In response to your feedback-This property IS listed at a lower price on our website,because we aren't paying VRBO a % of the rental amount,so we pass that savings on to the guest.Savvy traveler's save $, that's not unethical. The "sewage" smell you referred to was sulphur.This is a mineral that is commonly found in well water. The purpose of the water treatment system is to remove the sulphur & other minerals.Once I reset the system & ran the water from each of the taps for several minutes, the smell went away.The tub was intact at that time.The following day you stated the smell was gone, then after check-out you stated it wasn't.When you called to say there was a leak, Keith went to check the issue & that's when he found the hole in the bathtub, which was the cause of the leak.A 3 inch long hole that went entirely thru the fiberglass. I consulted w/3 plumbers who all said quite a bit of force was needed to cause a hole thru the entire shell of the fiberglass tub. The photo I shared with you was a screenshot of the cleaners report that was done just prior to your check-in. While it may have been grainy after blowing it up, you could still clearly see there was no hole. I declined to send you the original photo as asked because I don't have the original, it's taken within an app &it had my cleaner's contact info on it.The report is time stamped & pdf will be included w/the claim.This was explained to you.You opted out of damage insurance both with VRBO & thru my management co. The seller offered for you to just cover the insurance deductible, but you declined.So we will be in touch once the repairs are completed & the deposit will be released once the claim process is resolved.I NEVER said you deliberately broke the tub.As soon as I told you the cause of the leak, you got defensive & accused us of sabotaging you for your $300 deposit.The 1 piece tub/shower needed to be cut up to remove from the bathroom, drywall replaced in 2 rooms, insulation replaced (far more than $300 in damages).We in no way expected or asked you to oversee any repairs.In fact, we immediately responded for both reported issues,which you reported after leaving the house & declined to be present when we arrived to repair.After I advised I have video of my inspection of the water issue, you reported your son's injury (2 days after check-out) & wanted to cancel out the repairs due to his medical bills, which you declined to share with us, no other proof of injury, no claim was filed.
