If the 'camping' you enjoy most includes plush carpeting, cable TV, WiFi, full kitchen and a comfortable king sized bed, and if your idea of 'rustic' means a view of majestic mountains out your many-windowed living room, then you will enjoy being a guest at our Rocky Top Vacation Home Rental.
Our modern log housekeeping 'cabin' offers the cozy comfort of all wood interiors and comfortable furnishings. Private BBQ grill and picnic table allows you to enjoy outdoor dining, and gliding cedar porch chairs are a comfortable alternative to 'sittin' round a campfire'. Rent both sides of the duplex to accommodate larger groups.
The first floor contains the kitchen, living/dining, bedroom with king bed and bathroom. The upper floor has a bedroom with king bed and another full bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped with full sized electric range, full sized refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, and all the dishes, pots, pans, etc. that you should need. Towels and linens are provided, too.
We have a lovely, private setting, but are still convenient to town, being 1/4 mile north of the town limits - close enough to walk to restaurants and stores, but far enough to be 'away from it all', with the Crystal Lake Trail as close as your back door.

Well, if the Colorado vacation you dream about includes a remote, historic mountain town nestled in a valley of breathtaking mountains, clear alpine lakes and gurgling streams, then you won't be disappointed with Lake City. Founded as a mining town in the 1870's, and now a Colorado Historic District, Lake City is considered one of the undiscovered gems of the Rockies. Located at the junction of two scenic byways, it remains surprisingly unspoiled by commercialism and 'glitz'. It is a jeep -lovers and flyfishing-lovers paradise, as well as shops, restaurants, movie theater, live theater and concerts, museum, and did I mention mountains?? We have 5 '14ers' right here in our county!

Great stay in Lake City

Cabin 2 had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. We loved the views fron the covered porch. Super quiet and great pots and pans for meal prep. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance although a road walk is required.Great jumping off point for exploring Lake City and the San Juanā€™s.

Very nice place

Thank you Aimee for a great stay. The cabin was very nice, well maintained, & cozy. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen had pretty much anything I needed. The only thing I might have changed...since there is a coffee maker, it would have been nice if there coffee filters. Rocky Top will definitely be on my "go-to" list for accommodations in the future in Lake City.

Very Nice

The cabin and the owners were very nice. The cabin was really nice inside. King beds were the best. It was very quiet and Cabin #2 parking next to the cabin was great! The gas stove was so pretty! Everything was easy to access. The 'only' negative I can say is that the TV was just a normal "DISH" stations......So if you have used to streaming everything (without commercials) then I would say put your Firestick or Roku stick in your suitcase and -VIOLA - problem solved!!!! I loved this cabin and the proximity to EVERYTHING in Lake City. I give it 5 stars!!!! (Did I mention KING BED!)

The Perfect Spot in Lake City

I can't say enough about our stay here! The cabin was clean, cozy, and spacious. It had beautiful views and provided great access to everything the Lake City area has to offer. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Amazing Place

Beautiful cabin close to town

The Rocky Top cabin was very clean and had all the comforts of home. We especially enjoyed the front porch for morning coffee. Our host Aimee was so accommodating and friendly. The location was great! A little ways out of town so very peaceful and quiet!

Aimee was an excellent hostā€”she was very responsive to any questions we had, and lives on the property so she checked on us frequently. The cabin was perfect for our family. We found it to be very clean and well stocked. Access to the property and location within the town was very convenient. Will stay with Rocky Top again in the future.

Lake City Vacation

The cabin and location was perfect for our stay. It was super quiet and peaceful enough for us to just relax but close enough to town to be really convenient. Some of our plans changed at the last minute and Aimee was really accommodating. We loved it and honestly can't wait to come back.

Beautiful, beautiful place. Very clean. Cut the trip short as many businesses were not open yet. Wanted to check those out. Weather everywhere was atypical but we had a great time. Owners were great. It is an excellent place to stay.

Very nice comfortable, cozy and very clean cabin in Lake City. Have stayed here four times and will continue to book here. Very well equipped with all the comforts of home. Quiet location very close to town. Sure beats other places we have tried.....

We have recently moved to Lake City, CO to run Rocky Top Vacation Home Rentals. It is a beautiful area and we are loving raising our family in the small town environment. We have lived in Gunnison, CO for 10 years and met at Western State College.
