Welcome to REEL HOUSE, a completely renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bath cottage located on historic Mobile Bay, just 2 miles from Fort Morgan. Sleeping up to 5 guests, this delightful home offers a king-size bed in the master bedroom with private bath and a twin-over-full bunk in the second bedroom for children or adults. The fully furnished kitchen with new appliances makes preparing meals and snacks easy, while the large 65” TV in the living area provides entertainment after a day of fishing, beach activities, or relaxing by the bay. Enjoy the scenic views, outdoor adventures, and peaceful atmosphere that make this home a perfect getaway.

You must be 25 or older to book this property. No smoking. No parties or events.



PET POLICY

This home is dog-friendly for one small dog only (25 lbs max). Guests must notify us upon booking if bringing a dog. A pet fee applies. The following breeds are prohibited by the association by-laws: Doberman, Rottweiler, Chow, or Pit Bull. No other pets are allowed.



RULES FOR RENTING WITH A DOG

• Dog must be older than 9 months

• Dog must remain on a leash when outside of the house

• Guests must clean up after their dog

• No excessive barking

The house inside was immaculate and was very cozy for our family of 4 including our small dog. The kitchen was nicely stocked with the exception of a large mixing bowl. The bedrooms were on the smaller side, but the beds were super comfy. There were several soft or weak areas in the hallway flooring. The property manager was contacted with an immediate response. Throughout the stay though, the flooring in front of the cold air return vent began to crack.The property is located on the bay with a short walk to the ocean. During low tide, the water is very shallow in front of the house but was deep enough to launch our kayaks. The neighborhood was very peaceful and clean. The area under the house had a nice setup with crabbing equipment, paddle boards, kayaks, cleaning table, shower, etc; however, the ceiling is very low. If you are taller than 5’8, you have to duck in order to walk under the house. Needless to say, our mid-sized suv would not fit under the house. There was some trash lying around the edges of the concrete pad underneath the house. There was only one outside door to the home which was concerning to me in case of an emergency. Overall, it was an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Relaxing quiet cove with a view

We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the sunsets. The little private beach was a nice added attraction. Great place to get away from it all.

The house is in a pretty good location to where you can walk to the beach or drive to some public access points. The provided kayaks were also nice. With them you could launch out and kayak over to St. Andrew’s Bay to fish or explore.

Construction noise was unexpected.

The house was great and the process was easy but we had no idea that construction was occurring right next door. Starting bright and early every day there was construction noise all day long. It made time on the porch not enjoyable. It was not a relaxing get-away as we had hoped. I just wish it had been disclosed so I could have made an informed decision.

The place was immaculate and had everything we needed. It was within walking distance of an awesome beach and close to Fort Morgan and the ferry. We enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of Gulf Shores and the traffic and congestion. It was just what we were looking for.

Not so peaceful retreat!

Pictures show a relaxing little cottage but little did we know they were building 2 houses right next door. Workers were there from early morning to late night, hammering, drilling and making a lot of noise. The peaceful retreat was far from it! The house being built next door is approximately 10-15 feet away, so very close. The cleanliness of the house was questionable also. Seems there were several spills and stains throughout the house. Kitchen counters had a spill of white goo??? No I would not recommend this house unless you had very low expectations!
