o PRIVATE LOCATION. Located on Hat (a.k.a. Gedney) Island, a members-only community 5 miles offshore from Everett - 30 miles north of Seattle
o ARCHITECTURAL GEM. This waterfront beach house has breathtaking 180' views of Whidbey Island, Camano Island, and Puget Sound with a private marina, rated nine-hole golf course, and tennis/pickle ball court. Private ferry boat access and a lack of commercial activity on the island make for a peaceful get-away from the hustle and bustle, and a unique adventure for viewing whales, heron, eagles, and seals.
o TRANSPORTATION. Owner provides an on-island host to meet you at the Hat Island marina and introduces you to the house systems. By arrangement, we can purchase private ferry tickets for registered guests.
o This beach house has two wings connected by a huge Iron Wood (Ipe) deck with outdoor lounging and outdoor eating areas. The two-story bedroom wing has four ocean-view bedrooms, two with private balconies. The glass enclosed kitchen/dining/living area has giant sliding doors, connecting the outside with the inside.
o AMENITIES. The house is fully equipped for your comfort. Amenities include a wood-burning stove/fireplace and plenty of wood, fast Wi-fi, great indoor/outdoor speakers, TV with DVD player and loads of DVD's, games, puzzles, big kid and little kid toys and books.
o KITCHEN is fully appointed with bamboo cabinetry and granite counter tops, baking equipment and supplies, ice-cream maker, crock pot, crab pot, etc.
o LAUNDRY facilities on main level. Duvet covered down comforters for all seasons and top quality mattresses.
o BEACH. Enjoy kayaking, walking, swimming, paddle boarding, crabbing, clamming, scuba diving, golfing, beach combing, small boating, paddle boarding, (signed Boat Waiver required).
o RATES SHOWN ARE FOR UP TO 8 GUESTS. ADDITIONAL GUESTS OVER EIGHT INCUR EXTRA GUEST CHARGES. MAXIMUM 10 GUESTS - NO EXCEPTIONS. All guests must be listed on the rental agreement and no persons are allowed on the premises who are not listed on the rental agreement.
o No groups of unrelated persons age 13-29 may rent this house.
o Signing of RENTAL CONTRACT is required to finalize booking, at which time we will also send information about marina parking, golfing, crabbing, the boat waiver, foot ferry information, maps and house system information.
o A signed waiver from all guests is required before borrowing any SMALL WATER CRAFT.
o NO PETS. Sorry, but due to owner allergies, we STRICTLY DO NOT ALLOW PETS, EVEN SMALL ONES.
o Note that this house may not work as a base for activities on the mainland. The ferry does not run every day, but typically runs 1-2 times per day.

Guests love to explore the beaches, island dirt roads, and wetlands and borrow the kayaks and paddle boards, play games and read books while lounging on the deck. We love to catch Dungeness crab, pick blackberries and bake a blackberry or huckleberry crisp, all while enjoying the expansive beach views.

Hat Island is a breathtakingly beautiful secluded island not far from Seattle. With the help of talented local architect Chris Serra, and designer Julie Meyers, we built this custom home as a relaxing family vacation spot away from busy city life. The house prioritizes amenities for great sleeping, intimate conversations, and gourmet cooking. All the bedrooms have a lovely view; two have private balconies.
O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?
From the deck we can observe a of wildlife: whales passing through in the springtime, eagles and falcons diving for fish, momma and baby seals, birds, and rabbits of many colors. Walking around the island is a great way to get a 4.5 mile hike and see the local geology. Crabbing, clamming and berry picking are in season are outside your front door.
With a boat waiver signed for every participant, you may also borrow our recreational kayaks, stand-up paddle-boards, and row boats. We have many life jackets on site, but bring any special sizes you may need.
Because this is a private island with an HOA, there are naturally some rules. For example, we do not rent to groups that include unrelated teenagers or 20-somethings, the HOA requires registration of all guests and imposes rules about fires and golf that you must strictly follow. Our own house rules explained by our on-island host help everyone leave the house in pleasing shape for the next guests. She will meet you at the docks, help you to the house, and show you the house systems.
NOTICE TO HAT ISLAND HOMEOWNERS: Please note that if you OWN a home on Hat island, our contract requires three important and unique things: 1) that you list all registered guests on our Confirmation Page at the end of the signed contract and commit that no one other than registered guests will be on the premises at any time. There is a camera showing the street entrance to the yard and a fine of $200 per extra person, per 24-hour period, for any unregistered guests on the premises; and 2) island home owners may not borrow our vehicle; and 3) the entire group of guests must arrive at the house at the same time in order to meet with our island host before checking in so that everyone can learn how to take care of the house and its systems.
