Modern Scandinavian 2BR post-and-beam home near Acadia National Park

Come and relax in our Scandinavian inspired post and beam house. You will have the entire house to yourself. The house is ideally located by Route 1 in Hancock between Acadia National Park and Schoodic Peninsula, while only 10 minutes to Ellsworth for shopping and many restaurants.

The space
Our newly renovated and spacious 2-bedroom house is ready for your Maine vacation. There are two levels to the house with the two bedrooms located upstairs along with a full bathroom (shower). One bedroom has a king-sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen and a full-sized bed. Both bedrooms have a 32" Smart Amazon Fire TV and window Air conditioner. The 1st floor also has a full bathroom (shower & separate soaking tub), a full kitchen, a dining area with a spacious dinner table with 6 chairs, and a TV area with a 65” smart Amazon Fire TV (login to your own favorite streaming service or enjoy the included Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription). There is also a small room with an office area if you need to do a little work or check in with friends at home. Enjoy FREE WIFI and high-speed internet during your stay. There is a large backyard where you can relax and play games on the lawn. The separate garage building is not for guest use. Maximum number of guests including children is 5. No pets or smoking allowed.

The area
Located close to Acadia National Park (25 minute drive) and Schoodic Peninsula (also, 25 minute drive) where numerous hiking and nature experiences await you. There are many local hikes and nature areas near the rental. A few will be detailed in the guest book when you check in. Ellsworth (10 min drive) is a good place for shopping (LL Bean, Cadillac Mountain Sports, Reny's and lots of downtown boutiques etc.), buying groceries (Hannaford and Shaws) and numerous restaurants. Also, in Ellsworth you will find big box stores such as Walmart and Home Depot. There are a few really great restaurants near the rental including Chipper's Restaurant (3 minute drive), Ironbound Restaurant (5 minute drive), and Ruth & Wimpy’s (1 minute drive). Bar Harbor, with a lot of touristy shops and the base for whale watching tours and nature cruises, is a 25 minute drive from the rental house.

We feel so lucky to have come back to this beautiful home after long days hiking, biking and exploring Acadia! Everything was just as pictured and we felt so comfortable the entire time. Jenn and Soren truly thought of everything! Ellsworth is an adorable town and the perfect distance to the park. If you’re on the fence, just book it! You won’t be sorry. Best VRBO yet!

This home is spectacular! Very beautiful, clean, organized, and close to Acadia National Park and Schoodic Peninsula. Jenn and Soren are great hosts—they provided excellent communication, and pretty much anything you would need inside the house. The house is close to a main road so there's a bit of road noise but its not overwhelming by any means. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back!

This home is beautiful with a great location to Bar Harbor, dining, gas stations, Walmart, Home Depot and anything else you would need. The home is updated, clean, comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms (2) with a soaker tub in one. The kitchen had everything you would need. Host had excellent communication and left us bags (you have to pay for bags at stores) and chocolates. There are two rooms with one that had two queen/full beds, each room had Tv's, air conditioning, and USB plugs in the lamps. Do not hesitate to stay here it is prime location and beautiful home.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Vrbo house. It was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed - everything we needed for a perfect family getaway. My wife, son, and daughter-in-law all loved the space and amenities. The location was ideal for exploring Acadia National Park during the day, and we enjoyed the convenient access to nearby restaurants and shopping in the evenings. The hosts were excellent communicators and made the check-in process seamless. We appreciated their local recommendations and responsiveness. This rental provided the perfect home base for our family vacation!

Hidden gem outside of the busy areas around Acadia and Bar Harbor. It was so nice to come to a beautifully upkept space with all amenities available. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. You can tell the space was very carefully thought through by the hosts when it was remodeled. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely re-book next time we are in the area!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, comfortable property. It was a great home base for all of our Acadia adventures and had many stores/restaurants within a short drive as well. Everything we needed to enjoy our breakfast and a few dinners in was provided and a nice bonus was the office which I used for a work day. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property! We would definitely book again next time we visit.

Jenn and Soren’s house is amazing. The furniture, decor and layout is so beautiful and thoughtful, we all really appreciated the hard work that clearly went into designing. Check in was an email with a code - easy. Location was 40 mins from Acadia, a nice back road drive. House is across the street from a 2.9 mile hike which my family of five enjoyed. Absolutely perfect 4 night stay, worth every penny.

The owners put a lot of thought and hard work in to making this property a home. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while visiting in the area. They have some beautiful local items in the home that we loved so much we reached out to get more information on them and made purchases that will be wonderful souvieers for us. Owners were great during check in, check-out and throughout our stay. We used henchmen a lot and it had e writing we needed and more.

my wife would like to retire here. we were so happy with house and all the conveniences provided. Including things for the baby. We were visiting family and didnt use the kitchen for cooking but would definitely plan to on our next stay. Wonderful property that we would book again next visit to Maine.
