to stay and still have privacy when needed. The views are AMAZING and as advertised. We were able to watch the northern lights from the deck and some spectacular sunsets!

Memorial Day Family Vacation Memories

We all enjoyed the spacious house. Very equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces. The only thing we missed was a TV on the main level.

Spectacular Views and Peaceful

I have been to this property before and plan to keep coming back! The house is absolutely gorgeous and the views of the Mississippi River can't be beat. The host and property manager are excellent communicators and went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable. I love nature and here you are surrounded by woods and water and it is a great way to relax. I highly recommend this site!

Beautiful, Peaceful, Scenic Stay

I was recently here before and could not wait to come back! This place is so gorgeous and peaceful and the view of the Mississippi River is majestic. It is sparkling clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The host is very responsive and welcoming and I look forward to coming back. I can't say enough good things about this property. It is truly wonderful!

Gorgeous and Peaceful!

This place is amazing! The view of the Mississippi River is gorgeous and there are so many windows in this home and everywhere you look, you see either the river or the woods and it is so relaxing and peaceful. The hosts are great communicators and the place was immaculate and comfortable. I can't wait to return! Highly recommend.

Spectacular Home with Breathtaking Views

Spent a week in this home with three generations of our family together. The home had everything you could ever want including game room and picturesque views on every level. We were able to enjoy a campfire, grilling out and bike rides through the local area. Watched barges go up and down the Mississippi and enjoyed eagle sightings everyday of the week. Highly recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to this area. We loved our stay!

Amazing View and Very Relaxing

This place was beautiful, everything you could need, got to experience a few storms from here and it was awesome! Super clean, very roomy. Could use a bigger fridge or a fridge downstairs as it was not very room for the number of people we had, had to buy coolers. No real issues with any bugs, the few that were there were outside. Would definitely stay here again!

The best!

We loved everything about this property. Every level of the home had a view of the water. The Spaces were laid out nice. Every level had a bathroom. It was wonderful to have your coffee on the deck every morning and watch the sunset every night! We have rented many houses before and this house is our favorite of all the houses we have rented. Both the owner and on site person were great to work with. We will definitely be back! The driftless area is a beautiful area. It is unlike any other place I have been.

Spacious and beautiful

This property was a lovely location for our multi-generational family gathering. The views of the Mississippi River are wonderful, and we enjoyed watching the many eagles and blue herons all around us. We also appreciated having a sun umbrella at the deck table as well as the many folding and lawn chairs that we were able to bring out when needed. It is a bit buggy - the house is in the woods— but we did not have an issue with wasps. While we enjoyed day trips to local Farmer’s Markets, the Effigy Mounds, and Villa Louis in Prairie du Chien, we mostly found this property to be a great place to simply hang out and reconnect with family. Having a bedroom, bathroom, and living room or den area on each of the three levels meant there was room for the whole gang AND places for a personal retreat or private conversation. The owner was very responsive to all of our queries and the property itself was very clean and well maintained.

A beautiful view!

This home has amazing views of the river! Sitting atop of a bluff surrounded by nature that brings about a very peaceful feeling. We enjoyed the wrap around deck the most. The table could have had an umbrella, it gets hot sitting in the sun after awhile. There were several wasp nests around the deck as well. Thankfully they weren’t aggressive. Being the home is tucked in the woods, there are lots of bugs/insects. (Which we were told about). There were several that were dead inside of the house. It seemed as though maybe the floors weren’t vacuumed before our arrival. Same with the dust, I dusted. Everything else was clean. There was only one television, in the main room in the lower level. The furniture could have used some updating. However it was very comfortable, as were the beds. Bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of towels, extra sheets etc. This is a very spacious home! There were only 3 of us and we enjoyed the deck/kitchen and main din

Jenni, Thank you for your review. I apologize about the bugs inside the home. I promise that it was fully cleaned after the last guests. Going forward I will re-vacuum and dust again before arrivals as well. The bees nest were removed last evening when we were power washing the siding. I will get an umbrella for the table that can be taken in and out as needed. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We welcome you to plan a return visit in the future.

Fabulous, Fabulous House!

I have stayed in many VRBO houses, but this one is at the very top of my list! The minute that you step into the living area, you are hit with spectacular views of the Mississippi River. The living area and fireplace are so warm and inviting. The kitchen is large and easily accommodates 2-3 cooks working at once. There are plenty of dishes, pot and pans and such. There are two big grocery stores in Prairie du Chien just 20-25 miles away. We went there for lunch, and then explored a bit before shopping on the way out of town. There are three bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Each bedroom is on their own floor, which makes for privacy and relaxation. Downstairs is a big tv and comfy couches, where we enjoyed watching a movie during a summer rain. We explored the small town of Lansing, Iowa, nearby, too. Don’t miss the Horsfall Variety Store! It is hard to describe it, but lots of fun to check out! I literally got lost in it. Afterwards, we stopped for ice cream, right before the bridge on our way out of town. Overall, the home was peaceful, relaxing and the views are wonderful!! We watched barges, eagles, and just river life in general. Our favorite place to sit and watch the river, or watch storms come in, was from two recliners they put facing the big windows. Curl up with a good book, and enjoy! All in all, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat. The owner and property manager were the nicest and most communicative of any I’ve ever dealt with! This house is a 10 out of 10!
