This beautifully mostly updated 4-bedroom home is perfect for family gatherings or group getaways, comfortably sleeping up to 14 guests. With a large open-concept kitchen and living room, you’ll have all the space you need to relax and make lasting memories.

Everything at the property was clean and plenty of room for 7 golfers. Host was always a text or phone call away, we didn't have any issues. A great spot across from the lake and right next door to the Copper Kettle Distillery.

Everyone enjoyed their time at the house. Lots of room for our group of eight people. Hosted a company team building event and the living room was great for the presentations on the big screen.Great location. Copper Kettle restaurant served excellent food. A/C was not included but we made it work… We would check in to renting again next year.

Spacious main area for our group of 12 to socialize. Walking distance to multiple local businesses. Perfect location to play multiple not notching golf courses. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed being across the street from the lake with a Dairy Queen right next door.

The home was clean and welcoming. The kids loved the Dairy Queen and a walk to the park and beach just across the highway made for a nice activity. The kitchen, dining and living room area was a comfortable and spacious gathering place for us and our guests.

Great location

This house worked out great for my group of golf buddies. The location can't be beat. Walking distance to Dairy Queen, the local bar, and a distillery next door. Will definitely book here again for future trips.

Decent place to stay.

Clean, good location, located by Wallgreens, bar and grill is across the street and next to a new distilary, Dairy Queen is across the street as well. Has eight beds and the kitchen was nice but the WiFi didn't work.

The house was plenty big for many, many people to come and enjoy. Might be good if you’re not used to traveling and you just need the cheapest price to hold a bunch of bodies. Just a few problems I’ll note so people are aware. 1. The basement was flooded with more than just a few inches of water and it left a smell throughout the house upon entering.2. The Wi-Fi was not available and even after speaking to the host nothing was done to fix the issue. I’m very glad I did not have children because this could have been a very big problem. 3. The kitchen had a drawer missing and other drawers were very difficult to open. 4. There is a bar across the street that was very noisy that had motorcycles driving in and out up till 2:00am and people outside yelling at all hours. 5. Several windows were painted shut so opening up the windows for some breeze was pretty limited. 6. No air conditioning available. 7. One of the 2 downstairs bedrooms had no window in it. 8. Very important to know that they have the checkout time at 9:00 AM

Thanks Karen. Truly appreciate you sharing PART of the story with the world...that wasn't the entire story though...was it? Upon checking in, you called about the furnace not working and said how 65 was too cold, there is water in the basement and the internet wouldn't connect to your phone. My office manager talked to you several times that night and we even had an HVAC company come out next day to service the furnace. They said it was working fine, and I have the 300 dollar after hours service call bill to substantiate that. I probably should have billed you for that, but I chose not to. The water in the unfinished basement that shouldn't have affected your stay was unfortunate to everyone in this area that had flooding devastate many homes and cottages in the area. It happened to MANY people here and was the first time for us. It was unfortunate to all of US, but how you managed to be the victim in this is a head scratcher. Our house had water in it, not yours. The water is dried up now, we cleaned and treated for mold, and I'm sorry it smelled musty to you, but the previous 2 guests didn't even say anything about it, and one of them checked out the morning you arrived...and our professional cleaning staff didn't notice the smell either and they were there right before you checked in. The wifi was also working just fine, and as we explained, we aren't sure why it wouldn't connect to your phone, but it did work for the previous guests, connected to the TVs there.

Annual Friends Trip

We enjoyed the house. It was very spacious and accomadated our entire group with ease. The location was great. The only issue we had was that there was no A/C in the house. It was not noted in the description and we didn't find out until we got there. There was lots of box fans to put in the open windows and luckily the weather was cool enough that we were just fine. If it happened to be 90 degrees, we would have had a much larger complaint. Overall we had an awesome time and would consider coming back again

Hello, correct, we do not say anything about the house having A/C, because it does not. We have a lot of other great features in this house that we do advertise. In the north, it does cool down a lot in the evenings, so the fans will do the trick.

GREAT STAY!!!!

We had plenty of room for eight guys and all of our gear. It was a great place to unwind after several rounds of golf in the area. We enjoyed the large living room and kitchen, which accommodated for big meals and plenty of room for playing cards and watching some football. The game room in the back was the icing on the cake! It was also really nice to take a short walk across the street to hit the local bar/restaurant instead of having to drive anywhere at the end of the night! The house was spotless and each of us had our own comfortable bed. The bathrooms were super clean and spacious. Plenty of towels and linens were provided. We were all very happy with our stay and plan to do it again next year for sure. Thank you!

