Truly authentic Walled Garden Cottage.

The Walled Garden Cottage is located on a private estate close to the village of Terryglass, Co. Tipperary. It is very comfortably furnished, with all modern conveniences, sleeps 5, tennis courts, walks, biking, fabulous garden, outdoor dining.
The cottage opens into a 150 year old walled garden which is kept in pristine condition. Guests can use the outdoor dining facilities including the barbecue. Guests can also use our tavern for drinks ! A quaint space to enjoy before or after dinner. Bose music speakers are available for your use during your stay.
The cottage and it’s environment is perfect for horticulture lovers and those who appreciate a nature preserve (we do not use pesticides), or a romantic getaway.
Enjoy cosy evenings spent infront of the fire chating, reading, watching television or listening to music. Have breakfast on the terrace, feel free to visit the huge glasshouse, take a leisurely stroll around the garden. Take a bike ride after breakfast or enjoy coffee by the jetty.

Beautiful property

The grounds are stunning, hosts are gracious and welcoming, and the cottage is cozy. One of the most beautiful places I've stayed. The location is great for exploring, with an excellent pub just a few kilometers away. I'll definitely be back!

This property is simply spectacular. The quaint cottage is cozy and completely supplied with every need you may have. The walled garden is beyond anything you could imagine - gorgeous and peaceful. We had fun playing tennis and walking through the woods to the lake. The local pub was excellent and there are plenty of places to explore close by. Don’t miss out on this one in a million home stay.

Beautiful historic cottage in fairytale setting. The garden and the grounds were lovely. Great hospitality from the team, we had everything we needed. Quiet and peaceful, it was like going back in time. We wished we could have stayed longer, and hope to stay in the cottage again soon.

Outstanding experience

This is a very special place and it was our honour to spend 3 nights on the property. Frank's exceptional hospitality coupled with the thoughtfully well appointed cottage (just bring groceries!) made for a truly lovely vacation, one we will never forget .

Perfect Stay

Everything was beautiful and very comfortable. Frank made us feel very welcome. The only issue was that we had to eventually leave and go back to our real lives.

Simply amazing. The cottage was a piece of heaven. From the time we walked in the door we felt we were home. Ann and Frank were wonderful to work with. The community - especially Paddy’s were so welcoming. Cannot say enough good things!

Magical Getaway

It's hard to even explain in words how amazing this property is. Even in winter, the walled garden area was beautiful and immaculate. Anne was so gracious letting us in early and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. I can't wait to come back!

Simply Amazing

Simply amazing! Words and pictures can't begin to describe what an incredible property this is. Not only is the cottage wonderful, exquisitely decorated with all modern conveniences, but the walled garden and surrounding property are truly amazing. All of the staff are smart, gracious and kind. The location provides the most peaceful environment we have ever experiencee, with shopping and great pubs just ten minutes away. We can't wait to return.

A week Full of Joy

Magical stay

We spent 8 fantastic days at the cottage after a two week tour of the country. We were ready for a rest before returning to real life and found this to be a tranquil, beautiful spot with lots of birdsong - and for our week - lots of sunshine. The hospitality and kindness of everyone associated with the cottage was amazing. We had beautiful flower and veggie arrangements from Gudrun, and great communications with everyone. It was hard to leave - and a bit emotional. We met very special people. We're going back.

Superb character walled garden cottage in glorious location.

We had over two weeks in this delightful cottage set in magnificent grounds and were very sad to leave. The walled garden is superb and was the source of our glorious flower arrangements and fruit and vegetables. The walks and access to Lough Derg were wonderful and the local village is not far away where there is a great Irish pub. The hosts were lovely and very helpful in all aspects. It is very central to explore Tipperary, Galway, Clare and other areas. We dearly hope to be back one day.

“A Little Piece Of Heaven”

From the booking through the holiday, everything was excellent. Anne kept in contact during the entire process. The cottage is lovely. The grounds are beautiful and the Walled Garden is spectacular. Frank was an attentive and gracious host. Maria and Dennis were willing to share their knowledge of the local area and offered assistance when needed. Good people.

Outstanding experience!

This property is incredible. The gardens hold a special place in my heart. The work Gudrun puts into making the flowers, fruits and vegetables healthy is so evident. The cottage itself makes you feel like you are stepping back in time but with the modern conveniences. Merie and Dennis tended to our every need from linen changes and tidying to filling the wood for the stove and filling our heads with local lore. Frank went out of his way to make sure we were able to have dinner at a local pub even though we arrived quite late. Enjoy this VRBO location. It will be one you will never forget.

Private Escape to the Country

The only negative is the pictures and description do not do this property justice. We were wrapped in casual elegance, with all the amenities needed. Well equipped kitchen, sharp knives, nice towels, beds and pillows. We had a great wood burner in the living area AND the main bedroom. As if this wasn’t enough, the private walled garden on the grounds of the wildlife preserve were magical. I thought we would have to share the garden, but it was ours! The hosts were accommodating and provided plenty of essentials in our welcome kit! We also had fresh flowers throughout the house to enjoy. Book your stay now, you won’t regret it!

Historic Property on an Expansive Estate

We stayed a few nights on a recent trip around Ireland. This property was a highlight of our vacation. The authentic, historic home is adjacent to a walled garden complete with a large conservatory. The garden provided fruits and veggies during our stay (2 large bowls on the table when we arrived). The rest of the property is expansive with walking trails and access to Lough Derg. We spent a morning walking the trails with 4 of the owners (very) friendly dogs in tow. The location is very quiet and peaceful, a short drive from smaller towns and a day trip from places like Galway and even Doolin or Cliffs of Mohar. Frank made himself available to support our stay from check-in to check-out providing recommendations and fascinating details about the property. Overall a good stay that I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful time in the countryside.

Magical

We arrived to the Walled Garden Cottage in the middle of a storm. We were very warmly welcomed by Anne who helped us sort out TV and music and inside no time we had a roaring fire. The beds are so comfortable and made up with 5 star quality linen. We both slept so well and woke up to the birds signing and sun shining. The kitchen is very well equipped and the pantry has a great stock supply. We both decided to cook and found really good local suppliers for fish and meat. Fresh vegetables from the garden were absolutely delicious. We loved sitting in the garden having good food and wine watching the butterflies and dragonflies. Frank and the staff on the estate were so helpful and kind calling to check if we had enough wood or if we needed something from the shop. Total relaxation. Do not hesitate to book.

Everything and more!

"No worries, let me take care of that for you." -words that any traveller who's been up for more than 30 hours loves to hear. Not only were we given instructions on how to find the estate before we even left Canada, but Frank met us at the closest town to personally guide us through the winding narrow lanes to arrive at the most amazing estate. He walked us through all the amenities in our private 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 3 living areas with kitchen cottage. We were left with the essentials of bread, eggs, butter, fruits,and vegetables (from their own gardens!) and some special treats. I can't say enough about the lovely folks at the Walled Garden. They gave us free access to the entire estate and were so attentive. It made the other places we moved onto later that week very paltry and plain in comparison. We kept saying "Let's go back to Anne and Frank's". Worth the extra driving to get the peace and tranquility we found there.5 star service for sure. .

1ere découverte de l’Irlande et quel meilleur moyen que par ce havre de paix et de sérénité. C’est un cocon qui préserve la nature et où nous sommes les invités dans cet magnifique endroit si respectueux de la vie animale et végétale. Un grand merci à Anne et son mari, Franck, Mary et Cedric. Nous avons regretté de ne pas rester plus longtemps.