Property was aligned to expectations. Service by the rental team is OUTSTANDING in feedback and providing the support. Ammendities were as described and for our group of 8 men who were there to Golf the home and situation was aligned very well. The Check in accomodated our early request to stay one night ahead and we got a great rate for the stay. The Kitchen was open, large and accomodating to support activity. We did cook, use oven microwave, fridge etc All worked (except Ice Maker did not work but no water line.) Bathrooms were tidy and clean and al worked with decent water pressure. Some bedrooms did not have functional windows to open and other did open but screens were not attached allowing bugs and mosquitos in. Our stay and timing aligned to very hot humid weather and unfortunatley this rental does not provide airconditioning. We brought plenty of fans and opened windows that we could.

Houghton Lake-Summer House

Overall, this house worded well for our family trip. It is close to a beach with a playground, stores, and restaurants. The space in the house was great. Kids had there own room and game area. Our group had 5 kids between 7-10 years old, and the house did not feel cramped. There was enough room for the grown-ups and kids to spread out. The large dinning room table was great. The TVs worked well and the internet was good-as I had to take a zoom call one evening. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed, as we cooked breakfast and dinner each day. There is a charcoal grill in the backyard we used for burgers one night. Lots of parking spaces. So why a 4 star: There is not air conditioning-but there were lots of fans. The grass in the backyard was not cut-so it limited the use of that area-owner did respond-but did impact the kids ability to play in the back. It is not a quiet area-especially with keeping the windows open at night. Also, a few windows did not have screens on them-and we did not open them to avoid bugs in the house. I feel like this house is in the middle of updates, and once additional improvements are made it is going to be great!

It is across from Dairy Queen

The positives: The place is very spacious, clean on the inside, clearly recently updated. Kitchen is well stocked and bathrooms feel very clean. They provided lots of fans which was nice. Negatives: No A/C, central or window units, which is livable, except that maybe half the windows are openable. Either they don’t have screens, or are painted over. As in literally the glass is painted on and the window is painted shut. Being there in the heat of July and not being able to open enough windows at night to cool off was not pleasant. When we arrived the outside trash was overflowing from the previous renters garbage and the lid not being able to be on at all. Which means by the end of the weekend trash was all over the yard from rodents and the neighbors were making remarks to us as the “renters” we needed to clean it up. It smelled to high heaven and we had to wait to put all our trash out until the garbage was collected on day 3 of our stay. And picking up previous tenants garbage because it was so nasty was also not pleasant and not what I want to be doing given how much we’d paid for this property. Last was it’s advertised with wifi, but it never worked and the Tv is Roku so unless we connected our phones to the tv it didn’t work. Multiple multiple attempts to communicate with the renters went mostly unanswered and the issue was never resolved. Also of note, no lamps or lights in living room, no bedside tables in any bedrooms.

The house was clean and roomy, well furnished except the pans were old, but easy enough to bring your own. The communication was clear and very friendly. The big dining room table was a great place to gather. Towels were plentiful and fluffy. The washer and dryer were like new.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

This 4 Bedroom Home sleeps 14. Huge kitchen and living room. Much of it has been renovated. It features so much for the price that you won't want to leave! 2 Bedrooms have Queen Beds, one has a Full size bed and the Largest is a Bunk Room with 2 sets of twin over Full sized bunk beds AND a futon. It also has a 50 inch Plasma TV with an old school Nintendo Game! The main floor is open concept with large kitchen complete with just about everything you will need, dining room and living room. Two of the bedrooms and a bath are on the main AND the Laundry Room too. There is a 3 season room set up as a game room with foosball, darts, cornhole bags and others.
There is an outside table and chairs with umbrella and a charcoal Weber Grill in the fenced in backyard (even though it is a work in progress).
We also feature a huge side lot (all the way to the corner) with parking for 4 and a boat/snowmobile/atv trailer or two:-)
Houghton Lake is a vacation destination and this home will help you enjoy your stay. It is right across the street from Sullivan Park with a playground, sandy beach and of course there are restaurants/bars within walking distance and Dairy Queen is literally across the street!
